Bella came back from her outing with Jason and the kids, since Nikky's surgery, this was the first time they took her out and she was exhausted already, Bella had to come back home with her so that she could rest.
Bella was about to open the door when she saw a paper on her doorpost, she quickly opened it and behold it was a court order waiting for her on her doorpost, her hand shook a bit as she read it, oh well, she already knew that Daniel was a man of his word and as he had threatened her with a lawsuit, he would pursue with the case.
But she did not understand why was she still affected by it when she already knew him so well.
She leaned on the doorpost to support her trembling feet and using the back of her hand, she wiped away the sweat that has suddenly formed on her forehead, her breathing was coming in a short gasp, damn, she was having a panic attack
"Are you okay?" Jason rushed towards her and snatched the paper from her hand, his brow furrowed at just a glance of it, he stated at her and patted her back,
"Breathe Bella, breathe in...and out" he commanded.
Bella leaned forward and placed her head on her door post, she opened her mouth and sucked in air. She was like that for five minutes before she finally started feeling better,
"Mom, are you alright?" Niko asked and took her hand in his small one as he stared up at her, his blue gaze filled with concern.
Bella forced a smile and nodded, she still hadn't told her kids about Daniel, she kept stalling, part of her wished that he would forget about his threat but from the court paper she had just received, he was determined to push through with it.
she stumbled inside her apartment, her head reeling as she thought of what next to do, obviously, she had to get a lawyer or she would take the easier way to run away but she could not just start running with Nikky that has not fully recovered.
She stared at Nikky as she placed her on the bed, her eyes were already dropping close already, running off was not an option as it would put Nikky's health in jeopardy, she would have to speak with Daniel, she would put her pride aside and begged him.
She does not care, she would do anything to keep her kids with her, she was going paranoid already with the thought of losing them, and right now, she does not want to think, she only wants to act.
She will have a talk with him right away.
"I'll be back," she told Niko and snatched the court order from Jason's hand.
Bella stomped off the house, ignoring Jason's call, she had to make Daniel listen to her and let him know that even if he had all the money in the world, she wouldn't allow him to take her kids away from her.
Bella stared at the security guards in front of J&D Textiles, she had no intention of passing through the guards, they might not even let her in.
Daniel had shown her a secret passage that he had always used when he didn't want to be seen, they had both passed through there on one occasion when he had to secretly whisked her out of the company without being seen.
She hoped that the passage was still in existence.
She sighed in relief as she opened the door and it gave way. Her heart thudded heavily at the sight of the elevator and for a moment she contemplated running back.
The day she had passed here with Daniel, he had held her all through while she burrowed against him, he shielded and protected her and her claustrophobia was not too serious that day.
"I can do it" she murmured as she got into the elevator, she shut her eyes very tight and thought about Nikky and Niko.
The elevator dinged and she opened her eyes to realize that she was standing right in front of Daniel's office
Her stomach quivered as she thought of seeing him again and her palm grew sweaty, she must not allow herself to become nervous. She took a deep breath and pushed his office door opened
"Damn it" she muttered inwardly as pairs of eyes stared at her, he was obviously in a meeting with the executives and they all turned to stare at the sudden interruption.
Bella felt her cheeks grow warm at the attention she had gathered and she rode her head in indignation
"I need to speak with you Nikolai Klaus, it is a matter of life and death," she said loudly, her gaze never leaving Daniel's face
What she has to say to him is more important than whatever meeting he was holding with his executives
Daniel's expression didn't change as he regarded her, was that amusement she saw in his eyes?
"Ladies and gentlemen, that will be all for today, I will let you all know when our next meeting will be scheduled. I am so sorry for the interruption but as you have heard, it is a matter of life and death"
Daniel was talking to the executives but his gaze never left hers.
The executives all stood up and left one after the other, each wearing a curious gaze as they moved past her.
Aaron paused beside her and whispered, "Welcome back" She swallowed and nodded but her gaze never wavered from Daniel's gaze
She wasn't back anyways, she would leave when Nikky fully recovers
Finally, they were all gone and the air in Daniel's office suddenly became tense.
In the five years since she left, he hadn't changed a bit, he was still the same rugged-looking handsome dude she had known, he looked just a tad more mature but that's that.
He looked like the alpha male that he was, in his navy blue suit, his chest was more pronounced and he looked like he had really engaged himself in workouts.
"What is the matter that is so serious and couldn't wait?" He asked, his tone was reserved and his gaze intensed. He walked close to her, his gaze never wavered, and stood right in front of her.
His nearness muddled her brain but she was not going to let him intimidate her or let him know how his nearness was affecting her
He leaned close to her and her breath whooshed out, she clutched her handbag tighter but he had only leaned in to shut the door behind her
His hand still on the door, he simply turned his face towards her ear, "Cat got your tongue?" He whispered, his breath fanned her neck and she shivered, her eyes drop closed and she savored his scent that wrapped around her
"What the hell do you want from me?" She murmured, she imagined those lips of his on her nape, she had always loved it when he kissed her nape, oh, it was heavenly
"What I want are my kids" he murmured softly and her eyes flew open, what was she doing
Bella shoved him away from her, "You wanted us out of your life, why don't you just leave us alone, I will never let you take my kids from me"
"I didn't want them out of my life, you took them out of my life without my consent and now, I want them and there is nothing that you can do about it"
"They don't need you"
"Of course they do and I will never allow a random jerk to take my place in their lives"
"Jason is not a random jerk, he has been a father figure to them"
Daniel angrily clutches her hand, "the only father figure they should have is me" he clenched out
"Oh please, do not do this" Bella cried as she stared at him
Daniel regarded her for a moment, "there is just one solution to this"
Hope flared in her heart as she stared at him "What?"
"Chase that random jerk away from your life" his tone made Bella's stomach quiver and she could not tear her gaze from his
"Why?" She murmured
"Because I need you in mine" he replied and without warning, used the hand he was holding to jerk her closer to him, his lips covered hers.

Fireworks exploded in Bella's head and every other thoughts disappeared at the touch of his lips on hers and unconsciously, she drew closer to him and gave him full access to her mouth.

Just thinking about what had happened between them made him hard again, she was even sweeter than he could remember.

Daniel vowed to get his wife back, even if it meant using his kids as an excuse. He wants his kids with him but he also wants his wife back and he is on a mission to get her back by whatever means possible.
