We haven’t opened the topic again about what I said. After I asked him that question and he acted like he didn’t know, I went into the room and locked the door. I let him sleep in the living room even though the sofa was small there. The next day I never asked about it again and so neither did he.
“Daddy!” We are now on the river. Tiarra and I have a routine that we take a bath here every weekday. I don’t seem to be used to having a new one with us.
Tiarra laughs now as she bathes in the cold river with Hugo. I was just there on the not-wet rock while watching our food. I just saw Tiarra having so much fun. Is that the kind of content she is? Did I become a bad mother when I took her away from Hugo?
It’s been two weeks since Hugo came here, but we still haven’t talked about everything that has happened in the last five years. Backward I’m ahead of things. I want to ask but I also don’t want to sometimes. I sighed, picked up a stone, and then throw it in water. I think the stone I got is bigger because they both looked at me.
Since they have been in the water for a while, I told them to eat what I cooked. I cooked pasta and a few other meals. I also brought drinking water. They came out of the water while I waited for them. I looked at Hugo’s abs, then also averted my eyes because of the water flowing into his abs. He looks so damn sexy.
While we were eating, Tiarra suddenly spoke and I was surprised by what she said. “Mommy, why haven’t I seen you kiss daddy yet?” As she tasted the pasta, she looked at us and waited for an answer.
“W-where did you learn that word?” I wiped the little sauce that went on her lips then ignored the staring Hugo. “Aunt Shiela said when you love each other you always kiss, here, and.” She pointed to her lips, then looked at me. That Shiela! Doesn’t she know how to keep quiet?!
I smiled at her and wanted to say that we were not in love. Maybe, in the past, I love him more, but now I don’t know. I just messed up her hair and then gave her water. Just a few hours later, we decided to go home.
I thought when I got home I would be able to rest. I thought then that I would be happy because I was away from them, but why do they still bother me? If they just want to ruin my life again, I don’t want to. I’m happy — my Tiarra and I are happy.
Even though her face has changed, I still haven’t lost the true look she had when I met her. She is wearing beautiful clothes now. She can show the whole world how beautiful she is. If she’s here for Hugo, that’s fine. She can take Hugo because I don’t own Hugo but her.
Hugo walked quickly towards her. Tiarra pulled him in his pants, but I rapidly picked up Tiarra. I don’t know for what I’m hurting. Whether it was because he was going to Soleil and he was away from Tiarra or I was hurt because he was walking without even hesitation to leave and walk towards Soleil.
I instantly went inside and locked the door. While Tiarra was sobbing because her daddy left. I also didn’t know what to tell her.
Soon there was a knocking outside. I already knew who it was, so I didn’t open it. When the knocking stopped, I would have entered the room again to lie next to the sleeping Tiarra. Maybe she was tired from playing earlier. After a while, it knocked again. Because I didn’t want my daughter to wake up, I opened the door for them, but I was surprised that there was no one else at the door but Hugo. Where is Soleil? I looked into Hugo’s eyes and it was tinged with anger.
He came in immediately and pulled my hand away. I complained about what he did. What’s his problem? I took it back from him and then looked at him with my sharp eyes. He soon calmed down from what I had done.
“Let’s talk about this. I didn’t understand what was going on. You suddenly left without saying anything.” His voice was already tinged with annoyance. He did not utter the word I stabbed him. If he’s confused, I’m even more confused! If that’s what he wants, go ahead! We will talk from the very beginning.
“Why are you here? Your fiance is out there, so what else are you doing here? Get out! I will just tell Tiarra that you have worked again.” I averted my gaze because I felt something blocking my throat.
“Fiance?”
Is he crazy? Who else is that fiance in his mind? I didn’t answer, so he continued.
“I’m married.”
I don’t know to whom the word married he says is. But it was as if at the bottom of my heart there was hope.
“Yeah. Yeah. So go home to her because she is waiting for you.” I pushed him out the door as he blocked my hands.
“But I’m already home.”
What he said made me look up to him. My heart is full of hope. The butterflies in the belly started dancing again.
I would have pushed him again when he asked me the thing I had been running for a long time. The topic will eventually open up between the two of us. I hope he had nothing to do with it because if I had known it earlier, my heart would have been free now. I will never forget the photos Wayne gave me.
