A gasp escaped my lips as I witnessed her transformation, my heart caught between disbelief and awe.
Cassidy's features shimmered with an otherworldly radiance, her eyes glowing with an inner fire. In that instant, she became something more than human. No, inhuman: a being touched by forces far beyond my own understanding.
I could feel the weight of destiny settling upon us, binding us together in a shared purpose. Elliot had unlocked a power that lay dormant within him, and Cassidy had become a vessel for something extraordinary.
I knelt before her, my heart pounding in my chest as I gazed upon her ethereal beauty. I had always been drawn to powerful beings, but nothing could have prepared him for the sheer luminescence that emanated from her. It was as if the gods themselves had sculpted her with unparalleled grace and allure.
She was a Luna, the one who could stand beside me as an Alpha. And in that moment, I knew that I had been smitten. Beside me, Elliot, also knelt, his eyes widening in wonder. “Wow,” he uttered breathlessly, the word escaping his lips in an almost reverent whisper.
“Wow.” I mirrored his expression.
I couldn't help but agree with him, both of us captivated by Cassidy’s presence.
But then, as if nature itself wished to test our bond, she began to shift. Her body transformed before my eyes, and before I could fully comprehend what was happening, she was no longer the goddess-like woman who had enthralled me. She had become a magnificent wolf, her fur glistening under the moonlight.
Without hesitation, she darted off into the forest, a flurry of grace and agility.
“Watch out, Cassidy!” I screamed at her. A grin forming on my lips now.
‘That’s my girl.’ I tried mind-linking her.
‘When did I become your girl?’ she countered, answering my mind-link.
A bark escaped on my lips, laughing. Elliot looked at me happily and patted my back. “It was successful. The ritual…” His delight became more evident. “Wow, I never imagined myself that I could do that!”
I nodded at Elliot. “Thanks, man. I owe you a lot. And I very well know you can do it—” I jerked my chin to Cassidy, “do this.”
I returned my gaze at Cassidy with a mixture of wonder and joy as she reveled in her newfound form, her happiness evident in every leap and bound. As a wolf, she seemed to be truly alive, unburdened by the constraints of her human existence.
No longer human. No longer the ‘little girl’ I once knew. No longer just the human Cassidy that tended me in my wolf form during a snowstorm.
It was during this transformative moment that I realized the depth of our connection. I approached her cautiously, my voice resonating through our minds.
“Try it again,” I smiled, encouraging her to explore this new form of communication.
‘I want to fuck you.’ Her words echoed inside my head, raw desire mingling with a sense of playfulness.
I was taken aback, my cheeks flushing with embarrassment. I badly want to, really. If only Elliot wasn’t here. “Damn, that's what you've been thinking in your head all this time?” I teased, unable to hide my bashfulness and stuttering.
“Shit.” Her thoughts are candidly laced with amusement. “Is there something I can do to turn it off?”
“Yes, though mind-link doesn’t exactly works like a light switch.” Grabbing her waist and pulling her into me, regaining my composure, I tilted my head down and whispered in her ears. “But it requires practice and control.”
I flick her hair on the side and kissed the space between her collarbone and jawline. “Do you want my help?”
“Of c-course,” she inhaled a sharp breath.
I smirk and smell her scent one more time. “Good choice.”
“As if I have other options.”
My brows furrowed. “Why? You plan to ask for assistance from my brother?!” A low growl escaped on my lips, and I felt her stiffened with my sudden question.
“No!” she replied firmly before looking up at me. “I only want you…” she whispered and traced my nose line with her forefinger… until it reached my lips. I swallowed hard and clenched my jaw. “I want you, only. I want only you.”
“Oh, really?” I arched my brow.
She smirked, “Now that I became a werewolf, you want me now?”
I laughed and fixed the strand of her hair. “The first time I laid my eyes on you, you’re the only woman I want, craved, fucked hard in my head,” I whispered at her. “Even though it hurts my pride knowing that I become a slave to my fear in the end...”
“Your fear of having a mate?”
“My fear of having a mate, which turns out to be you.”
She rolled her eyes and blushed.
Damn. Girl.
“How do we eat?” she inquired, a hint of curiosity in her mental voice.
“We hunt, obviously” I replied while my gaze was still boring at her beautiful face. “We consume the wild animals that roam these forests, sustaining ourselves as wolves.”
“Just like what the natural wolves do?”
I nodded, and watched her eyes widened with intrigue as she processed my words. The concept of hunting as a wolf was foreign to her, and yet there was a spark of excitement in her eyes. She had embraced her newfound identity as a werewolf and now she sought to understand every aspect of our existence.
Our intertwined existence.
“Can we do that now?” Anticipation brightened her expression.
I nodded once, a grin spreading across my lupine muzzle. Her enthusiasm was infectious, and I couldn't help but share in her excitement. She is now a werewolf, untamed and unrestricted. Wild. Free to explore the depths of her primal nature.
Grabbing her wrist gently but firmly, I led her into the depths of the dense woods that surrounded us.
The moon cast its ethereal glow upon the foliage, creating a mystical ambiance that heightened our senses. The familiar scents of pine and earth mingled with the unmistakable aroma of prey, signaling the presence of a hunt nearby.
We moved in perfect synchrony, our lithe bodies gliding through the underbrush with effortless grace. The rhythmic pattern of our paws on the forest floor echoed through the night, blending seamlessly with the symphony of nocturnal sounds that enveloped us.
With each step, I could feel her growing confidence. Her feral energy pulsating alongside mine.
And then, our moment arrived—a rustle in the undergrowth, a scent carried by the wind. We froze, our bodies coiled, muscles taut and ready to spring into action. The prey was near, and we were ready to unleash the primal fury that lay dormant within us.
‘Go!’ I mind-link at her.
And so she did.
