Chapter # 48

I need to find the source of Tyler’s obstinacy towards me, the reason why he is so possessive about me.

Those words of doing everything to get me are causing a distortion in my mind and I cannot comprehend my fate which bound me with him.

‘Was it fate or… his planning?’

It has now begun to evoke dismay in me and made my belief of him being so obsessed with me even before our marriage firm.

Or else why would he cross such limits?

He must have been limitlessly passionate about me to reach the point where he wants me all to himself.

‘What exactly did you do?’

To clear my doubts, I know what to do.

Deep down, I hope what I am thinking might be wrong or else it would freak me out to think how Tyler knows me before.

How he developed such attractive emotions about me. And what is wrong with me, why am I considering it love but not a stain?

I took a deep breath, since I am grounded in the room, I couldn’t go out.

I peeked outside and thought Tyler left for work so I called the least person I wanted to, I unblocked Leon’s number and called him.

I shivered and sighed, it’s okay. You can do this.

“Hello..?” His voice came slightly disturbed.

“When you were marrying me for money, why did you cheat at the very end? When you said you will be loyal then why?” I asked coldly.

Now that I think about it, it’s odd for him to do this. Why would he go?

He wanted me as a showpiece to the point of buying me indirectly but leaving me at the very end.

“C-Candice? Y-You? You shouldn’t have called me… I-If.. he came to k-know.. He will d-do the w-worst to me.” He stuttered.

Voice slumped in fright. Hearing his tone gave me a bad omen.

Who could have embedded such terror in his heart?

“Who are you talking about?” I asked, biting my lips in nervousness. I was looking out and found Tyler’s car still here.

Shit.

He is still in the home.

“T-Ty-Tyler.. Your husband.” He said what I was dreading to hear.

Tyler has really done through the unimaginable only to make me his.

My eyes widened in stagger not believing Tyler with a gallant personality did this behind my back.

What am I to him that he is so attached to?

“Tyer? What did he do? Tell me.” I demanded.

“Candice.” I gasped, my hands and feet turned cold as my mind froze to hear Tyler’s voice.

With a shaky breath and the disruption wrecking in my mind, I couldn't move. In his presence my whole being stiff.

“T-Tyler…”

Apprehension rushed in my veins, with a shallow breath I turned to see Tyler coming closer.

A convulsion anticipated by the fact what will happen went down my core.

“Hmm?” I looked at him timidly when he took the phone from my hand without breaking the intense gaze which made my heart beat swiftly and put the phone on the speaker.

"-Can you hear me?.. Tyler is the one… who gave me double money to leave you… he.. He threatened me.. because he knew we are getting married for money-"

Leon began to explain, my breath turned into a pant, I pressed my palm against the cold wall with tears brimming in my eyes.

Blurring my vision but still his stern gaze on Mr was crystal, breaking my posture as what I feared became true.

Tyler cut the call and put my phone in his pocket, eyes narrowing at me slowly.

My whole being stopped functioning, quivering, on the verge of breaking as a tear rolled down my cheek, horrified.

"So.. You were talking to your ex-fiance?" He asked, voice low but filled with maliciousness.

My breath hitched, whispering, "Tyler… what have you done for me?" I asked.

His features hardened, putting hands on the wall, closing the gap and leaning too close to my face.

"You have lost the right to question me." He growled. I pulled his collar, speaking in a croaked voice.

"Tyler.. Please.." I desperately wanted to know since when he fell for me.

"Shh." He hushed me, putting his index finger on my lips.

"So you remembered him finally.. Now you have heard it. What would you do? Leave me? Huh?" He snickered.

I shook my head in denial, holding him tightly, shaking in dismay.

"Tell me… what did you do?" I asked again. His lips curved from one side ominously, letting out an unnerving suppressed laugh.

Inducing silent chaos in my mind, continuing, "Ah, sweetheart, I have done much more than that for you."

"W-What do you mean?" I reluctantly asked, shaking in distress blended with the fatality of his gaze.

Tyler enclasped me in his arms, pressing his body against mine with his hot breath lingering on my neck, forming goosebumps over my skin.

"You better stay quiet." He commanded.

"I want to know." I spoke in the same tone. Even feeling frightened, I still have firm faith he won't hurt me. That I am secure.

"Tell me!"

"Everything." He whispered. I shivered at one word.

"How do you know me?" I asked.

He put his hand on my shoulder, sending shudders to my body, " My patience Candice.."

He brought his hand down, tracing his fingers over my skin, giving me immense quivers.

“Is on the verge of breaking now…” He trailed off, lifting my chin with the other hand, staring deeply into my eyes.

“Make sure I won’t do anything…” He leaned down, brushing my lips against his.

“That leaves you incapable of speaking anything but… my name.” His husky voice made my heart skip a beat.

He abruptly gripped my ahirs, taking me in a vehement kiss. I curled my hands in a fist over his shirt.

A tear rolled down my cheek which softened his strained actions, calming down gradually while moving his lips upon mine.

Converting the rough kiss into a tender one and pulling away slowly while speaking breathlessly.

“You are mine Candice. Engrave this in your mind… understood?”

Vulnerable against his presence, my voice came out like a whimper. “Y-Yes…”

Even his breaths came out like intoxicating, I could feel the instant solace he received hidden by thick walls of belonging.

“Don’t you ever forget it.” He warned.

I felt it but all of it gave me undesirable anxiety. I don’t want him to be like this anymore.

I want my Tyler back.

“I-I understand..”

The Tyler who gathered in my arms, who worshiped my smiles, perished by love, the prayer he made every second and to get him back.

To sway in the wind of his love, I would do everything I could. I can’t live with this person. I need my Tyler back.

He also loved me back then before but it was mesmerizing. I have to become the depiction of his emotions again.

Gain new splendor in his heart… because he is still the Tyler I fell in love with.

This darkness is my fault, that my sorrows are increasing but could I have done?

Everything happened too quickly.

I saw my brother being shot and came to know about my Husband’s dark secret at the same time, it was too much for me to take.

Tyler left, I remained in the room doing nothing, lost in thoughts.

The next day, I was sitting on the bed, watching Tyler getting ready. “Tyler…” I called him.

He hummed, not looking at me.

“Can I have breakfast with you?” I asked softly, looking at him innocently.

“No.” He replied coldly.

“Please…” I asked him.

“No.”

My lips curved upwards in a faint smile.

‘I am still your Candice, you could never resist me.’

“Then, would you have breakfast with me?” I asked expectantly, getting up.

“Look Candice-” He turned to look at me, I was standing in front of him, holding his coat and closing its buttons.

“Please.” I asked.

He looked at me for a few seconds, “We wouldn’t like it if Papa leaves hungry, would we?” I asked cutely.

His eyes traveled down to my stomach which finally began to grow and then back to me.

Suppressing his amusing face while I continued to stare at him intensely.

“Fine.” He muttered, rolling his eyes.

“Yay!” I grinned and hugged him.

“What’s with you?” He asked.

“Mood swings.” I winked. He sighed and sat down beside me.

We were having breakfast, I continued to look at him, he noticed my look at him and asked.

“Why are you looking at me like this? Just yesterday you were-”

“You must be crazy to choose me.” I mumbled.

He raised a brow, “What?”

“Your choice is so bad.” I mumbled again.

“Of all hot girls, Me. A waitress. You must have seen lots of seductresses.”

“Did you hit your head?”

“Literally the worst choice.” I continued.

He gave me a weird look, I put my hand in front of him, “My phone.” I asked.

“Are you doing this to get your phone back?” He asked.

To get you back. I nodded. He shook his head and pointed at the drawer.

“Oh okay.” I smiled.

He got up and was about to leave, “Tyler…”

I called him. “Hmm?”

“Can you get me a brownie on your way home?” I asked.

He stared at me for a few seconds, not apprehending what’s happening to me and sighed deeply.

“Fine.”
