Edward had a difficult time fighting August’s General. Despite the fact that they were intelligent and really strong, they were in sync. Almost unstoppable. Had it not been for a fact that Edward’s mother was a healer, Edward definitely won’t make it alive.
Thanks to that, Edward was capable of healing himself.
Though, it wasn’t an ability that could help others, it was convenient. It helped him. Just a while ago when he was fighting the enemies, he thought he would die after receiving much wounds and slash. He was almost done for.
Chuckling, Edward streched out his arms. “Miss me?”
All of his wounds had healed. The only thing left were stained blood on his skin. What’s pleasing about Edward’s ability was that it was reserved. Since he cannot use it to heal others, it was very much capable of healing him, in any state. Even in the brink of death.
“I’ve been waiting for you…” Axel, in his wolf form, grunted, before returning his gaze towards August’s General. “I’m not sure how you made it alive. But good timing.”
The Wesleyeians contineud with their incantation. The other wolves positioned themselves, again, to prepare for any kind of attack from the enemy. Monique, who was still emotionally down for what happened, as a healer who was not able to save her ally, moved Efraim’s body so he may not attain any more injury.
Edward stepped in the battlefield, transmuting on his wolf form, again. He avoided looking back where Efraim was to keep himself composed.
He felt it. When Efraim was striken, he sensed it. It triggered his ability to heal fast so he could help Axel and his pack. But though he did make it… he did not want to look at Efraim’s body. He did not have the courage to. At somepoint, even if it wasn’t his fault, Edward was taking the blame for not being there for him.
That because of his absence, they lost an important figure.
“So, it is true that you have the ability to heal yourself…” August’s skimmed Edward’s physique. “Interesting. Perhaps, I can ask the human to experiment on your body…”
“Delusional bastard…” Edward trudged in towards August’s General, not fearing them even a bit. “You won’t even be able to touch me…”
The three of August’s Generals, who disliked Edward’s tone, attacked in one swift move, they jumped, transforming to their wolf form mid air to get Edward’s neck, but he disappeared.
The Generals landed on the ground. To their disbelief, he was suddenly gone. The others who were watching gasped in astonishment. The Generals looked everywhere, but in a splash of the wind, their neck bled.
“Aahhh!” One of August’s General screamed in pain.
August’s face reflected horror. “Where is he?”
“It’s working….”
Edward re-appeared. In the same position where he suddenly disappear, with his claws stained with blood. No one was following how the General was suddenly hurt when he was just standing. More importantly, Edward suddenly vanished.
“Teresa….” Axel murmured. “So this is the special ability Efraim spoke of.”
What Edward did was a gamble. In order to test the special ability the Wesleyeians spoke about, he provoked August’s Generals. Now, it had been confirmed. But they were left with questions.
How was Teresa able to open the seal the Goddess made?
What promise did the Wesleyeian made in order to get Teresa broke the seal?
What did they missed?
There were a lot of mystery they wanted to know. But before that, they have this war to win.
The allied wolves did not waste a chance. In thin air, they all vanished. Simultaneously, like they weren’t there at all. Even Aliaga, whose back was hardly pressed on the trunk of the tree, passed from sight.
The wind buzzed. The leaves that were on the ground flew like they were being controlled. August’s army became alert, frightened at the sudden disappearance of their enemy. They looked all over the place. But before they could even find their direction, they felt their skin slashed in different part.
All were deep enough to render them unable to move. It was an open opportunity, thus, they showed themselves to bluntly onslaught August’s army. Completely decreasing the enemy’s number in more than half.
“T-take them!” August, who did not know how to explain what he just saw, stepped backward. “Do not let them do as they pleased!”
And so August’s Generals tried to attack. But they weren’t given an opportunity to. The allied groups disappeared again. Confusing the enemy physiologicall, causing them to feel fear. Their face reflected horror as they heard muffled voices in thin air.
“We… we apologize!”
Out of fear, August’s remaining forces ran and escaped. Leaving him all alone, surrounded by the invisible allied groups. August, who was too stunned to speak fell in the ground with his eyes corrupted by terror. August’s heart sank in panic and horror, not knowing that everything that had been happening since the very start was an illusion.
“How long are they going to be like that?”
From the beginning, since they stepped into the forest, August and his men were under the illusion. It was the witches’ work. Since nothing happened after their ritual, Efraim thought they had to do something. Thence, he visited the witches’ coven in hope to ask for a little help.
Diyanari, a High Priestess in the certain Witch’s Coven, was the previous leader of the Wesleyeians’ pack friend. They were told that Diyanari owed something to the Wesleyeians, thus, Efraim used it to their advantage to win the war without losing any of them.
They trapped August and his army in an illusion. It was an illusion that would reflect his desires, but to tragically broke their spirits, Efraim specially told the Witches to alter it into their advantage. Now, it was almost dawn, yet, their enemies were still living in the illusion.
“Three days.” Efraim respond.
“That long?” Edward’s brows creased. “What are we going to do to them?”
“We stole all their weapons and transportation. But it will be shameless to harm them while they were unable to defend themselves. “Efraim asserted. “Why don’t we imprison them?”
“They’re a lot. Not to mention they’re still strong.”
“The healers’ blood, Edward.”
Edward lifted his brows. “That could work.”
The Crimson Red were all tied. Right now, they were on the Wesleyeians’ base, eating and drinking like they went here to party and not to fight. At last, the thorn in their chest had been pulled out. They can now sleep at ease, without worrying for a fight that could cost their lives.
“But I’m sure disappointed that after all the preparation, this is how it was going to end.” Axel heaved a deep breath. “After all the plans and training. I did not think we would resort to this kind of solution.”
“But it’s better….” Efraim smiled. “Had we gone to war, I would die.”
“Still doesn’t make this a victory. We technically cheated.”
“So did August and his pack. They made a deal with a human.”
Axel shook his head. “Call Hugo, we’ll need a bigger transportation for the Crimson Red.”
“Well… Axel…” Edward turned to Axel. “There’s still something I haven’t tell you.”
