Chapter 27: The Idiot Gillian’s Day Out

In Hueco Mundo, there's only one rule for every Hollow:

Fight. Eat. Survive.

It's a brutal world where the strong devour the weak, and the only law is power.

Except for me.

I'm not normal. I follow my own sacred rule:

Sleep. Do something stupid. Somehow survive.

And so far? It works.

Today, while other Hollows were clawing each other apart, I woke up half-buried in the sand. Only my giant Gillian mask poked out of the pale dunes.

I stretched my huge arms with a low, rumbling groan.

"GRUOOOOOOHHHHH…"

(Translation: Ah… what a beautiful night… again.)

The ever-present eternal night stretched overhead like usual.

No sun, no stars. Just endless darkness.

Honestly, I don't know if it's been a day, a week, or a year since I got stuck like this.

But hey — time means nothing to a Hollow.

Today's idiot plan?

Challenge the sky again.

I raised one long arm dramatically toward the heavens.

"ROOOOAAAAAAHHH!!!"

(Translation: I, the Great Idiot Gillian, declare war upon the endless night sky!!)

Of course, the sky didn't answer.

[SYSTEM NOTICE: +250 EP for 'Pointless Declaration of War']

Perfect start.

Next, I decided to build a bone throne.

I gathered discarded Hollow mask fragments and stacked them up, plopping my massive Gillian butt on top.

The whole thing instantly collapsed.

"GUUUOOOHHH…"

(Translation: As expected.)

[SYSTEM NOTICE: +310 EP for 'Failing to Build Worthless Throne']

Not done yet, I dragged some cracked bones and set them upright, then began blowing into them like musical flutes.

No sound came out, except for eerie, horrible wind-like howls.

"GRUOOOOOOOOOHHH!!"

(Translation: Behold, my Hueco Mundo Symphony No. 1!!)

[SYSTEM NOTICE: +400 EP for 'Creating Useless Noise Pollution']

A few passing Hollows glanced my way. Some backed off.

Others just ignored me like I was some walking bad omen.

Good.

Better alone.

This is my life.

Other Hollows fight, devour, and claw their way up the food chain.

I sleep, I act like an idiot, and somehow… I keep surviving.

I don't know if it's the System's fault or my own weird luck.

But my EP meter now reads:

[CURRENT EP: 21,860 / 1,000,000]

One idiotic step at a time, closer to becoming the dumbest Adjuchas ever.

And I wouldn't have it any other way.
