Chapter Two sides of mirror

Yul's POV.

"Are you a leech or something? Why do you keep on coming back?" I asked. Cara was beside me, we were inside a bar.

Flint butted in, "Yeah, right. Too much affection, huh?"

Flint poured me a drink, as well as Cara. I responded, "Things are even more difficult to fix now between me and my wife because of your persistent desire to hook up with me. What did I do to deserve this?"

She leaned on my shoulder, which made me jolt. "Come on, stop it while I'm still being nice. Your whole personality gives me a headache."

"Why can't you just love me instead of her? Can't you find me yummy or something?" she asked. My god, is she even serious with that kind of question? YUMMY? Tch.

"Pfft... god damn it, you're making me laugh," Flint said, almost near to throwing up.

Cara rolled her eyes. "Shut up if your opinion is not being asked."

Flint smirked. "Suits you perfectly! Stay away if your presence is not being requested."

Cara was mad, she slammed the countertop, which made her hand hurt. "Ouch...."

"Well, looks like Karma is getting back on you?" Flint smirked and cheered with me.

She pouted and drank her alcohol. I looked at her as she drank it... and thought of something.

Why can't I like her?

I was like that before.

I was an asshole who doesn't care about my wife, family, or even reputation.

Argh, let's stop thinking about it for now.

Many things should be done other than this.

"Bro," Flint whispered. "Someone called you. It's a call from our dear friend, Kate."

George's POV

Midnight passed.

Everyone else is asleep, including Kate and her baby.

I wore my favorite nightgown as I walked around their house.

Yes, I stayed in their house because I couldn't sleep in my own house.

Especially because... from now on... I'll sleep without my kids.

What is this desire to come up with this plan?

I went inside Kate's room.

She was sleeping soundly, and my tears ran down my cheeks... when I heard the cry of her baby girl.

Her name is Kycerella. Kyce for short.

She's cute. I want her to be mine.

Out of the instinct of a mother, I carried Kyce and danced with her.

To attend to her needs is what I've been living for.

"Hey," Kate called. I looked at her like she was a threat. I didn't expect my feet to run away from her... with her baby. "GEORGE!" She shouted. But I ran until I reached their gate.

"I'll protect you at all costs, Kyce," I said while smiling and caressing her cheeks.

I run away from her.

Well, my feet naturally bring me to my home.

My home... where both of my children died.

Ouch... the pang of guilt.

Guilt because I wasn't able to save them from their deaths.

I wasn't a good mother, after all.

A good wife, maybe. But not a mom.

If so, then why did I even bring Kyce with me?

How could I protect her?

"George."

I didn't know who called.

But I didn't bother to look back, because I was at the edge of our terrace, still holding baby Kyce with me.

Funny thing is, she wasn't crying.

She was laughing, maybe thinking this was just a funny prank.

How blessed to be a baby.

"Stop!" I was about to jump because of shock when he helped me to fall on the side of the terrace, where he caught me with his bare hands.

"Harry," I called.

Cygnus took baby Kyce away from me, she was with my best friend, Kate.

"I'm sorry, Kate... I'm sorry."

I wept.

A pang of guilt again. When will it stop?

Harry hugged me. "It's okay."

"No, it's not!" I said. "Don't try to convince me."

He kissed me on the forehead and caressed my back. "It's not. But if it's you, it's fine. We're sorry we couldn't hear your silent cry."

He hugged me again, until I lost sight of my eyes, and passed out.

I wish, that when these eyes open, a rainbow will come.

-----

I woke up with someone on my bed.

My bed?

I'm in my bed?

"Don't get too surprised, you pulled me here when I was tucking you in." It was Harry. He was looking at nothingness, and not sat down while I was still lying down.

"Oh, I see. I guess you're one of my comfort zones," I said. "I guess you're the last protector I thought I would have. But don't you find it awkward? Though we're siblings---"

"We both know we're not."

"So, what are you trying to say?" I asked. My eyes were fiery, I could feel it. I can even feel his desire as he tries to escape from my gaze.

I sat down and caught his chin, for our eyes to meet the needs it's been shouting for days.

Sex.

"What if... just what if," I gulped. "We give in to it?"

In no time, he kissed me.

I felt the heat, those needing eyes had been shouting for my body to unite with him.

I know.

That's why he's not fond of Yul.

So what if this is considered cheating?

Yul cheated on me, so what if I did it too?

Let me taste the medicine he's been taking for so long.

Yul's POV.

Kate called me because she said George needed me.

George brought her daughter with her and was about to jump off the roof.

I was glad she was safe... until I saw with my own eyes who saved her.

That Harry... he was once my friend!

"It's okay, Bro. All that matters right now is she's safe, right?" Flint tried to comfort me.

Cara came too, but I told her not to come to my house. I know she'll follow 'cause I'll kick her for real.

"I know. It's all that matters." I turned around and wiped my cloudy eyes. "I guess she's safer without my help."

"What do you mean?" Cygnus asked. "Try to explain yourself!"

"What else is left to say if none of those words are unbelievable to her?" I looked a these worried eyes. "I'm fine. But please, keep her safe for me too."

Cygnus tried to stop me, but does it even matter? If the sole person I wanted to be with is pushing me away?

If my presence hurts her, I'll give in.

It's fine. As long as she's fine.

We went out.

"How did it go?" Cara asked.

I shook my head. "Nothing."

She sneered and smirked. Flint butted in, "Bitch, please, stop lurking around my car. Your foul smell is eating me up."

"Whatever! You have no choice, though. I'm already here."

"Cara," I called. "Get out of my life."

"W-What?"

I looked at her and caressed her cheeks. "Yes, I know you wanted me to see you. I saw you. You wanted me to touch you, I touched you. But I can't be with you for the rest of your life. I don't love you, and I don't want a kindhearted girl like you who hopes for nothing."

She shook her head. "N-No. I can still wait until you're ready."

"No, you can't. Let's stop this nonsense. I want you to stop." I looked at Flint. "Let's give her a ride." He nodded and started the engine. "From now on, I want you to stop and never come back. If you're hurt, hurt me. But not my wife. She's been through a tough time. I'll be the one who'll catch the upcoming pain for her."
