My stomach crunched into a tight knot. Everything went blurry around me. All I could think of was a smiling Lily, a crying Lily and lastly a hanging Lily. Silent tears began to shed from my eyes.
It was Leonardo... Leonardo King who took away the most important person of my life!
I shifted my attention back to them, Jenny continued to rumble her words out,
" You pushed her to kill herself to cover up your crime. Tell me, Leonardo King. Are you going to do the same with me? Let me tell you! I am not a coward to take my own life. I better leave an asshole like you rather than killing myself because you aren't worth it. "
Leonardo stepped forward to grip her with her jaw, pressing harder as Jenny's eyes began to wide and watery. She looked like she was in so much pain. I pressed a hand on my lips to stop my crying. I wish that I could help her but I could put my baby in danger if I approached them.
Leonardo kept threatening Jenny, his voice sounding no less than a devil,
" If you don't give birth to a son, you will have a worse fate than Lily. Also, don't forget that your father's property is under my name currently. Don't try to play smart, Jenny."
Leonardo pushed her on the ground, left in fury through the opposite door. Jenny stayed there crying and shaking violently. I felt pity for her as a grown up mother.
Coming out of the darkness, I walked over to Jenny to offer her comfort,
" Jenny...."
Despite being mean to me, her cries really melted my heart. I could feel her emotions. If Lorenzo ever said to me that he wanted a son only, I would have hated him more than anything else in this world. Jenny went dumbstruck for a while. Wiping her tears off, she blurted in fury,
" What are you doing here, Valentina? You heard us, right? Now, you must be happy to see me crying."
I bit the corner of my lips and let my rage control my emotions,
" I have no interest in your private affair with Leonardo, Jenny. I stopped by because I heard a name. Tell me the truth. Do you know about Lily Whitelock?"
Jenny's eyes went bigger in shock and surprise. Her throat went dry before blurting,
" How..how do you know about her?"
I wiped the tears from my eyes. Pressing my lips together, I blurted in a whisper,
" Because..she was my best friend. Leonardo pushed her to commit suicide, didn't he?"
Jenny's face had several changes of emotions. Her lips parted to gasp in shock,
" Im.. impossible..How can you... Lily had a fault as well. I warned her too many times, Valentina."
I shouted back, tears pouring from my eyes,
" Is this why you are being quiet because you hate Lily? How can you live with a murder who killed his own child?? I saw how he was hitting you. Is that what you call love? Don't you want to give a peaceful life to your baby?"
I couldn't believe that she was still silent despite knowing all the crimes that Leonardo had done. I had to give justice to my best friend who was there for me when no one else was there to support me. Jenny muttered in daze, her watery eyes fluttering,
" What.. what do you mean?"
I blurted out in a breath, my chest tightening in pain to think how my naive friend had died,
" Expose Leonardo to the police. Tell them the truth, Jenny. If he can kill his own baby, he can kill you too. Expose him!"
