Monster’s Streamer Star Chapter 14

The slime focused on the pure white snowy mountain and the figure of Fenrir displayed on the screen.

“Let’s first look for a suitable prey!”

Fenrir began moving to find a target.

‘Wow!’

The slime was amazed watching Fenrir’s movements.

From a third-person view, Fenrir looked incredibly fast and agile.

Even though the snowy mountain was entirely covered in white, Fenrir’s swift movement stood out clearly.

The moment he moved, the gently falling snow suddenly appeared to accelerate.

It wasn’t the snow that sped up.

It only looked that way because the camera followed Fenrir’s movement.

[Squishy] ▶ So fast! Just rams through! So fast!

“Hahaha! Of course I’m fast! I’m Fenrir!”

[Squishy] ▶ Fenrir?

“That’s my species! Squishy! You’re a slime too!”

‘Ah!’

The slime now clearly understood the concept of a name and species.

[Squishy] ▶ Fenrir! So fast!

“Yeah! I’m fast!”

Fenrir ran swiftly down the snowy mountain and entered a forested area midway down.

Unlike the forest where the slime resided, the trees on the snowy mountain weren’t densely packed but sparsely scattered.

‘Wow! White trees!’

The sight of trees not green but covered in white snow made the slime’s eyes sparkle.

“Found it! Squishy! Watch closely!”

While the slime was marveling, Fenrir found a suitable prey to demonstrate on.

A boar-type monster with white fur, nicknamed the Snow Boar.

The White Boar entered Fenrir’s sight.

Normally, it would be a quick hunt ending with a bite to the neck.

But the purpose of this hunt was for the slime’s special training, so Fenrir approached the White Boar and spoke.

“From now on, I’ll mimic the moves you made! Focus!”

[Squishy] ▶ Okay!

It wouldn’t help to show a perfect example right away anyway.

Fenrir thought it was more important to make Squishy feel what he had done wrong.

Fenrir approached the White Boar and revealed himself.

“Grrrk!?”

A predator appeared out of nowhere.

Sensing that it was hopeless to win against a being far stronger, the White Boar instinctively tried to turn and flee.

But Fenrir was already there, blocking its escape.

With overwhelming speed, Fenrir cut off the boar’s path and began mimicking the slime’s movements.

Fenrir darted around slowly enough for the White Boar to follow with its eyes.

‘Hmm?’

Watching this, the slime sensed something odd.

Was it because the movements were slower than usual?

No, that wasn’t it.

It was the strange rhythm of the movements.

Sometimes Fenrir moved right after landing, and other times he hesitated before moving.

The movements clearly seemed clumsy.

Even to a slime inexperienced in hunting, it looked awkward.

And it wasn’t just the slime who noticed.

The White Boar also sensed that something was off with Fenrir’s movements.

The predator, who should’ve been overwhelming, looked off.

In other words, he seemed unskilled.

The White Boar even started doubting—maybe this big guy was just all bark and no bite?

“Grrrrk!”

Feeling a sudden surge of confidence, the White Boar actually tried to attack Fenrir.

With its best move—charging in with its tusks!

“A boar? Charging at me?”

Seeing the boar charging, Fenrir frowned.

Even though he was intentionally holding back for the slime’s training, being underestimated by prey was irritating.

If he had a worse temper, he would’ve finished the boar the moment it charged.

But instead, he held back.

Fenrir had patience.

Compared to the drop in status at home, his children ignoring him, and his wife’s cold glare, this was nothing.

Annoyance caused by slime training was minor in comparison!

Dodging the boar’s charge with ease, Fenrir called out to the slime.

“Squishy! How did that look to you just now?”

[Squishy] ▶ Weird! Off beat! Everything’s all separate!

“Hahaha! So you can see it! That’s it! What I just did—those were your moves!”

[Squishy] ▶ Me?

“Yeah! You started off fine, but then your rhythm broke, and you hesitated! Now… I’ll show you how it’s really done!”

Fenrir smiled, pleased at the slime's immediate recognition of the issue.

If the slime hadn’t understood, he would’ve had to keep getting humiliated by the boar.

“Watch how I really move!”

Thud!

Fenrir began moving again, stepping onto the snowy ground.

The direction was the same.

But the speed and rhythm were completely different from before.

Confident, natural, and smooth.

True to the phrase “moving freely,” Fenrir zigzagged in multiple directions, showing movements dazzling enough to stun the White Boar.

‘Woooow! Amazing!’

The slime was amazed by Fenrir’s sleek, flowing movements.

And at the same time, a new desire began to bloom within the slime.

‘I want to do that too!’

A yearning to move just like that.

A desire to move fast, naturally, and skillfully like Fenrir ignited within the slime.

[Squishy] ▶ Amazing! Amazing! So fast! Wow!

“Hehehe, guess I’ll wrap it up now!”

Still glancing at the chat while moving, Fenrir finished up, satisfied with the slime’s reaction.

Unlike at the beginning, Fenrir’s sudden sharp movement left the White Boar stunned.

In that moment, Fenrir’s body tackle struck.

WHAM!

“Grrrrrk!”

The White Boar, hit squarely by the body slam, was flung violently the moment it was struck.

The White Boar, flung with tremendous force, broke through three trees.

Naturally, the White Boar lying on the ground had already lost its life.

“Did you see that, Squishy? Try doing it like this next time!”

[Squishy] ▶ Okay! Just ram and go! Amazing!

“Bwahahahaha!”

Fenrir was delighted by the pure cheers and admiration of the slime.

But Fenrir didn’t know.

That when he happily returned home, his wife, sulking because he ignored her words and left, would be waiting for him.

***

And now, returning to the present.

The slime, who had perfectly adapted to controlling its strength, had come very close to mimicking Fenrir’s movements that it had wanted to imitate.

With a little more practice, it would be safe to say it had mastered them.

Where it once caught a deer once every ten attempts, now it could catch one in eight out of ten tries.

Perhaps because it had grown used to hunting, the slime's dissatisfaction in wanting to see new scenery grew stronger.

That desire was reflected in the title of the slime’s broadcast.

The slime had turned off its stream once to watch Fenrir’s broadcast.

When Fenrir’s broadcast ended, the system asked if it wanted to resume its stream.

Hearing that voice, the slime discovered something new.

It was the “Change Broadcast Title” feature.

And now, the slime’s new broadcast title was not “I want to see,” but “I want to go out.”

As the same patterns kept repeating, viewer visits to the slime’s stream had dwindled.

When the title was changed for the first time in a while, it caught the attention of a few viewers.

[Squishy Queen] ▶ My kin! What do you mean you want to go out?

▶ Wanna remove yourself from monster life? lolll

[Free Spirit] ▶ ??? Something happen?

Slime Queen, Squishy, and Troll entered the chat, reacting to the title.

▷ Same!

[Squishy Queen] ▶ What’s the same?

▷ Forest! Same forest! I want to go out! I want to see something else!

[Free Spirit] ▶ Oh, so you meant you want to leave the forest?

[Squishy Queen] ▶ Is that what it was?

First, realizing it wasn’t a serious situation, Slime Queen felt relieved.

Troll also quickly understood what was going on.

‘Yeah, that forest really is massive. And you can hardly find any monsters nearby.’

The forest centered around the elf village.

Commonly referred to as the “Green Elf Forest,” it was one of the largest forests on the continent of Derxia.

Moreover, trained elves regularly patrolled it,

So unless a monster was worth fighting, like a slime, they would attack any monster they saw.

Thus, the monsters that lived in the Green Elf Forest stayed far away from the elf village, on the outskirts.

‘It’s already been over a week since Squishy left the elf forest…’

After mentally calculating the slime’s movement speed and the size of the forest, Troll typed in the chat.

[Free Spirit] ▶ Squishy! Don’t worry. You’ll be out of the forest soon.

▷ Wow! Really?

[Free Spirit] ▶ Yup. Just keep going straight and you’ll see what’s beyond the forest. But be careful.

▷ Careful?

[Free Spirit] ▶ Squishy, you’ve seen elves, right?

▷ Elf! Saw!

[Free Spirit] ▶ Then you’ll see creatures that look similar to elves—humans.

▷ Humans?

‘Hoo… I hope Squishy listens well.’

Troll couldn’t easily predict how Squishy would react.

Squishy was just too pure.

Hoping Squishy would react the way he expected, Troll continued typing.

[Free Spirit] ▶ Humans might attack you, Squishy! So it’s better to avoid them if you meet one!

[Squishy Queen] ▶ Yes, Troll spoke well. My kin is still weak. So it’s best to avoid humans!

Troll and Slime Queen gave advice out of concern for the slime.

But the slime didn’t quite grasp the warning.

Because the first elf it met had given it deer blood and jerky.

‘Looks like an elf? Human! Then good!’

Squishy couldn’t imagine a human who looked like an elf attacking it.

▷ Will they really attack?

[Free Spirit] ▶ They might. Or they might ignore you. But if they do attack, it's best to run! But if it comes down to it, you can fight back!

Running was the best option, but if necessary, defense was required.

Since the slime could take down a deer in one blow, Troll figured it could probably take down an ordinary person or a novice adventurer easily.

[Free Spirit] ▶ But there’s something you absolutely must follow! Never forget this!

▷ Something I must follow?

Troll finally gave the advice he’d been meaning to say for a while.

[Free Spirit] ▶ Even if you defeat them, you must never eat a human! Seriously, don’t eat them! It’s a huge problem if you do!

▷ A huge problem?

[Squishy Queen] ▶ ? Troll, what’s such a big problem about eating a human?

Slime Queen questioned Troll’s warning.

Being from the Great Continent and having only seen humans via broadcast, Slime Queen didn’t understand  the danger Troll was worried about.

[Free Spirit] ▶ If Squishy eats a human and another human sees it—big trouble! All humans could become your enemy instantly!

[Squishy Queen] ▶ What? Is that true?

▶Ahahaha those nasty humans, yeah they’re like that.

▶They get weirdly united over things like this loll.

▶ Even if it’s not them getting eaten, if you eat another human, they freak out and rage out lololol

▶ They kill each other all the time, but go ballistic in situations like this. Absolute worst type—group drama queens lol

Even though Troll’s warning didn’t completely register, the slime saw the chat’s reaction and decided not to do it.

‘Humans! Won’t eat! Dangerous! Big trouble!’

Still having some trust in the chat, the slime decided to accept their advice.

And thirty minutes later.

While continuing to move, a lifeform appeared in the slime’s vision.

Green skin, yellow eyes slitted vertically.

A body larger than the slime’s.

Pointy ears.

And arms and legs shaped similarly to those of elves.

Even the slime could tell it wasn’t an elf, but it also couldn’t say there were no similarities.

As soon as it saw the creature, the slime asked in the chat.

▷ That! Is that a human?

[Free Spirit] ▶ That’s a goblin.

▶lol

▶Calling a goblin a human lol

▶Omg lol

▶ But they do share a lot of traits

The slime’s innocent question once again made the chat burst into laughter.
