Chapter 55

Adi's POV

I dropped her to the ground as hard as I could. I even heard bones cracking because of what I did, and she screamed about the pain I'd caused her.

I don't care about it anyway.

She couldn't stand up on her own, so she started to crawl with her hands to go near those creatures that were starting to walk slowly towards us. They are glaring at me as if I did something wrong to all of them.

"You'll taste my wrath," I looked at her when she spoke. "I'll make sure of that."

"Make sure you walk first," I said sarcastically to her. Her fangs went out, and she was about to attack me when she fell to the ground on her own. Her right foot was injured.

Serves her right.

I felt a strong grip on my arms and immediately saw Ysmael pulling me back. His face is quite serious, and that's when I totally noticed what that woman meant. The whole house is now surrounded by Ysmael's kind, even on the roof. They literally make sure that they'll win this one.

My head hurt like hell all of a sudden, and I winced a bit. Ysmael noticed it and sighed.

"Leave this to us," he ordered, but then I refused. I let go of his hold and tied my hair up like a bun.

I'm ready to fight.

"Do you think I would miss out on this kind of fun?" I said before tearing off the shirt I'm wearing. I was left with only my sports bra and my jogging pants.

"This is not the fun we should have," he said, but then I pretended to hear nothing and looked at Luke.

"Get yourself ready," I ordered Luke, and he instantly agreed with me.

"War is not the solution for this," Ysmael tried to talk to me again, but then I wasn't hearing anything anymore.

All I just want to do is kill all of these fucking idiots who are with that woman. I don't care where she comes from or what she could possibly bring here right now; all I want is to kill her in the hardest way I could ever do it.

I hear Ysmael's people are already howling. A lot of them are his kind, while others are with guns, bows, and arrows. When his grandfather stepped outside of the house, I felt nervous. I saw how he transformed into a huge form; I bet he could kill them off right away.

Shaina's also ready to transform, while Luke has already turned his eyes into red ones. Everyone's ready to fight, and I finally looked him in the eye.

"Are you ready?" I asked him in a whispering manner.

He held my hand and kissed it before he looked back at me and nodded. I slightly smiled at him and kissed his hand that was holding mine.

Just then, I sensed someone coming from Ysmael's side, and when I looked at the direction behind him, I saw multiple vans parked beside the house. When they came out, I almost gasped.

It's my parents, together with our men.

I think Mom was trying to find me when Luke immediately went in her direction, and when our eyes met, she nodded and smiled.

They're here.

They are actually here.

The woman's voice resurfaced again, and it looks like she already recharged herself from what I did to her. I looked in their direction, and it seems like her men are getting so many. I clenched my fist and looked in every direction where I saw creatures grinning like crazy, and I couldn't even count how many there were.

She hysterically laughed and walked towards me again as she stretched out her injured feet. She's indeed a vampire, and she's also a powerful one.

"I'm with you 'till the end," Ysmael suddenly whispered in my ear.

"And I'll be with you till we meet again in the afterlife," I said before swiftly moving closer to the enemy.

Some of them shouted my name, but I ignored all of it. There's only one thing that makes all of these troubles grow bigger, and that's me. I'm the one who's at fault, and it is only right that I should be the one to stop them.

I stood up only a meter away from her.

"What's your name, by the way?" I asked.

"Ethel," she proudly said.

"Wow, that sounds like a bitch already," I tried to tease her, and the amount of her anger immediately showed in her eyes. It is red as hell.

She raised her hand, and that's when I started to move as quickly as I could. All of the creatures she's with are targeting me and even tried to attack me, but I ran into the woods to lose them there. I heard some howling from their side, and that's when I knew that there were also werewolves on their side.

I saw her behind me trying to get me, and so I shouted at her.

"You sounded so hypocritical just by telling me that I sided with the enemies!" I laughed while jumping from one branch of the tree to another.

I stopped for a moment, and she almost got the opportunity to grab me by my shoulders, but I turned and instantly jumped to the other tree, but then I was caught by a werewolf. I hit the ground, and it caused a loud thud. It was pinning me to the ground, but when my right hand got free, I buried it to its neck, and it immediately groaning from what I did. I pushed him to the side, and only a second passed when he instantly died. I think I hit a nerve.

I heard loud groans again, and when I looked up, they glared at me like crazy again.

"Hey! Glaring at me won't change anything," I said before I rolled my eyes and ran away from them again.

"I began to realize that you're really strong indeed," Ethel said as she landed on the ground behind me.

I turned in her direction, but then she grasped my hand and pulled me closer to her.

"But I'm stronger," she whispered before she pushed me back, and so I took a couple of steps backwards.

"Are you sure about that?" I said while my head was lowered, facing the ground.

I can hear them screaming her name, and some of them are protesting for a one-on-one fight. They keep yelling, but suddenly I saw Ysmael on my right side, just a bit far from me, but we can see each other clearly. He's with the others, and now it's split in half. Half of them are screaming for me to fight, while the other side feels quiet and is just trying to read the whole atmosphere going on.

"It looks like you have nothing left but to fight me," she immediately laughed at the idea of it.

But my attention was drawn to another when I tilted my head and saw something shiny on the side of her head. It's like a microchip, or I don't know what it's called, but half of it is planted on her skin.

I found the opportunity to catch her off guard, and when I have the chance, I move as fast as I can to get it. She immediately felt what I did, and she even touched that side of her neck.

I looked at the microchip and read what was on it. The label already has scratches on it, as if she was scratching it when it was still on her neck.

"Give that chip back," she demanded.

Almost everyone went silent when they saw what happened.

"What's in it anyway?" I asked suspiciously.

"None of your fucking business," she immediately replied and tried to get it from me, but I hopped on one of the branches of a tree.

"I won't give it back, not until you tell me," I said, trying to trick her. "Come and get me, you monster."

She glared at me, but then when she tried to jump as high as she could, my lips slightly parted when I saw how sloppy she was when she did that. I was stunned for a moment, but not until I realized what just happened. I looked at the microchip I was holding, and I smirked.

"So you're getting your strength from this little thing, huh?" I asked her, but she lowered her head. I looked at the creatures on her side, but they seemed to avoid my gaze, and some of them were already running from the battleground.

I heard from below that Luke already laughed when he realized what just happened, and in just a second, I saw him move his way to quickly get those microchips from each enemy from the North. That's what my parents, Ysmael, and other people on my side tried to do.

Just as they were busy chasing everyone around, I saw how Ethel felt weak on the ground, and so I jumped back in her direction. When she felt the impact of my jump, she took a step backward.

"Who's the loser now?" I asked.

Ethel glared at me. She ran in my direction to attack me, but with only one swift move to avoid her, she instantly fell to the ground. I laughed at her as a tease for her pride. She held onto my ankle, and she tried to pull me down, but instead I stepped on her hand, and so she screamed.

"This is not what I expected from you, but I'll just take what you've got for now," I said to tease her again.

I leveled with her, and she aggressively attacked me with her bare hands. She scratched my cheek, and I felt blood running down my neck, but I just showed her how I managed to heal my wound in an instant.

"You'll pay for all of the things you did today," she said with finality.

"Of course I will," I said, like it was a matter of fact. "But that is obviously not up to you."

I grabbed her by her hair, and as I closed my eyes, I heard how I broke her neck, and she screamed for the last time. I separated her head from her body just to make sure that she was already dead.

The loud cracking of her head separating from her body caught the attention of everybody, and so I noticed that little by little, they ran away to the forest. The howling of the werewolves sounded like a grimace, and I smirked at them.

One last glance at the last werewolf I saw from them, and I already know.

It's over.

Everything is over.

My knees felt weak the moment I couldn't seem to sense any danger around us. I fell to the ground, and the sight of the branches of the trees overlapping each other with a little sunlight peeking through felt so calm.

This is finally the end.

I'm at the end.

I heard footsteps from my left side, and when I turned my head in the direction of them, I saw him walking calmly with his hands in his pockets.

He looked majestic again.

He lay down beside me and turned around to look me straight in the eye. He then reached for my forehead for a kiss.

"You can finally rest now," he said.

"We can finally rest now," I corrected him.

He looked up above, and the way he smiled was already satisfying for me.

At last, we're at ease.
