Chapter Flora Was Dead?

Maxwell's expression froze, and his anger erupted instantly from within him. He shouted, "What did you say? Say it again if you dare!" Flora was dead? Who dared to say that she was dead? Who dared to let her die?

Everyone knew that his shout, his anger, was just an attempt to avoid and mask the truth. What's the use of refusing to admit it? Flora wouldn't come back to life because of this, she wouldn't return to his side because of this!

"Big Young Master, this is the truth. Miss Flora was killed by Chiyoko Tokugawa!" Darren reiterated this painful fact, restraining the danger of being beaten up by Maxwell. When he received this news, he was also shocked and immediately came to personally inform Maxwell instead of telling him over the phone. He was afraid that Maxwell might do something irrational and harmful!

"It's impossible! Chiyoko doesn't have the guts!" Maxwell shook his head and spoke coldly. His body was already trembling so much that he couldn't stand steadily, leaning against the car to support himself and not collapse to the ground.

Everyone in the Smith Family looked at Maxwell in shock, and Joshua's face turned pale with fear, leaning against the wall. One moment, he held his breath watching Maxwell's reaction, and the next he gasped for air.

Joshua didn't expect this news to spread so quickly. According to Maxwell's shrewdness, he would find out that it was him who took Flora away. Fortunately, Maxwell was currently in a state of madness, with only half of his usual intelligence.

"That's the truth, Big Young Master," Darren said, just as the sound of a car came from the entrance. Everyone's gaze fell on the slowly approaching car.

The car stopped in front of Maxwell, and the person who appeared within everyone's sight was Kevin, looking just as he usually did. The people in the Smith Family mansion mistook him for Oliver at first glance, except for Mrs. Smith, who knew he was Kevin.

In the past, if Mrs. Smith saw Kevin return to the Smith Family, she would have been overjoyed to the point of fainting. But because of what had happened today, her heart was already replaced by sorrow, and she spoke with bitterness, "Oliver, you're back."

Kevin ignored Mrs. Smith, stepping out of the car and landing a strong punch on Maxwell's face, despairingly yelling, "Maxwell! Are you worthy of Flora? Do you think you still have the face to live in this world?!"

Maxwell was already unstable, and with Kevin's punch, he immediately took two steps back and fell to the ground. Blood seeped from his mouth, but he couldn't feel any pain. Kevin's appearance was undoubtedly a heavy blow to him.

"Maxwell..." Mrs. Smith rushed over, bent down, and helped Maxwell up from the ground. She pleaded with Kevin, "Oliver, you can't blame Maxwell. Flora's death has nothing to do with him."

"Ask him if it has anything to do with him!" Kevin was so angry that he wanted to punch Maxwell again, but Richard and Darren held him back. Unable to physically attack, he had no choice but to continue yelling, "I warned you before, if you took Flora away, you should take good care of her. How could you let her die? How could you?!"

Maxwell stood still, listening to Kevin's scolding as his heart was torn apart. If he had known something like this would happen, he wouldn't have repeatedly taken Flora away from Kevin. But does regret serve any purpose now?

"Do you know how Flora died?" Kevin glared at Maxwell through gritted teeth, then he shook off Richard and Darren's hands, turned around, and grabbed the videotape that recorded Flora's brutal murder from the passenger seat. He threw it onto Maxwell's body.

"I want you to see with your own eyes how Flora was killed and who she died for, Maxwell! If you can't regret it for the rest of your life, then you should never consider yourself human again!"

This videotape was the one Philip had sent, thinking that the person he saw at the bar that day was Maxwell and that the bar belonged to the Smith Family Group!

The videotape fell to the ground with a sound, and Maxwell reached out, hesitating for two seconds before daring to grasp the lightweight videotape. Trembling, he flipped it up and down, but there was nothing on the box's surface, and it was impossible to tell what secrets were hidden inside.

"Oliver, what is this?" Mrs. Smith looked at the videotape in Maxwell's hand and raised her head to Kevin, asking suspiciously.

"You'll know when you watch it. Absolutely thrilling." Kevin smiled bitterly, tears welling up in his bloodshot eyes. A real man sheds tears without shame, especially someone like him, a tough and resilient man.

This made Maxwell even more frightened. He tightly held the corner of the videotape as if he wanted to crush it with his bare hands. Hesitating for a long time, he couldn't resist it and walked to the living room with unsteady steps.

Inserting the videotape into the machine revealed a high-definition image in front of everyone. Joshua, who was originally sweating profusely, felt a little relieved seeing that the videotape had been edited, but he remained tense.

He couldn't believe Chiyoko's words anymore, so he couldn't trust that she would cover for him. Upon careful thought, he and Chiyoko didn't have any conflicts, so she shouldn't drag him into trouble!

The brutal and bloody scene shocked Mrs. Smith, who screamed. Everyone present gasped, stunned. Maxwell's mind was instantly emptied as he stared blankly at the continuously jumping images.

From Flora taking the poison to the forced abortion, this series of horrifying scenes was enough to make his blood boil. His eyes turned bloodshot, and his clenched fists turned white. Hatred, at this moment, grew deeper.

Beyond hatred was bone-deep heartache. Would people become foolish and ignorant in such a critical moment? Flora actually believed Chiyoko's words, thinking he was in trouble, and drank the poison to save him!

Closing his eyes, a warm tear overflowed from his narrow eyes. He couldn't remember when he last shed tears. Besides the time when both his parents died nearly twenty years ago, this was the second time!

"Big Young Master, don't watch anymore!" Darren snapped out of his astonishment, rushed forward, and unplugged the videotape. He anxiously supported the swaying Maxwell, and he seemed to foresee what Maxwell would do next!

"Get lost!" Maxwell shouted, forcefully shaking off his hand, and like a whirlwind, he rushed upstairs, returned to the bedroom, opened the rarely opened drawer, and a shiny handgun ended up in his hands.

Casually stuffed into his pocket, he whirled out like a storm again. Whoever dared to harm his wife and child, he would make them pay a painful price! Chiyoko Tokugawa! She must die!

"Big Brother, where are you going?" Richard caught up, holding his arm anxiously. However, Maxwell, with his powerful physique, easily shook him off, throwing him against the wall.

He was like an angered lion, biting at anyone he saw. He smoothly rushed out of the house, and drove out of the Smith Family mansion like a gust of wind, successfully leaving behind the anxious people far away.

Mrs. Smith was so anxious that tears flowed from her eyes. She hurriedly ran up, grabbed Kevin's arm, and shouted, "Oliver, quickly! Go and bring your brother back! It's dangerous for him to run out like this, hurry!"

"If he gets into trouble, it's his own fault!" Kevin bitterly swallowed his bitterness and walked to his car at the same speed.

Darren also left, worried that Maxwell would do something reckless!

The Smith Family mansion instantly returned to dead silence. The sky had already turned a pale white. Mrs. Smith sighed in the direction they had left. Helplessly wiping away the tears on her cheeks, she murmured, "What sin did the Smith Family commit in a past life? Always one mishap after another, can't we have a few peaceful days?"

Speeding all the way to Chiyoko's residence, Maxwell abandoned the car and rushed inside. The security personnel at the gate didn't have time to stop him and were left behind.

Maxwell stormed into the main house, not seeing her on the first floor, and proceeded straight to the second floor. In the living room on the second floor, he immediately spotted Chiyoko and witnessed the changing images on the large LCD screen—images of the brutal murder of Flora!

As for Chiyoko... at this moment, she was joyfully dancing and singing, seemingly oblivious to everything.

Philip, who had been standing aside, saw Maxwell and immediately turned pale. Trembling, he quickly hid behind the sofa, terrified by Maxwell's furious expression, cowering on the floor.

Chiyoko, unexpectedly encountering Maxwell, happily rushed over and grabbed Maxwell's hand, giggling, "Maxwell... you came, you finally came to see me... I'll dance for you, okay?"

Maxwell observed this seemingly crazy woman in front of him, and the flames of resentment burned fiercely. Chiyoko had gone mad? Even if she had, he wouldn't let her off easy!

His right hand touched her neck, gently caressing, then a subtle force gathered at the fingertips, sinking into her flesh.

Chiyoko, however, felt no pain at all. She continued to laugh heartily, pointing at the large LCD monitor, "Look, Flora is dead, she's finally dead, died with the baby...haha."

Only when her throat tightened so much that she couldn't speak anymore did her face turn ashamed and purple. Still, she continued to laugh. Laughing so happily, so freely, her finger pointing at the big screen, the source of her joy.

Philip, hiding behind the sofa, was even more frightened by the scene before him. He was afraid the next one to die under Maxwell's hand might be himself. Since the president of the Yota Gang had called back his people to Japan, he had lost all his swagger, surviving only by relying on Chiyoko.

"Big Young Master! Are you really going to kill her yourself?" Darren, who arrived later, hurriedly rushed up, rescuing the terrified Chiyoko from Maxwell's grasp. He looked at Maxwell and asked loudly.

Chiyoko, gaining freedom, ran towards the terrace in terror, desperately gesturing to Maxwell, shaking her head and waving her hands, "Maxwell, don't kill me, kill her, kill her!" She pointed at the TV screen.

Maxwell's gaze followed her pointing finger to the TV screen, where he saw the moment the doctor announced Flora's death. A sharp pain struck his heart, and the gleaming black handgun suddenly appeared in his hands. The dark barrel aimed directly at Chiyoko's forehead—

"Maxwell..." With Chiyoko's pleading and melancholic call, a 'bang' echoed, as if from another century, haunting and profound. The bullet pierced through the air and directly into Chiyoko's forehead.

Kevin and Darren's eyebrows twitched, shocked by Maxwell's brutality. He actually fired the gun!?

A piercing scream erupted from Chiyoko's mouth, freezing all emotions on her face. Her eyes widened like copper bells, staring intensely at Maxwell, as if wanting to etch him into her memory.

Crimson blood spilled from her forehead, flowing onto her snowy white gown, a horrifying sight! Then, her body gently toppled toward the outskirts of the terrace, like a pear blossom abandoned by its branch, helplessly drifting through the air and landing in the garden on the first floor!

A life as delicate as a flower tragically faded away, disappearing from this world!

"Big Young Master, let's go quickly." Darren, seeing that a life had been taken, anxiously pulled Maxwell toward the exit. After all, this was Chiyoko's territory, and no one knew how many people were guarding this mansion.

Maxwell shook off his hand, dissatisfied with the current situation. He walked towards the terrace, aimed the gun at Chiyoko lying in a pool of blood on the first floor, and fired several shots. His agony, however, couldn't be alleviated!

Compared to Flora, Chiyoko's death was a minor issue. Even if she died a thousand times, what difference would it make? Nothing could be restored! Maxwell suddenly regretted ending her with a single shot; he should have treated her the way she mistreated Flora!

Like a madman, Maxwell turned around, and bullets hit the TV screen one by one. He didn't want to see that scene again, why force him to witness it once more? His Flora...

His arm dropped in mid-air, and Maxwell suddenly squatted on the ground, holding his head in pain, emitting a low, mournful growl. It was as if he had been cut deeply, blood surging, and the pain pierced his heart.

He had never known that losing Flora would make him feel so unbearable, so heart-wrenchingly painful!

Seeing him in such agony, Kevin couldn't bring himself to utter accusations. Silently, he turned and walked away. Passing by the first floor, he glanced at Chiyoko lying in a pool of blood, sighed lightly, and drove away.

Maxwell was practically dragged back to the Smith Family by Darren. He remained in a stunned and desolate state, as if his heart had been forcefully ripped out, leaving only an empty shell to be manipulated by Darren.
