Nick's POV
I stood up from the chair I had barely sat on for thirty seconds, to start walking the reception hall of our pack hospital aimlessly.
If my fingers could pull out my hair, it would have, due to the countless number of times I had run my fingers through it.
The doctors and nurses were running around, and the wait to know what was happening was killing me.
What happened to her, has she been poisoned and who did this? These and other questions rushed through my mind.
I will not spare anyone who dares me, I will not rest until I see such a person entire linage wiped away from the surface of the earth.
Simeon stood looking speechless and nervous. His head is tilted up with his back resting against a wall.
He had rushed down to the hospital as soon as he heard Kyle was not feeling well.
It's been fucking one hour since we arrived and no one has told us anything as regards her condition. I can see tension and fear in the eyes of the nurses as they moved around in haste.
I would have loosed my cool by now if not that she was been attended to by the most senior doctor in the hospital. I hope for his sake that he knows what he is doing.
After some time, the doctor finally came out of the room she had been admitted to. He has this professional look on his face that seems not to give anything about what is happening away.
Simeon and I rushed toward him as we were both curious to know how Kyle was doing.
“What's going on,” I asked in a hurry.
“So sorry we had to keep you waiting for this long Alpha, we are waiting for the test result. But she is currently sleeping,” he said calmly.
His words were a bit relaxing in the sense that he said she was sleeping now Which is a good thing.
I think.
But not completely as relaxing as I would want it to be, as I still wanted to know what the issue was. I was with her earlier and she didn't show any sign of illness, she was lively and even smiled at me before I left.
“What is wrong with her,” I asked curiously.
“Well, after the examinations we carried out on her, I have my assumptions but I will rather suggest that we wait till the results come out,” he said professionally.
In as much as the doctor tries his best to be composed and professional but one cannot help but notice the tension in his voice and demeanor.
People are often scared of their Alphas, and how temperamental they can be. I have never liked the idea of my subject being scared of me, I don't want them to see me as a monster that they need to be scared of.
I will rather have them see me as a leader that has been destined to lead them, and not some piece of authoritative chap, that screams and barks in everyone's face.
Maybe in a different time and scenario, I could make him understand that he needs not be scared of me.
But now is not the time.
“Can I go in and see her now,” I asked, even though I know I didn't have to. I was only trying to respect the doctor's professional ethics, I may be the alpha, but that does not make me the all-knowing demi-god.
“Yes of course, but if you don't mind my alpha, I will suggest you don't wake her up as she would need all the rest she can get right now,” he said calmly.
I was about to go into the room when the doctor stopped me after he saw a nurse approaching with a file in her hand.
“The results are here,” he said as he collects the files to scan through the contents.
His eyes immediately brighten up as soon as he opens a particular paper and he smiles to look at me.
“Congratulations Alpha, she is pregnant about three weeks pregnant,” he said with a bolder smile.
My eyes immediately flashed with happiness as of all the things that had been going through my mind, pregnancy never crept in for once.
“I am going to be a dad,” I said unconsciously as I placed both hands on my head in shock.
“Congratulations Alpha,” he said again out of joy.
“Thank you,” I said to the doctor as I let out a deep sigh of relief.
Simeon was grinning from ear to ear, “congratulations man,” I watched him struggle to say, but most of the words came out in grumpy sounds, but the fact that he was making an effort made me more than happy.
I went into the room Kyle was in, closely followed by the doctor and Simeon.
I was surprised at the number of machines and IVs that were fixed all over her body.
“I thought you said she was alright,” I quickly asked the doctor out of panic.
“Yes, she is fine, like I said earlier, we already suspected that she was pregnant after our examination. And that is why we decided to give her a quick boost of nutrients to stabilize her energy level, the machines are just to monitor her heartbeat and how she is reacting to the drugs” he said reassuringly.
“I will suggest you leave her to sleep, for now, you can come back in the morning when she is awake, we will do all within our strength to make sure that she gets all that she needs while she is with us,” he said.
“Thanks, but I will want to be here when she wakes up,” I said not liking the idea of leaving her all alone, especially not now when she is pregnant with my baby.
“As you wish, I will see to it that all necessary preparation be made for your comfort, he said before attempting to walk out of the room, but I stopped him.
“Doctor, please if you don't mind, I would want you to go back to the party and inform everyone that she is alright and that there is no reason for panic, and also I would want us to keep this pregnancy news a secret for now till she is ready to announce and make it know to everyone,” I said to the doctor who was listening with his full attention.
Yes Alpha, he said, before walking out of the room.
“Simeon why don't you go and join your mate, I will be fine by myself,” I said to simeon who I can see from his expression that he wanted to stay with me.
“Call me as soon as you need me, he said with a sign.
“I will, thank you,” I replied to him with a tap on his shoulder, after that he walked out of the room.
I walked over to her bedside and pulled out a chair closer to her bed space to seat on.
I watch as she sleeps peacefully, her chest rose and fell in a rhythmic pattern and I was more than amazed at the thought that my child was growing right now inside her womb.

Kyle's POV
I woke up in the middle of the night to see that I was laying down in a hospital bed. I was feeling a lot better but was still concerned about what happened to me.
I had been having lots of headaches, mood swings, and cramps in the past few days.
I also noticed I was no longer liking the food and snacks that I normally enjoy.
But, I have never really paid much attention to it as I felt it might be a result of all that I have gone through recently.
But never did imagine that it would land me in a hospital bed. My mate was sleeping and resting his head on the edge of the bed I was on. His scent was calm and relaxing.
I also silently wished deep in my heart that it had nothing to do with the heart surgery, I would hate to have to go through that pain again.
After some time, I saw my mate gradually waking up. He was looking so cute with his sleepy eyes resting on me. I feel truly blessed to have him as my mate.
“Hey,” I said to him with a smile.
“Hey beautiful,” he replied with an infectious smile while attempting to wipe the sleep from his eyes.
“Sorry for putting you through the stress,” I said, as I felt bad that he had to sleep in that position he was.
“You can never stress me, babe, it's so good to see that you are feeling better now, you scared me,” he said looking at me in the eyes. His stares makes me nervous as I could feel my cheeks heating up already.
“I'm sorry about that, I didn't mean to,” I said shyly.
“It's alright, I know it's not your fault,”
“Why didn't you call me earlier,”
“I thought I could handle myself, I didn't want to disturb you,”
“Please next time, I don't care wherever I may be or whoever I am with, you must keep me in the know of whatever that is going with you, is that clear,”
“Yes Alpha,” I said teasingly and that made him smile as he place soft kisses on my cheeks.
“What did the doctor say is wrong with me this time,” I asked the dreaded question, even though I was scared of what he might say.
“He said you are pregnant,” he said with a smile.
“What?” I asked unbelievably surprised.
“Yes, you are pregnant with my baby,” he said with the joyful face
“Are you happy?” I asked, as I was so dumb on what to say or do, I mean I am pregnant, what am I supposed to do.
“More than words can express,” he said placing kisses on my hand.
“Is there anything you need,” he asked me after some time of watching me.
“No, I'm okay, just a bit hungry though, but I can wait it out till morning”
No, you can't, you are pregnant, if you are hungry, it means our baby is hungry also, so I will get you something to snack on,” he said standing up and making to go out when I stopped him by holding on to his right hand.
I love you I said with a smile.
“I loved you first Kyle, my Luna. you drive me crazy,” he said smiling back at me.
After which he bends to kiss me gently on my lips and it was beautiful.
So beautiful that if I wasn't in a hospital bed, hmmm, it would have led to something else I think.
