Chapter There's a secret passage here

“Leah!” Amoux was panting when he woke up. He felt that his dream was absolute. Leah needed him, and he needed to help her.

“Amoux!” Almera shouted. Amoux looked at them, and he panicked, even more when Leah wasn't around. He stood up and grabbed his hair. “Where is Leah? She's not safe!” Amoux's lips trembled for his mate. He felt that his chest was clenched.

“I was going to go there, but the guards changed. They're all hunters.” Adam explained to him. He sighed; even though he tried to calm himself, he worried more for her cousin. “She thought that you were in the Nightwalker. What about the babies?” Adam was hoping that the babies were safe. He knew that Leah would be sad once the babies weren't okay.

“It's Damon. About the babies, uncle William took them from me–'' Amoux did not finish his words when he remembered his father. He died because of protecting her babies. He felt that something like a lump inside of his throat was trying to stop him from breathing. He thought that he was lost this time. “He's dead. I know that he died peacefully.”

Almera gasped when she heard Lycan Hector was dead. She couldn't believe that a powerful Lycan wasn't alive anymore. She felt sad because Lycan Hector was trying his best to get all of their forgiveness. “He couldn't fight with uncle William. And Uncle knew that. My father loves him as his brother.”

“Okay, then, what should we do next?” Adam asked.

Amoux sighed and tapped his chest. “Something is going on with Leah; my chest is burning. Damon had some potion in his hands, too.” Amoux coughed.

“Let's go to my pack. I don't care about the castle anymore. I want Leah and my children.” Amoux mumbled. He moved to Adam and tapped his forehead. “I will go to the Nightwalker. I know that there's a secret passage in our room; it's for an emergency passage. I will go there for now.”

“I will come with you. You don't need to do this alone.” Adam said. He looked at Jonathan and Kairo. “Jonathan, you should inform me about here. I will come with him.”

“Adam, I'll be going with you; what if something–”

“You don't need to. I trust you, so I appointed you to check this pack. I know that you're loyal to Leah.” Adam smirked, which made Jonathan scowl in irritation. He couldn't stop himself from glancing at Almera. She's beautiful. He felt that Kairo was lucky to have a fierce wife.

“Will you stop staring at my wife?” Kairo couldn't stop himself from talking to him. He felt even more jealous when Almera blushed because of Jonathan.

“I can't stop myself. My eyes have control over a beautiful woman.” Jonathan shrugged his shoulders. He overheard that Almera and Kairo were not okay with each other. How could this man choose others' opinions over his wife? He will teach him a lesson! “Almera, do you want to eat with me?” He jokes, which makes Almera flush even more.

“Seriously, Almera?” Kairo couldn't believe that he saw Almera react that way while he was too busy carrying their daughter. Did he lose her?

“It's up to you. Okay, let's eat together once everything finishes.” Almera giggled like a teenager. She pursed her lips and glimpsed at Kairo, who gave her a deathly glare.

Adam coughed. He felt disgusted that he was witnessing how his brother flirted with Almera. Almera and Jonathan stared at him, but there was an embarrassment on their faces.

“It's disgusting to witness seeing you, Jonathan flirting with Almera. Did you know that she had a mate?” Adam couldn't stop himself from asking. He knew that Jonathan was trying to play with them.

“Okay, Almera is too beautiful, and I can't stop admiring her beauty.” Jonathan playfully replied. He even winked at her, which made Almera flush and act like she was shy.

Kairo couldn't stop himself anymore. He growled and glared at his mate. He walked to Almera and gave her their daughter. “How could you flirt with another man? Seriously, Almera, you're doing this in front of me?” Kairo hissed. He let Almera take their daughter.

“Okay, here's the plan. We need to give them an alert that any time there would be an attack on our pack. Almera checked everything because the healers would be gone here for Leah. Jonathan, you should help Almera since you like her company.” Adam said, which made Kairo complain. He couldn't believe Adam had let his brother be with his wife.

“Kairo, I'm doing this because I know Jonathan is capable. Seriously, they are both goods once they're decided to team up.” Adam explained. He didn't even think about Kairo's violent reaction.

“Adam, let's go. I don't want something bad to happen to her.” Amoux mumbled. They both decided to leave.

Minutes passed when Karen went to the hospital. She had a meal in the basket. She frowned when she saw how Kairo grunted at Almera because Jonathan and Almera started talking about their plans. She smiled and raised her brow to Kairo. “Why don't you give them privacy to speak? Are you mad at Almera? You deserve it.” she sweetly uttered before giving her the food she had prepared.

Kairo was shocked when Karen was even mad at him, too. He felt that he genuinely did something terrible to Almera. Yeah, he forgot that Almera gave birth to their baby early because of him. How could he forget about that? It's his fault that Almera gave birth with anger.

“You hurt my feelings, Karen. Did you see them flirting with each other?” He felt sad all of a sudden. He watched Almera, and she was too busy swaying the baby while talking to Jonathan. His forehead creased when Jonathan moved his hand on the baby and caressed it.

“Almera!” Kairo shouted her name in anger. He was fuming mad that he had taken the baby away from Almera and given it to Karen.

Karen was surprised, but there was a tease on her lips. She wanted to jump for joy when Kairo grabbed Almera's hands and forced her to come with him. Almera started shouting, but she and Jonathan just laughed at them.

“This is why I don't like to fall in love with someone. It's cheesy!” Jonathan commented. He was dumbfounded when he saw Karen. “Wait, you look like–”

“I'm her daughter. You're Adam's twin, right?” Karen put the baby in the crib and gave Jonathan od.

“How did you know?”

“Aside from that, you look alike, and your grandmother told me everything when I saw her in the forest. She's the one who taught me how to create a potion.” Karen explained. She took a meal and decided to eat with Jonathan.

“Did you mean that our grandmother told you everything first? Adam didn't know about it; why didn't you tell him about it?”

“It's because it's not my story to tell. Adam had a cousin, and you're his twin, but your grandmother told me not to tell him. She wanted you to admit everything.” Jonathan's heart softened. He was slightly thankful that Leah gave him a chance even though he was still mad because of the loyalty potion. Whenever he remembers that there's a loyal potion inside his body, it makes him want to shout in anger.

“Leah is a kind and pure woman. You know when she found out that I'm Olivia's daughter. She didn't judge me; maybe that's why some rats were too obsessed with her.” Karen started a conversation. She smiled when Jonathan stopped munching his food.

“Don't you dare tell me that you read my mind?” Jonathan wanted to plead with her; what about his privacy? Karen laughed at him. “Now, I finally understand why you are mated to Adam. You both couldn't stop meddling in others' privacy.” Jonathan sarcastically remarked, which made Karen laugh at her.

“I can't help it. I saw how you changed your expression three times while thinking about something. Okay, you're mad that Leah gave you a loyalty potion, right? You don't need to. Maybe, it's just the only way she knew to help you. It would help if you thought about the other side of the story. Like me, Leah knew that I was her enemy's daughter. But she thinks about the other part of the story; she accepted me wholeheartedly because she trusted me.”

“Do you mean that she didn't trust me?” Jonathan couldn't stop himself from asking Karen.

“She trusted you. If she didn't trust you, what if she gave you a loyalty potion? And gave you the benefit of the doubt? I found out that you're the one who assisted her with the blood test; if she didn't trust you, why didn't she choose you?”

“Because she knew the loyalty potion would work on me,” Jonathan answered. He felt hurt by his answer.

“There's no loyalty potion, okay? I don't even do that perfectly, so I think you know the answer to why you choose to help her. Leah told you that it was a loyalty potion because she wanted to test you; she gambled everything to have you back and to make you see that blood is thicker than water.” Karen smirked when Jonathan was stunned.

“I'm sure that she gave me a loyalty potion.” Jonathan insisted.

“I gave all of the potions to Leah. And there's no loyalty potion there. If I create that potion, I know that Leah wouldn't use it since she believes she can't force anyone to be with her. She loves Amoux, and though she knew how to create a love potion, she didn't do that because she didn't want to push someone to love her. They wanted them to know her worth.” Karen was done eating her food and went to the baby when it was crying.

“That's what Leah did to you. Even though she knew how loyal you were to Olivia, she trusted you with the blood test, and you didn't do anything wrong to her. It's because you finally forgive them, deep inside your heart.” Jonathan sighed. He wanted to deny everything, but what's the use of denying everything?

Maybe he felt that he was an outcast, and seeing them happy made him get jealous. How could they be happy without even knowing that he exists?

But, now that he knew the truth, he finally forgave them. He hoped he would tell his parents because the last time they saw each other was before they got murdered. Jonathan felt guilty because he teamed up with his parent's murderer.

He didn't even know that it was Olivia who killed them. If he learned from the very start, he would poison her to death or maybe torture her. “Karen, I want to ask, would you be mad if Leah killed your mother?”

“I always asked myself about that. I wanted to tell you the truth; it's too easy for me to say that it's OK because it's not Leah's fault that she didn't have a choice but to kill her. I accept that, but I will be hurt because she's still my mother.” Karen responded, which made Jonathan think that Leah was right. She chose the blood test and let the council verdict Olivia for her sins.

“Adam told me that Leah chose to take the blood test because of me. She didn't want me to get mad at her, and she knew I would be hurt. How could you find a leader like that?” Karen hymned a lullaby to the baby when it started crying.

“Where are we going?” Adam couldn't stop himself from asking Amoux. They stopped at the cave and entered it.

“There's a secret passage here. Leah planned it because she thought that Anaya might be back. Do you remember that we renovated our pack?” Amoux walked, and his eyes glowed in dark red. “We will be directed to my room.” Amoux informed him.
