Chapter 51

Kyle's POV

“Mother!”

I screamed unconsciously as I saw Miranda lying in a pool of her blood.

Richard was holding a bloody wood with both hands while towering over Miranda who lay down lifelessly.

Bella stood right beside him wearing an evil smile. I saw her mumble some inaudible words to Richard, while he continued his onslaught on his mother.

Miranda was not moving and I feared the worst. Richard continued hitting Miranda on the floor, and Bella was doing nothing to stop him.

My presence did not deter them.

I ran towards them as fast as my legs could carry me. As soon as I was closer to them, Bella threw me a magic spell which I quickly stopped with the wave of my hand.

She seemed surprised that I was able to stop her evil strike and her once confident face turned red.

She looked at me angrily as I rushed over to where Miranda was and discovered she was dead.

I came late.

“Why did you do this?” I screamed at Richard who seem to be clueless about what havoc he had just committed, he just stood there looking blankly at our mother on the floor.

“Who are you, stay out of this” Bella said, shooting me dangerous stares and pushing Richard to stand behind her. She attempted throwing me another strike which of course I also stopped.

“I know this is not the real you, you are hiding behind a mask, unveil yourself and show your face this minute,” she barked at me, bringing herself in a defense mood should in case I decide to strike back.

I completely ignored her and tried walking to where Richard was to talk with him, I wanted to know why he has done this, and why he decided to kill his mother, our mother.

She may have lived a horrible lifestyle but no one deserves this type of death, especially not from the hands of the son she loved so much.

I know there was a time that I too wanted to kill her and my reason was that I was angry and hurt at the fact that she wanted to kill me after all these years of not seeing me.

The feeling of rejection by my mother consumed me, and I acted out of pure anger.

I was angry because I felt she had hurt so many people, but when Nick talked me out of it, I saw sense in what he told me.

Killing one's family no matter what happens has a different effect, it is slightly worse when that person was your mother.

Knowing that after all these years, she still wants me gone made me furious. But with Richard, I wasn't expecting this type of action.

Richard was my mother's golden child, she loved him and made his life comfortable. Why would Richard want to kill his mother?

I don't want to believe that this has anything to do with being the king. it would be too insane to think that he would murder his mother just so he can become the king.

The Richard I know loved and idolized Miranda.

I needed answers and Bella was stopping Richard from talking with me.

After some time, I discovered that Richard was under Bella's magic spell. As he only responded to only what she told him.

“Step away from her, she instructed him, and he immediately did as he was told. Cowardly he moved behind her again for protection.

“Bella what did you do,” I asked as the sad reality dawned on me.

“She was going to kill me, what do you expect me to have done, allow her?” she screamed at me hysterically.

“To spare your life, you made a son kill his mother?” I asked calmly so my words hit her hard, so she can realize the gravity of what she had done.

My words appeared to have touched her a bit, or maybe it was just my imagination as she rolled her eyes and let a loud hiss.

“What does it matter now, she is dead now and Richard is going to be the king and I will be his queen,” she said touching Richard's face romantically.

“what have you done to him, Isabella let him go,” I shouted at her, she appeared surprised that I knew her name.

I have always known Bella to be insensitive and selfish but never did I imagine that she was capable of murder.

Even if I did imagine it, watching her commit one hit me differently.

“ so you know my full name, Who are you and how did you come to know my name, show yourself,” Bella snared at me.

I undid the switching spell and that made Bella gasp in shock.

“Kyle? But how? You were not born a witch, so how come, you can do magic” She questions, stammering some of her words in fright.

I was in no mood to answer her useless question, as I waved my hand and a blast from my hand sent her flying into the dark woods.

I rushed over to Richard was and I could tell he was beginning to regain himself.

“ Richard, snap out of it, it's me kyle, I am your sister, I said tapping his face to enable him to snap out of the spell.

“She said the king is not my father, and that my father was Peter,” Richard kept mumbling as tears littered his face.

The name Peter caught my attention and wanted to hear him tell me who this Peter was. Is it possible that Peter could be my father also?

“Who is peter,” I asked as I continuously tapped his face so he could snap out of Bella's spell.

So many thoughts filled my head as to how Richard could allow himself to be easily manipulated by bella.

But, unknown to me, Bella had appeared behind me, and before I add a chance to fight her, she had pushed me hard against a tree. And before I could get up, she took Richard, and together they disappeared into the night.

I manage to get up and leaped to where my mother was lying lifelessly and my heart broke.

I wondered why life had to be so unfair, she may have been the most terrible person in the world, but she was still my mother. And this is not the last memory I wished I had of her.

I honestly wished it did not have to end this way.

“Help," I called out to Nick through the mind link.

Nick's POV

The sound of bone-cracking filled the air, followed by several howls of pain from all the rogues who were either crawling on their Tommy or had blood dripping from their swollen eyes.

I threw the rogue that was growling under my hold against a wall, and his bones shattered as his head left a bloody splash on the wall.

The hall had turned into a full blow atmosphere of chaos, as some people struggled to get out of the hall. These resulted in pushing, dragging, and falling of people in the various exit unit of the hall.

All the while I planned to go after their leader, the one they call Black,  who was standing at one corner watching me kill his men one after the other.

Coward.

A punch from my right hand to the face of another rogue sent four of his teeth flying off his bloody mouth and he groaned in pain.

I pulled out a chair and smacked it on his head and he fell to his knees, blood spit drooling from his mouth.

While ensuring I kept steady eye contact with the Black, I twisted the neck of the rogue and he was instantly dead as his body fell to the ground like a log of wood.

I could feel my wolf leaping and jumping for joy as I take each of the mother fuckers down, one after the other.

I realized how much I had missed fighting off these mother fuckers and I was not going to rest till I had eliminated all of them from my pack.

I looked at Black and dared him to come and fight me, I was waiting for him to come and fight me along with the few guards he had with him.

But instead, he left through a side door, closely followed by his guards or men.

Coward.

I was about to go after them when I heard kyle call out through the mind link. She sounds very sad and I knew something serious was up,

“Where are you?” I asked as I made my way out of the door. Not minding the bloody shirt I had on.

As soon as she told me where she was, I ran there in no time. I was shocked to see Miranda dead in a pool of blood on the floor.

“Are you alright,” I asked her in panic, as I lifted her to make sure she was not in any way hurt.

“They killed her,” she said in tears.

The word 'they' gave me a bit of calmness as I had feared she had something to do with Miranda's death.

“Who,” I asked searching her eyes as if they held the answers I needed.

“Richard and Bella, I saw them, they beat her to death,” she mumbled in tears as she rested her head on my shoulder.

Her tears broke my heart and I wished there was more I could do than just a resting shoulder. I wished I make her unseen this ugly picture before us.

This is no way to see a relative, Miranda's face was badly beaten up. I could only recognize her by the dress she had which was partly draped in blood.

“Where are they now,” I asked her, after some time.

“They have gone,”

“It's okay, you are not alone in this, we are going to go through this together,” I said reassuring her of my being at her side at all times.

“What do we do, we can't just leave her here,”

“She is your mum, you decide what want and I will follow it to the latter, or we could take her home with us for a proper burial,” I said.

She looks surprised while sniffing her nose.

“This is your home, you can't leave it for anyone, not for Richard, and not for that untamed beast who wants to be king,”

“So what would you have me do,"

“Fight, I want you to fight for your rightful place on the throne, you are the only one and true heir. So it is your right to sit on the throne of your father, I will stand by you no matter what,” she said staring deep into my eyes.

“I don't want to lose you,

“You won't, I am always going to be by your side"

“But it's just the two of us against Black, Richard, and every other person that may want to ascend the throne,”

“And who said it's just the two of you,” someone asked in an older voice from behind us.

We turned to see that it was the same old man that has been lurking around our hut in the woods. He had our squirrel resting peacefully on his shoulder while he spoke.

Kyle and I exchanged glances as questions as to how the old man got here filled our minds.

“Who are you," I asked as I pushed kyle behind me for defense purposes.

“We,” he said pointing to the squirrel, “are the solution to your problems,” he added with a smile.
