Chapter 12

CHAPTER 12

MONTANA'S POV

Being helpless there, in front of so many people, not being able to do anything to protect my kids who were held tightly, no one caring about them. Memories flashed back, reminding me how weak I was and how foolish I thought I could pull this up, especially bringing these kids here with me.

I really should have left them with Victoria. I hated the fact that they had to experience this kind of treatment with me.

Although my prayer to the Moon Goddess before I went into that house to get what I wanted was activated as my savior came.

I did not expect him to be the same Alpha Lincoln but I did not care, I just wanted someone to take us out of there and that was what he did.

I was so relieved but here I am now, sitting as he asked us to get married. My mouth where agape but I managed to shut it and gulp softly, "He wants us to get married?", I said to myself, forgetting that he could hear me.

"Yes I do, so what do you say to that?", he inquired.

"Why would you want to get married to me?", I had to ask cause I did not see why.

He sighed and kissed his teeth, "For starters, I do not know why I am doing this either but I already claimed you guys as mine and I have to live up to that. So we will be married for five months. A contract will be signed for sure", he explained as he brought out a paper.

"I already had my people make the contract before we reached", he passed it to me with a pen, "you are free to read it before signing."

"What happens after five months?", I asked him, cause won't that make it worse when we divorce or stop whatever this is?

"What happens is that we both go our separate ways. This is just to put on a show for them and also keep you and your children safe. The children of Vincintore, who would dare hurt them?", he chuckled and downed a glass of his drink.

"I already started this and so I would help end it. Read the papers, you have ten minutes to decide", he sat down as I read what the contract held.

The contract explained that this marriage was only for five months. We will sleep in different rooms and will act lovey-dovey when the needs arise but besides that, we will stay away from each other and continue our daily ways.

No feelings or strings attached, cause it is not a marriage out of love but one for a short term with good intentions.

I agreed with the good intentions part but I still felt bad about the marriage not out of love. It would have been good if there was someone who would want or love me but I guess I was unlovable, I chuckled sadly.

"Is there a problem?", I heard him ask but raised my head to look at him and shook my head.

"Then why does it look like you are about to cry?."

"What?", I asked surprised before I realized myself. A tear had dropped on the paper, "Oh I'm sorry, it is nothing Alpha", I dried my eyes quickly and gave a fake small smile.

After reading everything it seemed good enough. I could do this for my kids, I don't know but with everything I think this was best, it's just five months and we will all go back to our normal lives, "Yes".

I picked up the pen and signed at the spot where my name was, "Let's get married."

The next weeks/months were all about preparations for our wedding. News had spread out that we were getting married and once again I found myself in a room, being dulled up for marriage.

Victoria and the kids were even more excited than I and Lincoln who were getting married and Lincoln had seemed to be getting close and used to my kids even more than he was with me.

Victoria and the kids acted like it was a real marriage, well I think they believed and hoped it would be but I knew it was not and so I just maintained my boundaries.

"Are you ready?", Victoria who was with me asked, waiting for me to step out, so she could see how I looked.

"I am", I smiled, maybe I could let myself be happy even if it was just for some time, "coming out now", I announced to her.

I stepped out from behind the curtain, rubbing my hand on my dress and smiling widely as I looked up at her. She has not said anything yet but her face looked awestruck. That should be a good thing, right?

"Wow, Montana you my dear are going to blow minds and maybe might even blow my brother's mind away", she complimented.

"Shut up", I chuckled, "Thanks Vicky".

She came and hugged me, "You okay? You ready? Cause I know they will be here", Victoria confirmed as she hugged me and I hugged her back.

"Well let's see but I'm okay", despite the fact it reminded me of the last wedding I had and how it turned out, I took a deep breath. This is different.

Alpha Lincoln's dad was the one walking me down the aisle and surprisingly his parents adored me. I think his parents and sister knew about the contract but still treated me as more.

Sometimes I get too scared of this feeling, this feeling where people show you that they care or love you cause it was not something I was used to and so I get scared of it sometimes. But it's okay Montana, you got this.

"Alright everyone is waiting", Lincoln's parents came in and they showered me with compliments that I could not help but blush.

"Thank you, I am grateful", I said softly.

"It is okay darling", Lincoln's mother assured me as his father then brought his arm out for me and I held it. I took a deep breath and let out a small smile,

"This is it".
