CHAPTER 125
AUTHOR'S POV
Five years.
Five years since the beginning. Since the start of a new era.
The world had changed, and so had they.
They were once known as the Moon Stone Pack, but now they went by the Kingdom of Lunaria, located in Scotland, Scottish Highlands.
The Kingdom of Lunaria stood as the paramount authority among werewolves, wielding power and influence over their kind.
Ruled by Lord Lincoln and Lady Montana, the kingdom governs all aspects of werewolf society, from matters of law and justice, territorial disputes and many more.
Its dominion extends far and wide, werewolves from distant lands all around the world.
The main castle of the Kingdom of Lunaria, served as the residence and seat of power for the ruling family. It was situated at the heart of the kingdom.
The quarters were spacious and lavishly appointed, adorned with fine furnishings, it was not designed with too much wealth, but it was, how to explain, it was simple, yet one could see and feel the wealth and prestige.
The royal courtiers and attendants also stayed in the castle as it should be, some guests too when needed.
Some High-ranking officials and Military Commanders for safety reasons. There was a building though for them, well furnished and made.
Everything a castle required, its throne room, administrative hub and many more were all built to the satisfaction of the rulers and its people.
It was precisely how they had envisioned it to be. Not only the castle, but the kingdom as a whole.
Beautiful buildings for the people of the Kingdom of Lunaria, everything intact just as it has always been but just bigger and different. Stone cottages with thatched roofs, farms, and good soil.
The security measures of the Kingdom of Lunaria were top-notch, the measures were formidable as they are discreet.
The Kingdom was surrounded by fortified walls, watchtowers dotted the perimeter, manned by vigilant sentinels who kept a constant watch over the kingdom's borders.
There were also patrols of skilled warriors who would roam the surrounding area, ensuring the safety and security of Lunaria and its people.
The most important security measures of the kingdom of Lunaria was the magical barrier.
Montana's aunt, Calista, had her coven of witches now who she ruled. She and her coven of witches were the ones who put up the powerful barrier for the Kingdom of Lunaria.
This barrier shrouds the kingdom from the prying eyes of humans and keeps it hidden. The barrier will be able to detect when humans are close to it or trying to break through.
Anything at all that is an unwanted guest or not expected will be detected, and so they will be notified of the breach or closeness of whatever it is. They also had a way to detect exactly what it was, so they could be prepared.
Things planted around for detection. The security of the kingdom was just so strong and suitable.
The throne room exuded an aura of regal splendor, torches flickered in sconces, polished marble floor.
Lord Lincoln and Lady Montana were seated on their twin thrones of carved mahogany and velvet cushions when the massive oak doors swung open, revealing one of their best and top warriors.
The warrior walked in with purposeful strides, clad in armor and carrying a sword at his side. He approached the throne with a respectful bow.
"My Lord, My Lady", the warrior addressed Lincoln and Montana and then waited for permission to speak further, his gaze unwavering and steady.
"Welcome", Lord Lincoln said, "Please, state your business, what is new?"
The warrior delivered the information he had come to share, providing thorough details of the situation that required the attention of his King and Queen.
He spoke with authority and clarity, relaying the facts concisely and without any confusion.
Lord Lincoln and Lady Montana listened attentively to the words of their warrior, their Express shifting as they took note of the information, absorbing everything the warrior had said and showed them.
They exchanged glances and shared communications through their mate's link and after hearing the warrior's report, they conferred quietly through their mate link, discussing their course of action.
They also asked questions and sought clarification from the warrior, "So that is it then?", Lord Lincoln asked the warrior, who nodded, "Yes, my Lord."
Soon the decision was made and they both addressed the warrior, Lady Montana saying, "Thank you for your time and diligence, good job."
"Thank you, my lady."
"Dismissed", Lord Lincoln gave the order as the warrior took his leave of the throne room.
On the other hand, there was a man who wandered close around the Scottish Highlands, even went in, but he was not as deep as to where the Kingdom of Lunaria resided.
As he assessed the area and went in, eyes sharp and taking in his surroundings, he immediately spotted an animal, just standing there and watching him.
It was a wolf.
"A wolf in the Scottish Highlands?", the man asked himself, "That's a bit unusual."
Still, he remained calm, watching the creature. Maybe he could finally have a chance to study one. Can even make it, his pet. He had a thing for wanting to know more about the world, creatures and many more things, he was a curious one when it came to things about nature and so many more.
Just as he watched the creature, it seemed like the creature was also watching him, trying to figure out his next move.
"I can't let it escape", the man said to himself, getting his gear ready. He was skilled, and before the wolf could sense anything dangerous coming at it, the man skillfully pulled out his small tranquilizer gun from his boot, aimed at the wolf and shot it.
It took four more tranquilizers to be shot before it had an effect on the wolf.
Proudly, the man blew a gentle breeze across the barrel of his gun and put it away. He went over to where the wolf laid and after confirming the tranquilizer took it out fully, he tied it and took it back home to him.
The man kept the wolf in a room, left to go change into something more comfortable, and when he returned, he was startled to find the wolf in a weird way.
His breath caught in his throat as he watched in stunned silence, unable to make understanding with the impossibility that was unfolding before him.
The wolf's features were slightly changing, "Where those hands? Legs?", The man said to himself, it was as if the wolf was not taking on a more human form.
"How could this be happening?"
Confusion and shock gripped the man as he whispered in disbelief, "Is this some kind of trick?"
