Chapter A kiss

Amoux's Point of view

I pressed my face where the heat had burnt from the smack she had given me as I watched her go away from me. I was stunned by what she did, that even if she dashed, I would outrun her.

However, I arrived late because she had already secured the door. I was well aware that I could smash down this door, but I refrained from doing so out of fear of frightening her. Each time I see her blue eyes, it's as if someone urges me to protect her...

Yet, I am aware that this doesn't seem right...

I knew she'd despise me when she learned about her parents. Plus, I have no idea what went through my parents' minds when they decided to take her as my personal doctor.

They will reawaken and oblivious secret.

"Leah! Open this damn door!" I resisted opening the door shut since I knew that it was locked and that she would refuse to allow me in. "When you open the door, I will not be furious."

"No!" She responded promptly, as if she suspected I was angry with her.

"You must open this." My voice became quieter to prevent becoming more fearful in her eyes.

Inside, there was silence until I saw her crouched in front of me, gently opening the door.

When I saw her face, my hands cupped to stave off myself from ruffling her hair, but I couldn't stop myself. I raised my hand and messed her hair.

"How about we leave?" I invited her, turned around and slowly stepped.

Her eyes widened but eventually followed me as I heard the door fully shut.

"Where?"

"Avoid asking too many questions!" I snatched her hand, and we entered the garden.

When we arrived, the food and cloth I had spread out earlier on the grass remained. I'm relieved that it did not go to waste. I do this to her because I do not want to strangle her within the palace. I'd rather not believe we're coercing her, even if it is true.

"Why are we here?" She questioned, and I demonstrated that I didn't like her stupidity.

Because of what I did, she kept her mouth closed.

When I sat down, I refused to let go of her hand and drew it from me so she could also sit. I gathered the food placed in front of me and gave it to her. The food is from bear meat. As soon as I realized this was the dish she liked, I adapted it for the cook to prepare.

"Here."

As I gave her the dish, I noticed the surprise in her eyes. I lay down and gazed at the stars. To where she and Damon had been staring at earlier. Every time I think Damon shows interest in Leah, something inside me enrages.

"H-How about you, P-prince?" She was unable to formulate an appropriate address to me.

"I finished eating while you were distracted by Damon and stargazing." I was hesitant to tell her since it was the truth, but I feel that there is bitterness in that tone.

"N-no. When I exited the room, I just saw him."

I didn't look at her, even though I could see her using my peripheral vision, staring at me with a troubled expression.

I remained silent in response to what she said. The longer I am with her, the more quickly I can discern her personality. She is readily convinced by what I tell her, and you can coerce her into doing what you want.

She is incapable of doubting. When the moment is perfect, she will be the focal point of deceit.

"It's repulsive to hear the word "prince" coming from you," I teased her coldly, even though this was not true. I suppose all of the phrases she speaks are pleasant to my ears.

I'm not sure how it makes me feel about her, but if she has an angry, joyful, or simple neutral expression on her face, I smile.

I'll confess that I first disliked her since she was an omega. We are not receiving an omega, so I understand why my father accepted her. I now see why my mum was so friendly to her.--- Because they are guarding a secret. However, regardless of how secretive anything is, the truth will eventually come out; even if the timing is not perfect for me to speak the truth, I know that all the enigmas will ultimately come out as well.

I saw that her countenance became sour due to what I stated. My lips curled into a grin, and to conceal it, I pointed to a cyclical star.

"Did you also know that the star Leo is one of the characteristics of a leader? Because it will encourage the pack's members to cooperate with him. A leader must be trustworthy because he will earn the respect of his pack mates. And last, his affinity for all wolves or lycanthropes." I'm not sure why I'm informing her of this. I am not required to tell her of this since she is idle, but it seems like something is pulling me to tell her it —to share everything with her.

"Then you are incapable of becoming a leader."

When she said that, she was no longer staring at me, and I rose from my lying position. Her lips were curled in a mischievous grin, and my brows pressed together.

"As the son of the Lycan king, I sought the throne without the knowledge of the other wolves or lycanthropes!"

I'm not certain if what she said stepped on my ego, but I don't want her to think that way about me.

"You are short tempered." She shrugged and resumed her eating. When I saw that her meal was still half-full, I yanked it away from her.

"What are you up to?!!" She attempted to grab for the food but was unable to do so since it was in my hand.

I couldn't hold back my laughing, and it spilled out. I even elevated the platter over her head. She grabbed me and yanked my arm away. Our faces were virtually touching, and I noticed her crimson lips.

As I gazed at her lips, it was as if someone was urging me.

And...

I just found my lips were already touching hers.
