‘W-what was that?’ I asked myself before bravely opening my eyes to check where the sound was coming from.
“W-who?”
It was already dark so I could not recognize the man who was standing in front of me.
Plus, I am facing his back so it is impossible to recognize him with his back alone.
Since the maniac is already on the ground I am pretty sure that this mysterious man is the reason behind it.
“Get lost!” I heard him shout which made the other man run for his life.
I suddenly felt my knees trembling not because of fear but because of relief.
Finally, I really thought I was going to die again.
“Are you okay?”
“C-cypress?” I stuttered after he walked closer to me.
It is then when I realized that my saviour was our class president! The only man who did not treat me as a half-ling in School.
Before I could even react he quickly pulled his coat from him and covered it to my body.
“Thank you,” I managed to say even though my voice is still shaking.
“Let me take you home,” he stated before guiding me to a car not far from the waiting shed.
The whole travel was silent.
Maybe he sensed that I do not want to talk anything about what happened a while back so he decided to keep quiet about it.
A while after the car stopped and I realized that we were already outside of our house.
“U-uh.”
“You do not have to explain. I know that you are tired so just go home and rest. See you in school tomorrow,” he continuously advised which released the heavy load inside my heart.
I slightly smiled at him before nodding my head and getting out of the car.
I then waited for him until his car was not on the view before turning around to enter our house.
“So...”
I almost fell on the ground when I realized that I was not alone.
“Ash?” I asked in shock but he only smirked.
I noticed him walking closer to me but I was not afraid of him anymore.
I stood there firmly, waiting for him to do whatever he wanted to do.
But I was surprised when I saw sadness in his eyes.
“Is he your boyfriend?”
“H-huh?”
He laughed like I said something funny.
Ash then raised his finger and pointed at my stomach which I immediately understood.
“You are mistaken,” I explained.
“Then what? You were with him in the middle of the night. Who knows what you two have done before he brought you home,” he continuously stated which made me look at him in disbelief.
I however sighed and gave up.
“Think whatever you want to think. I am exhausted and do not want to argue with you anymore,” I weakly replied and was about to walk pass through him when he suddenly pulled my jacket forcefully.
I watched the jacket flew away on the road before slowly looking at him in dismay.
He looked shocked and confused.
“Are you happy now?” I asked but did not realize that tears were already falling from my eyes.
“Look at me!” I screamed at the top of my lungs after he bowed his head.
“You left me in the middle of the road and expected me to return safe? F*ck you.”
It was my first time to cuss but it felt satisfying.
It feels like half of my resentment to this man faded away.
I left him dumbfounded and straightly walked towards our house.
As soon as I switched on the light I saw a note in front saying my parents are away again.
* sigh
My parents are field doctors and when they were called they needed to leave without me.
The longest time that they were away was 6 months when I was in grade 6.
And the shortest time was last year which was 4 weeks.
Well, believe it or not I can take care of myself as I have been used to being left alone by my parents.
Usually, they would call me once a week and when I needed something they will ask someone to tend to my needs.
I knew they are only doing their works but I just can not help myself from feeling sad whenever they choose their work over me.
Especially after everything that happened lately.
* sigh
Stop being dramatic and just go to bed.

“What?!”
Cassine jumped from the bench after I shouted in disbelief.
“S-sorry. I was just surprised,” I said after calming down and pulling her back to the bench.
My heart suddenly raced after hearing about our activity this time. We will be conducting team building and when it comes to our instructor’s team building activities it will make you pray for your life.
“What is really wrong with you these days Myrtle. You have been acting weird. In the past, you were so excited when we have activities in physical education. Why do you seemed bothered lately?” Cassine asked.
I however sighed and secretly looked at my stomach.
Everything changed Cassine, I have someone depending on me so I should always be careful.
“N-nothing, I just feel tired. Maybe I will ask our instructor for consideration,” I explained.
“Again? You have been asking for considerations for 2 weeks,” she replied but I only shrugged my shoulders before making her wait.
I then breathed deeply before calling for our instructor.
“Hmmm, miss Cactaceace what is it again?” He asked.
I knew he already knew why I walked up to him and I can see that he is not satisfied about it.
“S-sir... uhm, can I...”
“I am sorry miss Cactaceace but you have been asking for considerations these past 2 weeks and I do not know where I can get points to put in your record. Do you want to fail in my class?” He asked.
“B-but sir I...”
“Like I said. If you still do not want to join my class then better yet drop it. Your class mates were already complaining.”
Before I could even respond he looked away and started clapping his hands to call for the class’ attention.
“Gather!”
Everyone heard him and started walking to their own lines.
I on the other hand had no choice but stand on my group's line.
They even looked at me like they were disgusted. Luckily, Cypress is in my group so I have someone in my side.
"Okay before we..."
Our instructor got disrupted after Ash suddenly whispered something in his ears.
They then walked not far from the stage and made us wait.
"Hey, this is the first time that Ash spoke to the instructor. What do you think is it about?"
Tsh, whatever it is I am sure that he only wanted to become a star.
