Axel was the one who formed the formation. Even before he trained the Weslyeians, he had already shared the kind of arrangement he thought of to the Western Border. In which five hundred of them, together with four hundred and fifty of Efraim, and one hundred of Edward, will have to be the army that August will see when they attack.
And the rest will stay hidden in their designed places, until Axel’s signal.
It was a common trap. In war, you should not lay all your cards. It was a basic knowledge. Your ace should be kept until the right time. Axel wanted August to be wary of that. He wanted August to think that they had something under their sleeve. And whilst it was true, he planned that on purpose.
Axel had prepared a layered traps. He set up a bomb. He bought poisons. All kind of fatal and damaging weapon there were. It may have been a double edge sword. But they were too experienced to get burn by their own flame. A lot of times he had pulled unbelievable stunt that could put the pack in danger. But he trusted himself. He trusted his men who were fighting alongside him.
It was how they got the title of the strongest and unwavering pack.
Furthermore, the Wesleyeians prepared something.
The three allied groups arrived at the mountain at noon. Since, they didn’t knew the exact time when August will arrive, they set out early in the morning. The bombs, and traps were already positioned, so all they had to do was to ready their armor, and be prepared to any surprise attack of the enemy.
“One more hour and the sun would exchange position with the moon…” Edward spoke. “You sure it’s going to be today?”
“August and his pack have gotten strong, Edward. He will come today, especially when he knows he have the upper hand.” Axel retorted. “Let’s just hope they’d come in different direction.”
They planted the bombs in every entrance routine of the mountain. If the Crimson Red were to separate themselves to attack in all direction, their number will be sure to decrease.
“That damn coward…” Edward shook his head, opening the lid of the sake he brought. “If only they didn’t make a deal with the human, their bloodline would have been wiped out today.”
“We still have one chance left.” Axel looked behind his shoulder, to gaze in the tent, where the Wesleyeian Elders were in. “If your information is right, we all be saved.”
The Weslyeians Elder were known to be the oldest wolves. The last time, Axel asked Edward to do him another favor of finding out the formula of the drug. It wasn’t an easy feat. But luckily, there was one time August brought the human in their world, and it was how Seraphine, August’s brother mistress, knew the secret formula to it.
Right now, the Wesleyeians Elderswere doing their very best to create something that could weaken the power of the drug they’ve been injected with. Hopefully, before the attack begin, they could come up with something.
“I’m impressed you’re not actually afraid of dying here.” Efraim asserted as he carefully examined Axel’s face. “Our probability of winning was lower than your unborn baby’s age.”
“Because I’m not drying here, Efraim.” Axel returned his gaze to Efraim. “We are not dying here.”
Axel, Efraim, and Edward, were sitting under a tall tree near the open space where the wolves were waiting. It was almost nightfall. From their position, they could barely recognized their own because of the dimmed sky, and dark forest. They were in the middle of the mountain. A spot in their advantage, since they planted a lot of traps and explosives.
“You think we’ll still live?”
“We have a lot of options, Efraim. Losing doesn’t necessarily mean dying. We could retreat if the situation calls for it. Or we can just go for August’s head. Either way, I don’t plan on dying in this war.” Axel rested his back on the tree. “It’s getting dark.”
Edward, who was listening to Efraim and Axel, pulled out his transmission to order his men to start a fire. It was indispensable. Beside the fact that it wouldn’t do them any good, since August and his army were also wolves, who have the ability to see even in the dark. They needed it to communicate to those who were hiding.
“But knowing August, he’ll probably won’t allow us to escape. Especially, my wolves.” Efraim countered.
“I prepared poison gas and masks for that very reason, Efraim. Edward gave us enough for each of us.”
“What if we fail to escape?”
“We won’t.” Axel assured him. “We won’t die here, Efraim. Do not let yourself sink with your thoughts. Given our numbers, even if the Crimson Red are to double their strength, they wouldn’t be able to kill us that easily.”
“The drug indeed put us in a disadvantage, Efraim. But we have enough healers, and experienced wolves on our side.” Edward said in a calm tone. He put the transmission back on his pocket, before drinking on his sake.
No one can tell what await them after the war. They could be killed, as what Efraim feared. They could escape. They could live. Lose. Win. There were a lot of possibilities. But it won’t depend on August’s army but their capabilities.
“Additionally, the Goddess will not sit still. August and his men broke the forbidden role. That should say a lot.”

(EARLIER TODAY)
Sophie continued to arrange the flowers in the vase. Alone in the lair, unaware of Rebecca’s stinking scheme. She was told not to leave the house, so she just entertained herself with the new fresh blossom that she Axel gave her before he left the Palace.
Sophie carefully held each of their stem, to make sure it could still live. For a whole day, or perhaps, two, she’d be locked in this four corners of the room. While doing so, she was thinking about summoning Monique.
“What can I do to keep myself entertained, hmm?” Sophie asked herself, as she continued putting each of the flower in a way that it will not be harmed.
Flora was out to ready her meal. Hugo just left to patrol around. Whilst her aunt and sister, Shara, went back to their house to get another pair of clothes. Without the presences of those she was especially close to, she had no one to talk to but herself.
Sophie selected the the bigger ones she would put first. She put it on the outer, and while placing the little ones on the center to make it look layered. It was a blossom flowers. And Sophie made sure to sink the cutted branches on the water so it will not wilt.
Sophie was busy finishing it, when she heard a knock on the door. Her head immediately turned, hoping it was either Flora, or Hugo. A smile curved in her lips.
“Come in!”
