CHAPTER 18
MONTANA'S POV
I focused on breakfast, rather than the thoughts and aches in my heart, I focused on breakfast, a moment of peace and food would be nice for me right now.
I am not sure if I can stay mad at him for long cause I feel like if he does any nice now I might succumb. Yup, that's how badly I'm into him, but till then, mad I shall be.
Now back to breakfast, there were so many to choose from. I am still trying to get to the food here. I am sure I was not able to provide this much when it was just me and my kids.
There was Eggs Benedict with smoked salmon, homemade fruit juice, Pastries that were freshly baked, and Avocado toast with poached eggs. As my eyes went around and I listed all these names in my head, my mouth began to water.
They all looked so delicious. I helped myself to the Eggs Benedict with smoked salmon, absolutely divine. I made a little sound and apologized when it got everyone's attention while hiding a small giggle.
"Mummy, Aunt Victoria is taking us shopping today, please can we go?", My kids interrupted my sweet breakfast where I had reached the level of closing my eyes and savoring the taste.
"Of course, you can", I smiled at them.
"You can come too if you want, I think there are some things you would want to get", Victoria offered.
I nodded, "Sure", and then went back to eating.
Throughout my whole breakfast, I could feel his eyes on me but decided not to look his way. Why won't he just look down at his plate or somewhere else and eat?
Is he trying to break me more than he broke me yesterday?
It was getting annoying cause I did not need him to give me any attention at that moment.
Soon, Alpha Lincoln's parents were done and left the table, going on with whatever they had planned, why Victoria and the kids had gone up to get ready for shopping.
They are going shopping now? But why?
Anyway, it was now I and Alpha Lincoln seated at the table. I was not done eating so nothing concerned me, although was almost done.
Just finished my pastries and was now having my fruit juice. Once finished, I decided to help and clear the table, little flashbacks came in. Do not get too comfortable, I told myself, it was not my fault I was like this but most times, I just could not help it.
"What are you doing?", I heard Alpha Lincoln ask me as I began stacking the plates to take them out. I pretended not to hear him and kept doing what I was doing.
"Montana", he called out my name as I turned and stared at him.
"Yes, Alpha?",
"I asked you a question", he raised a brow, looking annoyed.
"I apologize Alpha, I did not hear you", I lied.
"I see...hmm, this is the last time I will repeat myself then, so your eyes better be ready", he said to me while he put down his coffee cup, "I asked you, what are you doing?."
"Clearing the table Alpha."
"Why? We have people to do that, so leave it", he ordered and went back to finishing his meal.
Still, I ignored what he said and went back to clearing the tables. I knew his eyes were on me but when I started taking the plates to the kitchen, the whole staff rushed and took them from me.
"Oh no Luna, please don't, we might get in big trouble and this is our job, not yours", the head staff said to me as she ordered the others to go clear out the table.
"No it's okay, I insist. I do not mind", I said to her, feeling like this was something I had to do. This family had around done a lot for me and I should not be lazy, I was already a burden, and I did not want to add more to their plate.
"Even though Luna, we will handle it, thank you, Luna", the head staff said as she smiled and I smiled back.
"Okay then."
I turned and left the kitchen, passing the dining to go to my room and get changed for the shopping, "Stop right there!", the command came and it did not sound like a friendly one at all.
I stopped immediately.
I heard footsteps behind me and took a deep breath, embracing myself, "Turn around", Alpha Lincoln ordered and I did just what he asked.
"I do not understand what it is with you and not following rules or obeying what I ask of you Montana", he started with this, "Do you think because of this, you being the Luna for some time, do you think because of that, you are above my rules?."
"Alpha I-",
"Answer my question, Montana, I am in no mood for your stupid excuses. I tell you something and you do it. That's it, you do not question me, I give an order and you follow through with it. Is that so hard for your brain to carry and understand?", I could feel the frustration and anger from his tone.
My head was now downcasted as I stared at my feet, "Look at me", he said but I refused to.
"I said look at me!", he pulled my face forcefully up and I staggered a bit and faced him but did not look into his eyes.
"I-I'm s-sorry A-alpha", at this point, I thought I would get hit so I just started apologizing cause I was not sure about how it would go. My kids loved it here, they always told me how wonderful and kind he was with them, how he played with them but I did not understand why he could not just treat me that way.
Even though just being friends with me, that would be nice but no, he chose to despise everything about me. I did not mean to drag him into my life and I am also thankful that he is in my life but why treat me like this?
"Keep your sorry", he spat in my face, "You want to work right? You want to be treated that way right?", he asked while I just stood there and gulped.
He kissed his teeth, grabbed my arms tightly, and pulled me with him, "Come with me then!."
