ASLAN’S POV
My heart sank when I noticed the missing syringe. The only person who had entered the room apart from Tyson was Aurora. What did she need the syringe for?
My search for Aurora led me to Tyson’s room. My eyes widened in horror when I saw him lying unconscious on the floor. Aurora was standing beside him with a victorious expression.
My heart skipped a beat when I saw the empty syringe in her hand. I grabbed her by her shoulders and asked, “You did not…”
“Of course I did. Someone needs to teach this pig-head a lesson.” She said indignantly.
“Are you crazy, Aurora? Do you know what you have done? You attacked the king of dragons! Did you stop to think what he will do once he wakes up?” I gritted out, shaking her up.
“What is the maximum he can do? He will kill me or maybe inject me with the same serum… As if I care… I am already trapped in a living nightmare… Can it get any worse?” Aurora said and shoved me away.
What could I say to her?
I picked Tyson up and laid him on the bed carefully before going in search of the antidote…
Luckily I bumped into Zarina. She used her magic to locate the antidote. It was kept in a locker in the secret chamber. Now, all we had to do was get it out.
The locker had a three-layer security; a magical shield, metal indestructible by fire, and a passcode. It did seem lame that Tyson had passcode protection but that was the only thing we found it difficult to crack.
Zarina broke through the magical shield with ease but she couldn’t get through the passcode. I tried using my powers to melt the locker but it was useless. Zarina even tried using me as a power source to break it open with magic but it didn’t work either.
Now, the only way left was to try a probable passcode. We had three attempts before the locker would self-destruct.
“I have seen this locker before. The passcodes are only characters and mostly use names.” I said observing the panel of the locker.
“Aslan, try mom’s name. Tyson was the closest to her…” Zarina said, rubbing her hands.
I nodded my head and typed ‘Amorea’.
The lights on the locker turned red and started beeping. I let out a deep sigh and tried, ‘Zarina.’
“Damn! Why did you try my name? Don’t you know how much he hates me?”
“I thought he might keep the name of the one he hates the most!” I said shrugging my shoulders.
She glared at me and squinted her eyes. “YOU! Wait till I get back at you…”
I chuckled and got back to the task of thinking names. This was our last attempt.
On a whim, I typed ‘AURORA’
The locker lit up with a navy blue light. It started beeping so shrilly that my heart came to my mouth.
“F***! Looks like it is going to self-destruct.” I said, dragging Zarina to a safe distance.
CALEB’S POV
“Adrian, How many troops have we garnered?”
“Alpha, we have twenty troops of highly skilled human combatants and two troops of werewolves from our pack.”
“Take the twenty troops and attack the Nuama Dragon Base. Equip them with Painite bullets. Kill as many dragon shifters as possible before capturing it. Any questions?”
When I didn’t get a reply, I glanced up from the Digital Plan. Adrian was busy typing something on his phone.
“Any Questions Adrian!” I roared, grasping his shoulders.
The phone dropped from his hand. His face turned pale and he started stuttering, “Alpha… I…. My daughter is ill… I was just informing my wife… I am sorry… I assure you that it will not affect my performance… Please forgive me.”
I drew in deep breaths and forced myself to calm down. I couldn’t afford to lose the game because of this tiny strife. I could punish him once he returned.
I released him and gritted out, “Prepare to leave in ten minutes.”
Now, it was time for Part 2 of the plan. I summoned my Gamma, Meredith. She was a young, lively girl but no one could match her in combat or strategy.
“Alpha.” She greeted as she entered the room.
I noticed her zipper was pulled down revealing her cleavage. She never missed an opportunity to express her intentions.
Letting out a deep sigh, I closed her zipper and said in an even voice, “Prepare to attack the Pearl Palace.”
Her eyes widened in surprise. “Alpha, we are outnumbered. Won’t it be foolish to attack when Adrian is away on another expedition with most of our troops?”
“Nuama Dragon base is close to the palace. Tyson will deploy all his troops to defend the base. He will not expect us to attack the palace at the same time.”
“But, Alpha we must not forget about the Legend of the Palace…They say that its security is impenetrable. The Croton Pack who tried to attack the palace was annihilated by the dragons.”
“Meredith, that was a hundred years ago and they didn’t have Painite or the element of surprise. Believe me; this is going to be an easy win!”
“Still…”
“Go and Prepare, Meredith! This is my order.”
I felt slightly guilty when I saw her crestfallen face but I had to do this. I could win only if they followed my orders to the point.
