The next day—
Sunday morning.
10:00 AM.
In front of the academy gate.
Noah and Adam were already waiting at the gate when Aria arrived.
A minute later, Asher also showed up and joined them.
Noah looked at Asher’s face and said, "Your face looks weird today. It was never that handsome to begin with, but now you somehow look even more average."
Adam also looked at him and nodded. "Yeah, you look way too average to be a noble. Did you inherit only talent from your parents and not their looks?"
Asher looked at them and replied, "Oh, my face? Well, you can slightly change your appearance if you understand biology and healing magic, so I altered mine a little so it wouldn’t attract attention while we’re outside.
And it’s not like I want to become a model, so why would appearance even matter to me? As long as my body is healthy, I don’t really care about it."
Adam sighed dramatically. "What a waste. If I had that ability, I would make myself unbelievably handsome."
Noah immediately nodded in agreement. "Exactly. Instead of becoming more average, I would become handsome."
Asher looked at them and sighed. "You guys are weird. It’s not like food tastes better when you’re handsome, so it doesn’t really matter."
Then Asher looked at Aria and said, "And I can bet five ice creams that we’re going to get into trouble because of her looks. I’m sure some guy who thinks with his ego instead of his brain will show up and cause problems."
Aria’s expression immediately turned cold.
She looked at Asher and said, "Why does it sound like you’re blaming me for something I haven’t even done yet?"
Asher looked at her and said, "Because it will definitely happen, and I’m telling you right now—don’t drag me into it when it does."
Aria just ignored him and said nothing.
Meanwhile, Adam and Noah just looked at them.
Then Adam said, "You guys seem quite close."
Asher thought for a moment before replying, "Well, you could say that. We’ve spent quite a few late nights together just talking to each other."
As soon as Asher said that, everyone became quiet.
Noah and Adam stood there with their mouths open, not knowing what to say.
Aria just looked at him and said, "You really are an idiot. People can misunderstand your words."
Asher looked at her in confusion and replied, "I didn’t say anything misleading. We were just talking in the garden late at night to relax. What is there to misunderstand? Only an idiot would misunderstand that."
Aria then looked at Noah and Adam and said in a cold voice, "Well, there are many idiots in this world, especially teenagers with no brains."
The moment Noah and Adam heard Aria’s voice, a feeling of dread spread throughout their bodies.
Noah and Adam then said together, "We’re getting late. We should go now."
Aria and Asher nodded.
The four of them then left the academy and headed into the city.
The streets of the city were filled with noise and movement. People walked past them in groups.
Noah stretched his arms and grinned. "Finally, some freedom. I was starting to feel trapped inside the academy."
Adam nodded in agreement. "Weeks of training, classes, and survival test would drive anyone insane."
Asher then asked, "So where do we go first?"
Noah looked at Adam.
Adam looked back at him and said, "Why are you looking at me? It wasn’t my idea to come outside."
Asher then said, "Well, let’s go to a gaming cafe. We can play some games and enjoy ourselves, then eat something, and after that go to a library and sleep."
Noah looked at him and said, "You don’t know anything other than food, gaming, and sleep, right?"
Asher replied with a smile, "I also know how to kill. Want to experience dying?"
Noah did not say anything for a moment before saying, "Let’s just go to a gaming cafe."
Then all of them went to a gaming café and played games for some time.
While playing games, Asher said, "You guys are freaking noobs. What were you even doing during your childhood? Playing with dolls or something, even Aria is better than you even though it’s her first time playing "
Adam replied, "Not everyone has free time to play games like you. We also have to study and train."
Asher looked at him and said, "Typical excuse of noobs. You’re not even that good in real life. You’re still just a malfunctioning AC, nothing more."
Adam’s expression twitched as soon as he heard that.
Adam glared at Asher and said, "At least I’m not lazy. You sleep half the day and eat for the other half."
Asher leaned back lazily in his chair and replied, "And yet I still defeated you, just how pathetic a person can be"
Adam crossed his arms and said, "One day someone is going to beat that smug expression off your face."
Noah sighed and stood up. "Alright, enough arguing. Let’s play one more match."
Asher cracked his fingers and grinned. "Prepare yourselves for another humiliating defeat."
Adam looked at Noah and muttered, "Why do I feel like coming here was a mistake?"
Noah nodded seriously. "Because it definitely was."
After some time, they all left the gaming cafe with different expressions on their faces.
Asher’s face was full of joy, as if it had been the best day of his life.
Aria still had an indifferent expression.
Meanwhile, Noah and Adam looked depressed after losing every match.
Asher then looked at both of them and said, "Just don’t start crying here. There’s no need to cry over games."
Adam and Noah looked at Asher, wondering when he had become so considerate.
Then Asher continued, "You can cry your eyes out after reaching your rooms. We still have lunch to eat."
Adam and Noah clenched their fists and thought, "What else can you even expect from him?"
