Chapter FIFTY-FIVE

"Knock Knock!" We looked at the door at once. "Good day." I smiled when I saw Jr. standing and carrying Tupperware and a bag. I was not surprised to see him because he was with those who picked me up at the airport.

"Jr., come in." Dad invited him.

"Thank you," he said then went inside and went straight to the kitchen with us. “I brought dried fish from Batanes, Clark brought it from his aunt. I would like to give it to you. I also cooked others for breakfast.”

“Oh, that's right! Give me and we will eat.” said papa then took the first one.

"How's jetlag?" Jr asked then he turned to me.

"You can ask about jetlag as if Taiwan is far from the Philippines." He just laughed at my answer.

I know that Jr. is twelve years older than me. But why does he seem younger than we haven't seen each other in three years? Then even more handsome. I just smiled because of what I thought.

"Did you eat Jr.?" Mama asked him but even though he still couldn't answer, Mama seconded what he said. "Wait! I'll get you a plate.”

"Oh, it's okay, I had a different purpose with your wife so I'm here."

Not only did Mom and Dad look at him but so did Janel and me.

"Why what is that about?" papa asked.

Jr. took a deep sigh before looking at me and releasing it and standing up properly while looking at Papa.

"I would like to let you know that I want to ask Mia to be my girlfriend." My eyes widened because of what he said.

Right away?

I just arrived, and he's flirting with me.

I waited for my Dad's reaction staring at Jr. as well as Mom.

"Hey, it's too early and you're flirting with me?” I told him.

“I didn't tell you to answer me right away, I'm just asking your parents' permission. Shhh!” at once signaled quietly to me. "I promise you that I will take care of Mia and not hurt her."

I looked at Mom and Dad again.

“We do not object, Jr.,” Dad replied. He's easy to talk to ah! “But I only want one thing from you, I hope no matter what happens you are there for our daughter. You know what she went through before, we did nothing to sympathize with her. It is unlikely that what happened will happen again, history repeats itself. If she ever goes astray again, you will be one of the people who will bring her back to where she belongs,” Dad said.

Even though Jr. couldn't answer, Mama also spoke.

“I have a lot of trust in you, Jr., we love Mia and I know, I see that you love her too. So I wholeheartedly agree for you to court her.”

"Thank you."

"Won't you ask me?" We all looked at Janel.

"You'll agree too, won't you?" Dad asked.

"I don't agree," he said then drank coffee and looked at me seriously. Mama and Papa and Jr. were surprised by his answer. "I will not agree you not say yes, Mia."

"You're really crazy," Mom told her.

I looked at Jr. with a wide smile on my face.

"Don't smile at me, you might be waiting for another ten years before I answer."

“I can wait for another twenty years. But I hope it will not take like that.”

Laughter filled our breakfast.

We had so much fun. I wish I had been positive before. ‘I wish I experienced this before. But it's ok, it's not too late for my family and me and for Jr.

I just smiled because of what I thought.

This is the beginning of everything. I hope there is no end to the happy days I have with the people I love.
