Playing an unfair game and vanishing all my dolor, wrath, literally everything into thin air in one night.
Because she is my Candice after all, how can I stay away from her divine presence? She surely knows how to blind me in her allure.
And I bend my knees against everything, left with nothing. I should have expected it.
I Can't do this but still I feel repentant for treating her like this, Being this over possessive and inducing fright in her heart.
There’s no meaning to being angry anymore.
Candice fell asleep with her head on my laps while I played the piano. I took her back to our room and gently laid her down.
“I am sorry, Love.” I whispered in her ears, kissing her forehead, penitence emerged from me.
How can I treat the person I love deeply like this?
The next day, I woke up before her and took a shower, walking out wearing my trousers, deciding to take a day off.
I should spend time with her to make up for my stupid actions.
Water dripped from my body when I walked out and saw Candice had woken up with a scarlet color adorning her face.
I smirked knowing even after such a while she still got flushed seeing me shirtless.
Lowering her gaze shyly she mumbled, “Thank you for playing it for me.”
I smiled and came to her.
The blush still lingering on her adorable face, not meeting my gaze as I sat aside her and held her hands.
“I am sorry, Candice.” I whispered, kissing the back of her palm.
She looked at me in slight stagger, blinking while I continued to bore my orbs into hers with no intention of leaving me salvation.
“Huh?”
“I shouldn’t have treated you like this. I don’t know what took over me… The thought of losing you terrified me and did all this. I am sorry.” I whispered, tightening my grip over her hand.
“But I promise you now, I will never let it happen again. I will try my best to be the person you always dream of.”
I smiled, circling my thumb over her as a smile gradually crept upon her lips.
“Thank you.” She smiled, moving closer and hugging me.
I effusively welcomed the warmth which never fails to provide me endless satisfaction and rubbed her back.
“Thank you.” I replied and pulled away.
“Get ready, I will make something for you.” I smiled, getting up.
“You know how to cook?” She asked.
“Nope. But I can make an omelet and toast.” I grinned.
“And a cup of tea, if you want.” I added, making her chuckle.
“Sure.” She smiled and got out.
We had breakfast which I made including extra salt which gave the omelet a very bad taste and I realized my cooking sucks but she ate anyway.
“You don’t have to.” I told Candice who was eating that awfully made omelet.
“Why? You made it for me.” She mumbled while eating it.
“But it’s not good.” I reasoned.
“It’s fine.” She smiled as I sighed.
“Aren’t you going to work today?” She asked.
“Nah. I want to spend time with you.” I smiled, pinching her cheeks.
“Ah… I guess Sophie had her baby shower?” She asked.
“Yeah… sorry, I couldn't take you there.” I apologize.
“Oh, it’s okay? Her delivery can happen anytime now.” She said and I nodded.
“What do you prefer Tyler? A girl or a boy?” She asked with her eyes glimmering in admiration.
“I prefer a girl,” I replied.
“Why not a boy?” She asked.
“Hmm.. It’s not like I don’t want a son, I do but my heart wants a girl. I will love it when I will say ‘I have been brought up like a queen.’... I don’t know. I just want it.”
I chuckled, shaking my head. She giggled and put her hand over mine.
“Tyler…” She called me, I looked at her.
With a mesmerizing soft smile, she spoke up, “I should have asked this before but… who do you have in your family?” She asked.
“I have you and my sister.” I replied.
“Where is she?”
“She lives abroad.” I replied. She hummed.
“Tyler… I know it’s been a while since that day but… why did you cry while playing piano?” She asked.
I looked away, “I just remembered about my ex-girlfriend.” I muttered.
“What happened to her?”
“She was killed on the day of our marriage.” Her grip tightened on my hand, passing my an assuring smile.
“I am with you.” She whispered.
“I know.”
“How did it happen?”
‘She got what she deserves.’ I thought about replying but remained silent.
“Where is your-” I cut her off, “How about we go for a walk?”
I offered with a smile. She smiled back and nodded, “Sure.”
We went to the park holding hands, intertwining fingers feeling perfect as if they died for her tenderness, tangling and existing for her only.
“Do you want cotton candy?” I asked.
She grinned, “Yup.”
I chuckled, “Okay.”
Kissing her forehead I brought her a cotton candy.
She offered me a bite, “Mhm.. do you want it?” She asked, putting it close to my mouth.
My heart skipped a beat remembering the time when we weren’t married and she wiped it from my lips.
I tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear and kissed her forehead.
“You are my treasure.” I whispered, ruffling her hair as after walking around for a while, I went home.
In the night, I want to do something special for her to redeem my mistake so I set the rooftop by adorning it with some roses and lavenders.
Put a pizza and coke on the table and went to get her. I entered our room and saw her brushing her hair, doing her night routine before sleeping.
I walked up to her and put my hands over her shoulder.
“Come with me.” I said, standing her up and taking her with me.
“Where are we going?” She asked with a nervous laugh but I pulled her close and picked her bridal style.
“Careful!” She squeaked, holding my shoulder.
“I am, sweetheart.” I winked and took her with me.
“You’re heavy.”
“Who told you to pick me, huh?” She giggled, kissing my cheeks. I then took her to the rooftop and put her down.
She gasped slightly with a grin forming over her face, elated by the sight, I hugged her from behind.
“I love you.”
