Chapter ~DNA test~

~DNA test~

Gabriela stared deadly at him. Her entire body, at this time, had been suffused with sweat that she couldn’t stay at a spot rather she paced up and down the toilet.

“You fucked me in Brasilia and you were convinced that I have a child for you, uh are you that daft, Azuaka? Or are you rather pained that I left your godforsaken news paper house for Sexy Model News paper?”

He etched a smile across his glistened face. “You don’t seem to amaze me. I don’t bloody care if you resigned as my staff or not. Haven’t I been thriving without your damn ass? Oh yes, I have! You know the truth. I overheard you murmuring about my being responsible for your pregnancy. Isn’t that enough truth?”

You are just blabbing as a frustrated soul. Peril has befallen you and your wife and you think my only child is going to be your escape route, uh? Lucas is fathering that boy now and we are happy over it. Please don’t get my marriage ruined with your ill-fate. You can use the door Azuaka and never to appear in my life again.”

He interjected, “You must be stupid to think that I am going to leave this party ground without my son. I have come for him. You can tell me what it cost you to take care of him in these three years, and I will pay. But to tell me to return home without my son, it is impossible, Gabriela. Today marks the end to this struggle…”

“You are silly Azuaka. You may have to meet me in court…”

Oh really before we go to court why don’t you join me tomorrow at the hospital where I will run a DNA test to confirm paternity of that boy.”

“I am joining you nowhere. Go to hell, Azuaka and let me be!”

She barked at him and about to open the door, Azuaka threatened her…

“I think your husband will be in a better position to resolve this struggle. I am grateful he has regained his sight at least he can deduce that boy resembles no other person than me.” He walked to the door. “He is a man like me. I will go straight away and brief him what has been going on between us.”

Gabriela shyly held him on the wrist. “Ok tomorrow at 9AM I will be with you at the hospital but have it in mind we will have a peaceful dialogue over this. Please take my husband out of it…”

Azuaka ignored her, pushed her out of his way and slammed the door.

Gabriela fell on her knees, had her hands on her head and broke down in tears. She thought Azuaka had let go of this whole thing. What would have prompted him to remember what happened three years ago. Although Azuaka had not conducted a DNA test with Duncan but she was scared of tomorrow’s outcome. She was in the middle of the devil and the deep blue sea now.

She wept bitterly all day, locked up herself in the bedroom and lost interest in life. Azuaka had reappeared to abort her joy. How would she explain to her husband, Duncan wasn’t his child? How would she put up with the shame and ridicule of cheating on Lucas?

Cute pearl,” Lucas called Duncan, squatted to him and stamped a kiss on his brow. “I am profoundly grateful to see you celebrate your birthday.”

Duncan smiled on end and shyly fondled with the hem of his jacket, “Thank you Big Papa. You and mom made it possible,” his childish innocent voice rang out. “I have the best parents in the world.”

“Also I have the best and smartest son in the world. You mean a whole lot to me, Cute pearl…” he tilted back his face when Duncan interjected with a frown.

“But big papa when am I going to have siblings? It seems you and mom are done bearing children.”

Lucas dragged him and kissed him on the skull. He was all smiles as he inwardly cooked up what to reply him, “You don’t worry, mom and I will give you siblings that will keep you happy and busy.”

Duncan raised his palm and gave him a high-five, “That is my daddy.” He dragged a smiling face and lent forward to drop kiss on his chin.”I love you big papa.” He held his face, “I hope to have you as my father in my next world. You rock.”

“Same with me, son, you will continue to be my inestimable son. I will give you the best life can offer. I love you Cute pearl,” he groaned and fought back the urge to shed tears of joy.

“I love you Big Papa,” he responded and they hugged eternally and passionately.

All along Gabriela had been peeping at them from a corner. It was by grace that she held back the drive to burst into a cry. She couldn’t withstand the moment. If by tomorrow Azuaka tested positive to DNA, Lucas would have to face the bitter truth and she wondered how she was going to present to Lucas that a boy that had known him in these three years as Big Papa wasn’t his, but Azuaka’s she had committed the worst unforgiveable sin. It was end of the road for her.

Lucas wouldn’t take it easy. He had come to love and cherish Duncan his son. The father-child bond had built so much that parting was an impossible negotiation.

Unable to keep peeping at them, Gabriela broke down in tears and hated herself greatly. She was just about to lose everything now…
