Chapter # 7

Ester, Please don't leave me, I beg you. I will die without you. Please don't. I don't want the life in which you are not present anymore. I just want YOU!

***

After spending the most mesmerizing time of my life there, something which is implanted deeply into my core as an eternal source of rapture. An everlasting sensation I died to receive and the solace of finally finding my home, a place can return to, no matter how lost I am. Finally finding a place where I belong, which saves me from all the abhorrence of this world.

After making some unforgettable memories, We returned home. Ester kept smiling and looking bashful as always and I loved looking at this demeanor of hers. How she flushed just by mere touches of mine and only I can make her feel this. All of these emotions she made me feel are explicitly bliss. .

I looked at her and leaned back on the counter watching her putting the cake batter in the oven we are cooking together. Under my piercing gaze, she tugged her hairs behind her ears and averted her gaze timidly.

"What?" She asked with a nervous laugh. I moved close to her and held a strand of her hairs between my fingers and stroke it,

"Just can't take my eyes from you." I said affectionately. She giggled and shook her head, still not used to my sudden compliments.

"You know Desmond..." She trailed off putting the tray in the oven and turning to me holding my shirt between her delicate fingers and smiling,

"I yearn to talk to you. I love it when you talk to me." She said looking at me with her alluring gaze. I chucked and brushed my nose against hers, "And I love staring at you... all the time."

"By the way, did you prepare the frosting?" she asked, pulling away. I pulled her back to me as my chest was pressed against her back. I snuggled to her neck, she lowered her gaze shyly and let out a soft voice which was so melodious to my ears.

"When I hold you. Don't go unless I let go of you, okay?" I said in a low but firm voice. She shivered and slowly lifted her gaze at me. I kissed her neck as she replied, "Meaning never leave your arms?" She asked vaguely.

"When I hold you..." I said with my grip getting tight around her. Her breath hitched as I could feel her quivers, "You are not allowed to move away from me."

"Uh.. Desmond the cake-"

"Shh.. "I hush moved to her ear. She was slightly convulsed, looking here and there tensed, biting her bottom lips, looking so tempting. I bit her earlobe, turning oblivious that she is not liking this and my words are startling her.

"You understand?" I asked in a dominant voice. She trembled violently, her loud heartbeat reached my ears, she was getting agitated by my actions but I don't know what took over me and I lost it. I couldn't control myself.

"Y-Yes." She stuttered. I hummed moving my lips to her shoulder,

"D-Desmond. P-Please get away." She said in a croaked voice, looking away, trying not to cry.

"Don't you like my touch?" I asked softly, looking at her. She closed her eyes and let out shallow breaths to calm herself.

I clicked my head against her and asked,

"What happened? Why are you being scared?" I laughed nervously. She shot her head to me with a hint of astonishment. With her heartbeat loud as clear to be heard by me and pants along with her frightened form. She exhaled deeply, looking at me taken aback. What happened to her?

"Why are you being that scared?" I asked again, raising an eyebrow.

"D-Desmond, I-I.. Can you get me some water?" She asked, agitated. I chuckled and pinched her cheeks, "You don't have to be afraid just to ask these simple things, what happened?"

"Nothing.. " She shook her head and pulled away quickly, she held the counter and looked down. I shrugged my shoulders and poured her a glass of water,

"Here you go." I said sweetly.

She hesitantly took it and drank it.

"I have made the frosting, the cake will be done soon." I told her, leaning on the counter in front of her. She hummed and put the glass back,

"Desmond.. Can I ask you something?" she asked vaguely.

"Of course you can." I smiled.

"How.. you change your moods?"

"I don't get it?" I raised an eyebrow. I get it, I was bipolar last time but this time I have full control over myself then why is she asking this? I intimidated her because I needed to make her hate me and later felt bad about it and apologized to her in her sleep. Back then I had to become this detestable.

"Like.. Um... How fast your mood changes?" She asked tentatively, twirling her fingers between her frock.

"In a matter of seconds." I said casually, shrugged my shoulders. She nibbled on her bottom lips and turns her head away,

"Did I do something Ester?"I asked, concerned.

"No! I was just asking." She put her hands in the air and said hurriedly.

"I was just wondering that if you get angry sometimes then can I calm your anger." She laughed off, lying. But she smiled so widely, making up a quick excuse for her words so I decided not to push her further and ask more about it.

I walked to her and held her hands and put it over my chest, making her feel my heartbeat. I looked at her with endless emotion of affection and love as I said gently,

"Look, Ester, I promise in this heartbeat of mine that even if I get angry, it will not be directed to you." She smiled sadly and nodded and I put her head over my chest.

I pulled her in my embrace, holding her close with no intention of letting her go and remained like that until we heard a click sound, telling us that our cake had been cooked.

She took out the cake and I applied frosting on it.

"I will do the decors!" Ester whined. "Okay, okay." I said brushing some of the frosting over her nose and moving to the side. She made some roses with the frosting on the border and put a cherry in the middle. She grinned and looked at me, showing me wanting to know how it looks, "It's pretty." I complimented her.

She chirped and we served it. She cut out a slice and served it to me and took one herself.

After eating we put the leftovers of that heavy cake in the refrigerator and went back to our room to take some rest.

We rested for some while and the time to get ready for the ball for tonight came. Ester whined about it, as usual and even refused to come.

"I don't want to, Desmond!" She complained, plopping on the bed, stretching her arms out.

"If you don't get ready in an hour, I will pick you up and drag you with me." I said firmly, combing my hair. Her eyes went wide as she looked at me to find any hint of amusement but to no avail because I am serious that if she didn't get ready, I am gonna come and pick her up and take her with me.

She pouted and sat up. She glared at me but failed to and I found it too cute and she left for the bathroom.

After a while, she came. In a sleeveless green A-line gown, letting her hair fall on her back and looking attractive like always. I smiled and kissed the back of her palm and we went.

We greeted and talked, and spent our time in taking, dancing.

Everything was going pleasant and calm, there was just a lull where there is no hatred or lies, just my Love for her as I found myself being held captive by her with no intentions of releasing myself, igniting those sparks of love and devotion in me which will light the future I lost hopes of receiving... Wanting to stay with her till my last breath. I smiled and kept looking at her talking to some ladies. I took a sip of my drink and looked at her. She laughed and talked to them and my eyes were fixed upon her, wanting to look nowhere other than her.

My eyes widened when the person from the group turned. A sudden horror took over me as I shivered violently to see her alive. Breathing, looking the same as ever. My lips quivered as I gulped, not being able to understand how in the hell she was alive. I lost my ability to think or feel, founding myself in a bottomless pit of darkness and despair.

Those same bi-coloured green and hazel eyes and smooth hazel hairs. That sly smile is still present across her lips. Grace..
