He inwardly decided not to reveal a thing about the circumstances surrounding the pregnancy.

Steve wiped his tears, felt burnt on his toes as cold spines dragged across his body. “Please I want you to help me convince her about my marriage proposal. Tell her I want to marry her.”
“Oh stop this Steve!” she snapped, “You are the man here. You have to stand bold and propose to her, even though she is your boss. I know you are scared of being slapped or yelled at. The fact remains that even if she spills hot soup at you, you have to make the proposal yourself. Be a man.”
“I am just scared of losing my job after the proposal,” said Steve as he broke down in heavy tears, recalling the fact that unknown to everyone Aku was carrying his child, a secret he would have to fight with all his life.”
“Even if you lose your job, at least you have proven your love for her. This marriage proposal would have to be the last feat of your love for her which you must prove. If you fail, you win, if you succeed you win,” Gabriela said, drifted close to him, patted him on the shoulders and about walking away, Aku knocked into the office in her high heels.
Quickly Steve pocketed the engagement ring and adjusted within himself.
“How are you guys doing, Steve, Gabriela?” she asked
“We are fine, boss!” he replied, bowing.
