Chapter With fire

*Abi POV*

I don’t how I shifted back to myself but I wish I hadn’t. Seeing through Nina’s blazing eyes is completely different from mine. Everything that was in the courtyard is now ashes. What was once the most cruel ruler and his friends also mixed there, not even a bone is visible.

My eyes turn to the two people I am now terrified to face. Their expressions are enough to tell me that they are now scared of me. Omario stands in the same corner he was in when Nina bit him. His hand is pressing the bite mark which should be bleeding considering the location, but I don’t see any blood there. I am really relieved that he is alive, I could have never been able to forgive myself if I killed him.

“Do you two have to be so dramatic? I mean you could mark each other like normal people do.”

I turn to look at Terrence in disbelief. “The bite is on his neck. I did not mark him.”

I am clueless about a lot of this but I know where mates mark each other.

“Who said that’s the only location one can mark their mate?” Terrence persist. I am now confused because he definitely knows this stuff more than me. He is just messing with me, right? I mean, Omario told me that my wolf hates him, why would it mark him then?

“You are making this up,” I sound confident because I know Terrence only too well. He has a tendency to test your resolve on something before coming out clean that he was making it up.

“The shoulder is safer, it has no major blood vessels, hence the preferred choice but it’s all just preference. You went for the most dangerous and visible but that’s your middle name,” He looks very serious when he says this. Could it really be that I marked him back?

I turn to look at Omario, who has not said a word but he won’t even look at me. I really don’t need this in my life.

“Our wolves did what they did, it does not mean that we have to be together,” I say and turn around to leave.

I am hoping that he will stop me before I reach the exit m, but he doesn’t. That hursts but it’s clear to me that he does not want this. That’s it, I am really done with him.

I meet my fellow servants outside and they are shocked by the change in me and absolutely thrilled about the deaths of our tormenters. At least they are not terrified of me, nor are they keeping their distance from me like Omario and Terrence did. Maybe it’s because they did not witness what I become when I shift, but I’m still grateful to be treated as a human being. They are in a way, my family. We all grew up here, got tortured and survived together.

I stop a lot of them from bowing before me. A lot of them still treat me like the heir but we don’t have packs anymore and I did not come here to overthrow Omario. I make this clear to them and it’s easy to accept because I and them have not doubt that he will be a good, kind and compassionate Alpha.

With everything settling down, I can see a lot of the guests returning to inspect the damage I caused. The kingdom elders and prophets are also arriving to probably announce Omario as the new Alpha. The bigger event will follow but the kingdom can not go a day without a leader. That’s my cue to leave. I avoid making contact with anyone and head towards my car, but not fast enough. From the parking lot I see Omario walking out and looking around. Then Olivia comes running into his arms and he gladly embraces her.

“Let him go to hell!” I say to myself. I am jealous but like hell am I going to let him incapacitate me while enjoying his life with someone else. I start the engine and slam the accelerator speeding out of the castle. Exceeding every speed limit on the road, it does not take long for me to get to my house. I look around at everything I now own. I should be proud of everything I have accomplished but there’s still the void accompanied by the dull pain of not being accepted by my mate.

Taking out my phone, I dial the one man I know will jump at every opportunity to help me get my sweet revenge.

Colton is a fellow model, a hot one at that, but also a player. He’s been pursuing me for over a month now. Even a fool knows that he is not the settling down kind of guy. That makes him perfect.

“You go girl!”

I turn around to look who said that. As far as I know, I’m the only person here.

“It’s me, silly. Your wolf.”

I swear I can feel her rolling her eyes at me.

“Oh! Nina!”

I’m so relieved. I was starting to think I’m losing my mind.

“So, what’s the plan? Kissing, fondling or we going all the way?”

Nina sounds too excited about this for my liking.

“Aren’t you supposed to stop me from cheating on our mate?” I ask.

My wolf is definitely not the typical all caring and loyal mate I always heard about.

“I would kill for Titan but his human is an idiot. We need to teach him a lesson and he better learn fast because next time I will kill him.”

“You can never kill Omario. I forbid it.”

This, I need her very clear on. Omario is still the man who cared enough to help me escape his father’s cruelty. I can’t just forget that because I am angry with him.

“Listen here, Missy. I hurt like hell when he fucks up. I am not going to tolerate that crap.” Nina boldly says. That pain is really excruciating, I understand her very well but it does not explain her earlier actions.

“Then why did you mark him?”

I understand why Titan marked me without Omario’s permission, he’s always liked me. Its not the same with Nina.

“Because he is our mate,” she says as if it’s something that should be obvious to me.

“He still needed to make that choice himself,” I respond firmly. As much as I a mad at Omario, I still don’t approve of our wolves making decisions this big without us.

“Well, he doesn’t.”

I guess stubborn is another one of her character.

“You do realise that you can’t force him, right?”

“Force? Are you kidding me? Have you met me? I’m incredible.”

I roll my eyes. Talk about confidence!

My heart starts pounding when I hear the knock at the door. Am I really ready to give myself to someone whose not my mate?

“Definitely!” Nina exclaims.

I hope that’s from the pain Omario put us through because slutty is not an attribute I want to encourage.

I take deep breaths and open the door and the definition of sex appeal, the multinational, sexiest male model at the moment, walks in. His nostrils flare before I’m suddenly trapped between my wall and his million dollar insane body. That’s literally how much that body of his is insured for because that’s how much it’s worth. Humans are really insane, I tell you.

“Babe girl, ready to play?” his husky voice makes my heart flutter before our lips meet. I guess there is no way back now.

I find myself wondering how the bond thing is supposed to work. The kiss with Omario felt like nothing I had ever experienced. It’s incomparable. I expected my body to repel this and find it disgusting, but Colton is quite a good kisser. I can feel the dampness between my legs by the time he kisses my neck and unzips my dress, which drops on the floor, leaving me with just my panties on.

“Absolutely stunning!” he exclaims, with a dangerous voice filled with desire.

Why can’t I have this effect on my mate?

“He is an idiot, forget about him.” Nina links back.

I laugh and back away from him. Well mate, here is to fighting fire with fire.

“Like what you see? Come get it,” I tease before turning around and climbing the stairs to my bedroom.

He chuckles and accepts the challenge. He is right behind me by the time I get up and his clothes are scattered all over the stairs.

I can’t help but be nervous when he wraps his arms around me and his erect manhood press on my thigh.

“I will be gentle, promise,” he murmurs before covering my lips with his.
