Chapter The mysterious boy

Making my way to the ground floor. I find no one there. I wonder where Emily went?

I looked around and it was an open-floor living room. The evening slowly ambered and the sun got cold yet fervent. There was emptiness without any sign of human activity. The room was filled with sun rays relaxing on the sofas, mashing and peeking through the glass window. Everything was depicting the

the absence of life yet illuminated by the warmth.

I've moved into the narrow hallway where went earlier. My eyes were fixed on a red door at the end of the hallway. I was so slowly moving towards it and thought, maybe it's aunt's office or library or something. If I can be lucky enough I can find a phone in there to call Caden.

Once, I reached closer to the door and outstretched my hand to open the door.

" If I was you, I shouldn't be opening that door." Someone said from behind me and I jerked back and spun around to see who says that.

I find a guy, standing at the end of the hallway. He was wearing a superman t-shirt and khaki shorts and topped it off with round-frame glasses.

" Who are you?" I asked him. He advanced toward me and don't know why he stopped me from going inside.

" It doesn't matter who am I? you should

be walking around carelessly. You don't know but danger lurking behind the closed door." He warned me but I don't know from what? He begins checking me out and begin circling me.

" Aisling Maverick, a 19-year omega from the Blue lunar pack. You have seen a lot of pain in your life and it was a never-ending pain for you... You have lost someone, someone so dear to your heart." He said.

My eyes widened and my mouth dropped open a little.

" How do you know that?"

He didn't say anything further but just a grin spread across his face and he told me, Emily is waiting for me in the backyard. He took off then, leaving me in utter confusion and I turned around to see the red door again but I didn't dare to open it.

I run out of there and I accidentally bumped into Emily who came out of nowhere.

" I am sorry, Aisling. I didn't see you coming. I was coming to get you. Are you alright?"

" Yeah, I am alright," I replied to her and dust my clothes off.

" Come on, we should be going before ma'am come back."

Before I could ask her, where are we going? She shoved her arm around me and nudge me to move.

She dragged me out of the house and into the backyard. As I step into the backyard, I am transported into another world. I have learned that the transition between nature and civilization is the difference between calmness and calamity. It reminds me of home. As I enter it, I am no longer in the highly planned world. It is as if I entered a world that is all my own, a world where I get the feeling of peace and tranquility. I stand in a yard full of luscious environments that puts my mind at ease.

Looking to the right, I would not know that another building lies so close. Trees of different heights rise to create an illusion of standing at the edge of a forest. There is a willow tree that stands out from the rest. The leaves have a shiny green upper surface with a duller green lower surface and extend to a pointed tip.

To the touch, they feel finely toothed, like the ruffles of a feather. At the moment, there is sun filtering in through the leaves to create glimmering patches of sunlight on the grass. The tree is as wide as it is tall. Not standing so tall, are the lemon and blood orange trees. These trees have come to life, with their citrus goodness and their simplicity. Next to the trees are a bed of flowers composed of calendulas. They are gently moving back and forth in a swaying motion. This flower is a beautiful work of art as evidenced in this close-up. The intricate design of each petal is beautifully painted together by nature's hand. The greens, yellows, and oranges, these colors perfectly blend with the winds to give me peace.

" Isn't beautiful," Emily said and I was so busy absorbing everything.

" You can admire my work later. We need to leave." she brought me back in the reality by snapping her fingers.

" But where? I need to talk to you." I told her.

" We can talk later because we are getting late."

She held my hand and lead the way to the backyard door which opens into a small alley.
