CHAPTER 111
ALPHA LINCOLN'S POV
With each heavy footfall, I went back into my home, straight to my room, headed for the bathroom, no stopping.
My brows were furrowed with the deep lines of stress and anguish as I got undressed. There was this rage inside of me, I could not control.
I stepped into my bathroom, looking at myself in the mirror. I really do look like a mess.
But I also knew I was close to finding Montana, I would be soon and I will find her.
"Just hang on a little bit longer, my love."
The air was thick with the scent of warm water and fragrant oils, and with trembling hands I removed the remaining garment I had on.
Lowering myself into the steaming water, I closed my eyes, imagining that Montana was here with me, in my arms. I also wondered if she had been able to get a good bath.
More bad thoughts about her suffering started coming, I tried to stop my mind from thinking those, but it did not work.
I soon tensed up so much to the point I thought the air was fighting me and trying to suffocate me.
I closed my eyes, now remembering good things and good times Montana and I had spent together. Especially our time in France.
It made me relax as I lowered more I to the tub, the water enveloping me and the tension that had coiled tightly within my muscles started to unravel.
I let out a weak sigh.
I spent like an hour in that tub because when next I opened my eyes, the water was now so cold.
I groaned and got up, wiping myself up. I wore something comfortable and headed downstairs.
"Oh Alpha, I was just about to come let you know that, your food is ready", One of the minds said as she met me halfway on the stairs.
"Thank you," I said to her as I went into the dinner room. The aroma of the food prepared though was good, hopefully I would be able to eat well today.
They had grilled chicken breast, quinoa and a side salad.
I hummed and nodded, taking my seat. I took small portions of each, but ate a bit larger portion of the grilled chicken breast and drank my water.
Done!
I asked them to take the rest out.
I may have been too busy looking for Montana and not giving my kids much time. It just dawned on me and made me feel so bad and disappointed in myself.
Montana would have my head, too if she were here.
I got up and approached their room, after attending to my immediate needs. My footsteps were a bit lighter though, and I was happy to see them.
I gently and quietly turned the doorknob and pushed the door open, not wanting to startle them or disturb my sleeping babies. I was told by my mum that they were taking a nap.
I walked in softly, and shut the door quietly. I went on to observe them as they slept, their faces innocent and serene.
The way their bed was set, I could put a seat in the middle and be able to reach both of them from each side and that seat was where I found myself in.
My heart swelled with love and concern for their well-being. They must be so worried.
I gently leaned down to each of them, shaking them softly awake. I whispered their names softly to rouse them from their slumber.
As they stirred awake, I could not help but smile while watching their cute faces.
"Daddy!!!", Zendaya was the first to scream as Zane followed her and soon I was being tackled by both of them in a hug I very much needed and appreciated.
"I am so sorry I have not been spending much time with you guys," I told them, hugging them tightly as I had each of them seated comfortably on each of my laps.
"That's okay Daddy", Zendaya kissed my cheeks. I ruffled her hair and smiled, relieved.
"We know you have been looking for mummy, although you look tired, your eyes," Zane said, and I could hear the sadness that lingered in his tone.
I pulled them in for another hug, not wanting any of them to be sad, "Don't worry, I will find her and bring her back to us. We will be one big, happy family again, so I need you guys to stay strong for her and for me. That is what she would want."
They snuggled into me and nodded as I rubbed their backs, not being able to stop myself from thinking.
"Why don't we do something fun, mm? Anything, you guys choose?", I asked them.
At least get their minds away from all this, "We will do what we all want, no arguing."
"Deal", They both agreed with a huge smile on their faces.
Hang on Montana! Just a little.
MONTANA'S POV
My eyes, which were once dull and resigned, now burned with intense pain and anger. I knew the mother who she was talking about, the woman who saved me and took me as her own.
My eyes glistened with unshed tears as Grace revealed everything to me, obviously wanting me to suffer.
She taunted me more, enjoying herself as she delivered more cruel taunts, "She was so easy to kill and so easy to take over her place even as she acted like a smart ass."
She said so many insults and unknowingly to her, my eyes narrowed into ice daggers. Despite the chains that bound me, my gaze remained defiant, refusing to yield to her verbal assaults.
Behind the pain in my eyes, there also lies rage.
In a sudden motion that was also fierce, I channeled my rage into action, caught Grace off guard as I swung my head forward, using the weight of my chains as a weapon.
As the metal echoed, my forehead connected with Grace's nose, in a sickening and satisfying thud.
