I absentmindedly walked to the store and then as usual Miss Van came over, chatting with me about something but my mind was all on Alex’s words that he just said to me and he apologized to me that was an utterly shocking thing.
I absentmindedly nodded my head when Miss Van asked for something, after that she squealed and hugged me with joy. I didn’t bother about it as I went back to my place and started working.
The work was hectic as usual, I spent half a day in the store organizing things and after that, I stood at the counter doing my duty.
When it was my time to leave, suddenly Miss Van called me back. I felt confused as I walked back to her, asking, “Yes, Miss Van what is it?”
“ Dear, I want to remind you of the time again, tomorrow at 8 in the evening we will leave..”
“Huh?”I looked at her blankly, and then she explained, “You just agreed to drive us all to the lake in the south to spend our reunion night.”
What? When did I agree? And What reunion night?
I was confused and looking at my face Miss Van shook her head and then explained to me calmly. Miss Vand and a few of her friends are going to meet after a long time and they are going to do a bonfire whole night but Miss Van has no one to drop her there so she asked me to drop her and now I am going to be her driver and have to spend a whole night in an unfamiliar place.
F**k, I have really put myself in this unnecessary trouble, such an idiot and that’s all because of that Moron Alex. I nodded my head at Miss Van, faking a smile so that she won’t know how frustrated I am at the moment. I then walked back to my home fuming in anger, It’s not that I have a problem spending a night with elder people, no, but it was scarier for me to leave this village.
It’s been two months since I have started living in this village and I have never left this village since then because I am afraid of those weird creatures coming after me and also that weird power that I don’t know from where has got into me.
Thankfully, since I have entered this village I have not experienced anything weird at all.
I am afraid that once I step outside this village something bad will happen to me and I am afraid that I will hurt someone again unknowingly.
I reached home, my mind was heavy from all my thoughts and there I bumped into someone that I would be least expecting, Alex.
F**k, what’s this moron’s problem?
“Are you ok?”He asked as he steady me.
“None of your business.”I snapped angrily and then entered my room slamming my door hard.
Thankfully, this night I didn’t hear any moans and slept peacefully. I really need a good sleep today and thankfully I got it.
At 7:30 pm I was at Miss Van’s home. The whole day in the store she looked excited and kept reminding me to reach her home at the time that I did.
She has a mustard yellow color cruck, and I liked it very much. She gave me a few things to keep at the back of it, like a tent, a folding chair, a table, a basket of fruits, and homemade delicious food. Wow, this outing isn’t going to be that bad, I think.
I sat in the driving seat, while she sat in the back of the car, she said she needed to sleep for an hour, and with me beside she wouldn't feel comfortable.
I shrugged at her words but then smiled lightly making her know that it was completely fine. She told me the lake name and I set the GPS for it because I am not really aware of the roads.
I started the car, it was a very long time since I drove a car, I actually wasn’t really allowed to drive a car as I was underage but Oliver had taught me nicely how to drive.
Remembering Oliver, my heartfelt a bit sad but deep inside I know that our separation is best for his future and I hope he will stop looking for me and move on with his life.
Miss Van’s snoring indicates that she has fallen asleep, I chuckled softly, this old woman is really unique and full of life. I was driving for an hour and then after driving for another hour, I reached the place where the GPS was set to.
It’s a beautiful lake surrounded by greenery. I turned and Miss Van was still asleep, I then stepped out of the car and walked near the lake, it’s so calm and the air was so fresh.
I inhaled the fresh air and stretched my arms and legs to relax. Just then I heard that familiar voice again calling my name, “Ella…”
I turned, no one was behind, then I looked around cautiously but the place was dark and quiet. I thought I must be dreaming or hallucinating as I decided to wash my face with the lake water.
I walked near the lake and then put my hands inside it to splash my face with the freshwater but I stopped when I saw something in the water. I moved the water from my hand and it showed a light, a light shadow with white light was blinking in it.
I thought someone was inside the water as I kept looking for it while moving my hand but then I stopped as I realized that it was not inside but beside me.
The water was showing the reflection of something beside me.
BOOM
I stopped panicking, and then very slowly tilted my head to the side, my heart was thumping wildly, in any second I felt like it would jump out from my chest. My breaths were getting hitched from the fear of some creature or a bad soul beside me.
What if they harm me? Or if I harm everyone here?
Panic started rising in my heart and I felt scared of myself more than any other thing.
As I looked at the thing that was shining beside me, the bright flashlights blinded me momentarily and then a voice of loud horn came that nearly made me fall heavily on the grass and I yelled in fear.
Just when I got my senses back and sat up nervously, I heard Miss Van’s unhappy voice, “Hey Moron Francis, you disturbed my sleep,” She was scolding a man from the window who has just parked his car beside us and was showing his all teeth while Miss Van was cursing him heavily.
In this all situation, I wasn’t shocked about anything more than hearing Miss Van’s cursing, oh God I never knew she had such a bad mouth.
I gasped in astonishment and completely forgot about the bright shadow that reflected in the water a few moments ago.
Soon, more cars joined us and there and I saw a group of seven people where 4 were old women and 3 old men. All looked happy and excited just like they all have escaped from the prison.
