CHAPTER 12 - RICHARD
"What is this?" Ray asks, reaching to grab something from the bed.
I turn slightly to see him picking up the collar and looking closely at it.
"Give me that," I snatch it from him with a scowl on my face. I don't care what fucking buddies we may be in this world.
In the other world, he is a sellout who tagged with my enemies and dethroned me, handing over my throne to my illegitimate, half-brother. It'll be hard to erase all the hurtful memories he'd created in my head.
"What is that?" He asks, with a curious look on his face.
"None of your damn business," I grunt.
"Take it easy, man. I'm just asking because I've never seen you with ancient stuff," He chuckles, trying to ease the tension.
"Yeah. I just found this and picked interest in it." I stood from the bed, away from his interrogation. "What you doing here?"
"What do you mean?" He creases his brows again. And I realize I just may have asked another crazy question.
"Just kidding." I chuckle, running my fingers lightly through my hair. Just what do I say now that won't sound too crazy?
Just then, a knock comes on the door.
"Come in," Ray tells whoever it is. The door slowly creaks open and an Omega walks in. I know what she is just by her appearance.
She bows to me first and then to Ray. And then she keeps her head lowered and says, "breakfast is served, Master."
"About damn time," Ray gruff, standing and doing a little stretch of his limbs. "You coming?"
"Sure. Right after you." I nod my head with a half-assed smile.
He leaves the room, right after the Omega leaves. Finally, a little bit of privacy!
I pull the drawer of the nightstand and toss the collar inside it. Using a normal key to lock it isn't safe enough, so I decided to use my powers instead.
I move my fingers, muttering a couple of spells but nothing happens. What's going on?
I try it again, more intensely this time, but nope, nothing happens again. Shit!
I kick the nightstand in frustration, plumping on the bed. So I don't get to have my powers in this world too? What hellhole have I crawled into?
Flair and I need to have a serious talk, 'cause there's no way she gave me what I asked for. This world seems like torture, and without my powers, I'm nothing.
With a sigh, I drag my body through a door I presume to be the bathroom. And it is. A very spacious, glittering bathroom. Enough room for twenty people. A group shower fuck would be perfect for a space like this.
I turn on the shower and have a cold, quick bath. I walk back into my room naked. I don't even bother with a towel. Any female who barges in right now will just get her pussy fucked. And for real, I could use a little fuck to let out my building frustration.
I open the closet to get some clothes but I'm astonished at what I'm seeing. It's a stylish lineup of tuxedos, suits, and coats. Plain trousers. Tailored shirts. Nothing simple. No denim pants. No leather jackets. No shorts. No joggers. No hoodies. No henleys. Nothing casual.
What the fuck am I in this world? A priest or the moon goddess's most modest son?
My frustration hit the roof and I'm fucking stranded, standing there and looking at my boring closet. After a few minutes, I take out a long-sleeved shirt with tailored pants.
I put on the shirt, and unbutton a few buttons right to my hairy chest. I fold the sleeves too.
I don't bother with my hair and just head out of the room. The hallway is endless and beautiful. I'm not sure of my way around but luckily, one of the Omegas walks up to me.
"Lead the way to the dining room," I order her and she bows and starts walking.
I follow her but still spare a few seconds to look around my new home. Not gonna lie, I love it. It's majestic, something fitting for a man as ambitious as I am.
If there aren't a few inconveniences like Ray being here and my powers leaving me, I might just have given Flair some accolades for bringing me to a world like this.
I arrive at the dining and the Omega pulls out a seat for me at the edge of the table.
"Get lost," I tell her and she scurries away. I glance at Ray and he's looking at me through the brim of his coffee mug. "What is it?"
"Did you bump your head on something hard last night?" He asks, setting down the cup and intertwining his fingers. "You've been really weird this morning."
"How so?" I ask him, but my eyes are on the extravagant snacks laid out on the table.
"Well, for starters, you asked me a series of weird questions. And now, this…" he gestures at my outfit.
"What's wrong with it?"
"Dude, you never fold your sleeves. You're always dressed in tuxedos and suits. Your hair is always professionally groomed. You're never without a necktie. And you never unbutton your shirt."
"I wanted to try something new today," I reply, taking a sip of my coffee. I'll rather keep my replies short and simple. Long explanations will only make me sound ridiculous.
"Well, that's a first. And you just dismissed that Omega rudely. That's another first."
"How else am I supposed to talk to an Omega?" I snap.
"Calmly. You always believed everyone is equal, regardless of their status."
"I must have been out of my goddamned mind," I mutter, going through a newspaper that had been lying on the table.
My pictures are on the front page and it has a headline about my newest deal with a certain company. All these look foreign to me. What kind of deals are these? And what project was I supposed to be working on last night?
There's so much I need to know about my new world and my new identity and it's already messing with my head.
"Are you going to go see your Father today?" I hear Ray ask.
"Why? Is today his death anniversary?" I reply nonchalantly, still going through the newspaper.
"Really funny, dude. I didn't know you could make such dark jokes." Ray chuckles.
I'm confused about what he finds so amusing. 'Cause the last time I checked, my nightmare of a father is dead. I killed him with my own hands.
"I'm talking about the family gathering today. Will you be going?"
"What family?" My eyes dim in confusion. I'm suddenly interested in what he's saying.
"Your father and brothers. What other family do you have?"
"My father and brothers are alive?" This can't be. There's no way I'm staying in a world where I have to face my awful past. They are all supposed to be dead. Especially my nemesis of a father.
What the hell has Flair done to me?!
With no second thought, I stand from my chair and it topples over behind me. I run back to my room and shut the door.
I open the drawer and take out the collar. I shut my eyes and yell out the spell that had brought me to this world. It works.
In the next second, I'm twirling and a huge light envelops me, tossing me back into the Mage Cave.
Flair is sitting on the ground, casting whatever spells that have the place swarmed with worms.
She seems shocked to see me and she stops whatever she's doing and hurries to her feet.
"What are you doing back here?!" She demands sharply. "I must warn you, Richard. The border between two universes shouldn't be traveled so easily and frequently."
"Flair, we need to talk." I seethe, fisting my hands in rage.
