"Calm down, I'll get to the bottom of this, just get some rest" he patted her back and stood up, he wanted to make some calls to find out who was behind this.
Bella grabbed his hand when he made to leave her room, "Please, don't go...I... I'm scared"
Daniel loves sleeping alone and he needed to be alone that night so as to find out things.
"I'm sorry to ask that from you, it's just that I can't think of sleeping here alone this night after what just happened"
Daniel sighed, much as he hated it, he'll have to oblige her, she is his wife after all even if it's just on paper. "I'll sleep on the couch", he turned off the light and lay on the couch, he watched her until her breath even out before he closed his eyes to sleep. He can't take the chance of making calls in the room or he will be risking her hearing, whatever call he has to make, he will do it tomorrow.
His eyes snapped open and he quickly grabbed his gun when he heard Bella scream, his eyes located her on the bed and he released his hold on the gun when he noticed that she was only having a nightmare
"Bella, wake up, you're dreaming" he grabbed her shoulders but she struggled against him, "Bella" he shook her fiercely and her eyes flung open. Her gaze was at first confused before she calmly brought his face into focus
She quickly wrapped her arms around his shoulders in a tight hug, "don't leave me here, please stay here on the bed with me" she sobbed.
Daniel woke up and panicked when he noticed that he was alone in the bed, he quickly ran downstairs and skidded to a stop when he saw her seated and sipping coffee
"Good morning, I made breakfast," she says just as the smell of bacon wafts through his nose, he was shocked to see her all dressed up, he was surprised to see her all dressed up after her traumatizing experience the previous night
Bella stared at his bare chest and quickly averted her eyes as colors filled her cheeks, it's no longer a secret to her that her husband was quite handsome, she blushed some more when she remembered that she had slept on the same bed with him.
She shook her head as if to clear it, what's wrong with her? After what Jeremy did to her, she shouldn't be admiring another man, not even if he is her husband, there's no place in her heart for love and trust.
She stood up from the table agitated at her own thoughts and almost spilled coffee on herself, "serve yourself breakfast, I'm out"
"Hold on a second, where are you going?"
"To look for a job"
"Are you serious?" Daniel could not believe what he was hearing, even after her attack she was still so hell-bent on getting a job, "hold on, I'll get dressed and we'll go together"
"I'm sorry but I don't need a bodyguard"
"Do I need to refresh your memory that someone tried to kill you at night?"
"You don't need to remind me because my memory is still intact but I don't think that I was the target "
Daniel's eyes narrowed on her, "oh yeah? Who's the target then?"
"I don't have any enemy, who would want to kill me, I think the target was your friend. Perhaps, they thought he was back from his trip"
"You are so sure that it wasn't you, are you certain that you didn't listen to a conversation that wasn't meant for you and now they're out to get you?"
Bella paled at his words, he hit the nail right on its head but she could be mistaken about that
"Goodbye," she replied and walked out.

"Isabella, is that you?" Someone asked and Bella turned around to see Brittany, her high school classmate. Bella had gone to a drug store to see if she could get the position of a salesperson and was shocked to see that it was her high school classmate that's running the store
"I'm sorry Isabella, but right now, the store cannot afford to hire another hand"
Bella felt a pang of disappointment but she masked it and smiled her brightest
"Were you able to finish college? If you did, I can direct you to a very prestigious company, it is owned by a very mysterious man but their salary is good, that I can assure you"
A ray of hope filtered into her heart, "I'm sorry, I didn't finish college but I could still give it a try"
"Really? But why didn't you finish college, I mean, you were one of the smartest students that I've ever known"
"Er...er... something happened and I didn't finish but let's not talk about that, I'll try to get a job in that company"
"Nikolai Klaus can be very picky about his employees"
"Nikolai Klaus?"
"Yeah, he is the owner of the company and king of the underworld but can you believe that only very few people have seen him? I heard that he is handsome just like a Greek god... I'll give anything to get just a glimpse of him" Brittany was dreamy as she pictured the image of Nikolai Klaus in her head and Bella was intrigued
"How come only a few people have seen him? What about his employees"
"Only a few lucky ones have seen him, I'll give anything for just a glimpse of him....oh, Bella, I'm so in love already"
Bella frowned, "you're in love with someone you haven't seen or met?"
"It doesn't matter, I love him with just the rumors about him and oh, I know that he's still single"
"Really? Well, let's hope that one day you'll get your prince charming. For now, I have to look for a job. Give me the address"
"Oh yes" Brittany quickly got a pen and scribbled down the address on a piece of paper, "if ever you get to see Mr Mysterious Man, please do tell him that I love him"
Bella rolled her eyes in an exaggerated manner, "First let me get the job, then if I ever get to see your Nikolai Klaus, I'll give him your message "
"Wait, ain't you interested even a little bit?"
"I'm married and shouldn't be thinking about other men. Thanks for this address " she added and hugged Brittany before saying her goodbye.
She wasn't a bit interested in Nikolai Klaus but she was intrigued at what she just heard and she thought about it all through as she made her way home.
The taxi stopped her on the other side of the road, she would have to cross to the other side before she got home, it was getting late already, at least, her search for a job was futile but she was grateful to at least, get an address of a company that is currently recruiting staff, she would apply there first thing tomorrow morning. She looked both sides of the road and, satisfied that no car was coming, she started to cross but suddenly she heard the sound of a car and she turned left to see a black sedan coming towards her at top speed and she froze right in the middle of the road.
A hand suddenly grabbed her and she was tossed around and fell on top of someone. Her eyes were tightly shut for a moment and slowly she opened them and came in contact with Daniel's caramel gaze. Two things registered in her head and that is someone had just tried to run her over and Daniel had saved her life.
"Now, you know for sure that someone wants you dead"
She shuddered at the thought and pushed away from him but he grabbed her before she could completely get off him, "Start talking, who do you think tried to kill you?"
"I...I... I don't know....let me go"
"That's bullshit, you're hiding something and you know who it is or you at least suspects someone, you can count on me you know"
"I don't want to get you involved"
"Get me involved in what? Tell me Bella, who is trying to hurt you?" Daniel shook her so hard that her teeth clashed against each other
"I think it's your father" she screamed and scrambled away from him
He stilled and let go of her arms that he was clutching
"Why the hell would my father want to harm you?" He asked and also stood up from the ground, she opened her mouth to answer just as the first shot rang out.

"Hey buddy, I've got a new video and this gonna fetch us some money"
"Jeremy, I'm amazed at how you manage to trap these girls, what if she decides to sue you?"
Jeremy snickered, "She won't dare, they all don't have the guts to sue me but I must say, the one that fetched me a lot of money was Bella"
"Do you have an idea where she is now?"
"No dude, but one thing is for sure, I will find her but for now, let me upload this video"
Charles shook his head as he stared at his friend Jeremy, although, he was making cool cash from what he was doing, he just hoped that one of these girls would not decide to suddenly fight back, that way, he wouldn't think twice about ditching his friend because he would not want to get in trouble with the law.
"It's done, I've uploaded it, cheers to our new video," Jeremy said as he raised a glass and they both toast to more money that they will get from uploading naked pictures and videos on the site.
