Chapter ~Sign the divorce~

~Sign the divorce~

Aku stayed up all night brooding over her predicament. She had wailed and exhausted her energy on thought and emotion. It was unheard of to get divorced just two days after her wedding.

She raised the divorce papers, grinned and shut her eyes shamefully. She caught sight of a pen by the corner and she felt quite heavy to reach to it.

“How could I be pregnant for a man whose identity is unknown? I have only known Steve and Mr. President most recently and Steve only fucked me once with condom…” she paused, stared thoughtfully in the space as an idea hit her in the head. “I knew it. Mr. President forged it all to get rid of me and marry another bitch Isn’t it obvious it is the handiwork of he and Senator Madu to get back at me. Are they not politicians?”

She was yet speaking within herself when she heard a siren wail outside and she hastily wiped her tears to welcome Mr. President.

When she curled up at the window, she could see a convoy with a distinct Rolls Royce car parked separately. Mr. President stood upon huge thunderous countenance. She had never seen him in joggers pants, sneakers and T-shirt before. But nothing made sense to her than the short Indian in tuxedo that accompanied him.

She returned to the sofa and pulled back into a sober mood, with the divorce papers and pen handy.

The door creaked and he barged in with his entourage. “Have you signed the divorce papers?” he queried.

Her lips shook with peril. The pen trembled within her hold and she sniffed back her phloem.

“I suggest we rerun the DNA meticulously!”

“There is nothing to rerun, bitch!” he snapped, doctor Ephraim is my personal doctor, who has been at the Presidential Villa even before my administration. Are you more meticulous than he is? He did that test even without my asking. Isn’t that enough evidence to prove to you he is eloquent enough?”

At the time Aku had her hands on her chin, writhing in pain and disappointment. The pen was being fondle with now as she sobbed upon her breath.

“I hope you have perused through the divorce papers. I am not going to carter for twin babies I know nothing of. You have been fucking other men. It is in your best interest to brood over the man you have been fucking and return too him. But before that I have come to receive the divorce papers . Have you signed them?”

In response, Aku wailed and gagged her mouth with her hands. She wanted to utter a word but stuttered beneath her breath.

“OK I will take your silence for a yes. If you have gone through the divorce papers you will realize I allocated thirty percent of my earnings to you , a car and a house and monthly stipends of fifty thousand dollars.”

He clicked his fingers and one of his aides paced to his side with a bag.

“Hand it over to her,” he ordered and the aide obeyed instantly, “In that bag you will find all of that. This house belongs to you now and the key is for the Rolls Royce parked outside. If you need more benefits you ring me. I don’t want to see your fucking face at the villa. The divorce papers, please?” he obliged.

Aku broke down in even more terrifying tears, that droplets of tears trickled to the papers as she struggled to sign them.

Her jaw waggled within her face. She wanted to mutter her apology. She had tons of apology up her gut that she wouldn’t mind to lick his feet. She had fallen in love with his person and calling it a quit in this way was going to suck her into devastation. She really wanted to explain.

She had heard of marriages saying good bye but today she was signing good bye. Her last scribble etched across the papers and she let the pen roll across the floor.

“Get me the divorce papers,” Mr. President ordered his aides, had one last stare at the wedding ring on her fingers before walking out through the door.

“I am sorry, please - I am sorry. Forgive…” she wailed, stretching her hands towards the direction of the door.

All she could hear now was the screeching of tyres on the road. Mr. President had left her for good.

She pulled her body into the bathroom, turned on the shower on herself and wailed on end. She was staring at the wedding ring on her fingers now. She couldn’t believe three days ago she was all joyful and full of life about being pregnant with his twins and the marriage plan. She just couldn’t relate her dilemma with her success. Everything had happened at the wave of the magic wand.

It was as though it was staged but it wasn’t. She could hit her chest that Steve fucked her only but once with a condom, and Mr. President had been the only man fucking her skin-to-skin.

How possible was it for her to get pregnant to a man without identity. She had always been intact. She hadn’t clubbed for long. She hadn’t seen the dick of men that wanted her for a one night stand.

“He is responsible for my twins. He is! Why did you do this to me? Why Mr. President? You want to leave me for some other bitch? Now I knew how much you love me! Now I know what you have been planning all along! Now …” she couldn’t continue as heavy sobbing interrupted her with cough.

She caught hold of the wedding ring and started pulling it out of her finger. She brought it to her gaze, wailed hugely and let it drop into the toilet seater before flushing it.

She just couldn’t stop wailing because memory of Mr. President couldn’t be flushed from her mind…
