Helot Initiation Planet is my first real attempt at writing, and the entire reason I created was simply to get better at writing. One of my favorite quotes is "If you want to be good at something, you have to be bad at it first." and that was basically the reason Helot was born. I made a lot of mistakes with Helot, not just in the writing but the planning and story, and I don't think I can continue the story without fixing them. Helot is supposed to be a long story, covering the entire initiation, and potentially even past that to the return of New Earth, and maybe even further, but all of that is a little too ambitious right now, so instead of continuing to write chapters that are only good enough, I'm going to take some time off Helot to do a full edit and partial rewrite. Sorry if this news upsets you, but I think a lot of my ideas at the start were really good, and then I got kind of overwhelmed and just started writing an edgy OPMC murderhobo. I'm not entirely sure what will be changed, but it's most likely the second half or even the entirety of the Barad arc, as well as some of the ways the [System] functions.
If you encounter this story on Amazon, note that it's taken without permission from the author. Report it.
Anyway, Helot should return in a month or two once I flush it out.
In the meantime, I have a new story that I've been working on. It's in the same universe as Helot, but the premise is that the top 1000 non-divine beings in the universe are reset to level 1 and placed on an increasingly deadly planet, all working towards the goal of ascending to godhood. It follows a small cast of participants as well as a few of the gods who are creating the tournament, and the two gods commentating on it. It's called the Ascendancy Games, and the prologue and first two chapters will release today.
Please check it out if that sounds interesting to you!
