Chapter Make it right

Keiran's POV

I inserted the key into the hole and clicked it backwards. The sound it made echoed in the apartment.

Opening the door, I saw Sky fast asleep on the bed right next to Umbrie.

Oh! They weren't even awake in the first place.

My imaginations were running so wild like I was in some movie.

I entered anyway leaving the door ajar. I stood next to the bed and watched them sleep like innocent angels.

It looked like Sky never yelled or played around creating chaos while Umbrie never glared, fought or make me feel ten times worse than I felt before.

I wish I could erase the memory of me being a burden to her. It will encourage her more to dump my selfish arse.

There was still an empty space at Umbrie's right hand side so I climbed on it despite the hesitations in my mind.

I was glad I could hold myself from falling but the moment I dropped my head on the pillow, her eyes flickered open startling me.

I flinched falling out of the bed and dropping my arse on the floor.

She sat up after rubbing her eyes like nothing happened.

"You are lucky you didn't get beside me or I would have kicked you so hard, you'll break your bones." She said staring at me.

The only thing I could recognize was a lot of hate towards me. Scorn and Spite.

It wasn't there before...

"I'm sorry. I just wanted to be near you." I muttered before getting up from the floor.

Sky stirred on the bed and she covered him gently with the blanket.

"Did you happen to call home? Have you spoken to anyone?" She questioned leaving the bed.

I remembered Damien and the things he said.

"No." I simply replied and a look of disappointment flashed on her face.

I'm still being inconsiderate, I know.

But there's no harm in staying here. Our next exam was in two days and I think it's enough time for us to make up before heading back.

"Do you know if they are done fighting?" She asked as tears gathered around her eyeballs.

"I guess." I shrugged sounding unbothered as possible.

"Louis told me that there was someone betraying us in the pack but I didn't pay attention to him. I feel so bad for not figuring it out. That attack was obviously fueled by that traitor. I can't believe I failed everyone —"

"You didn't fail anyone, Brie. Pull yourself together." I interrupted her and we made eye contact.

"It's not your fault. Damien should have seen this coming so let's blame him." I added.

"Stop trying to make me feel better. I am not like you who can easily hurt people or sacrifice them to save your own skin." She blunted out.

Not again.

"What if I told you that my mother mind linked me and asked me to leave with you guys." I said making an effort to remove her mind from that.

"I don't believe you. I'm making breakfast for me and Sky. I will only be making for you because it's your place and your food stuff. I don't care about you at all." She scoffed walking off to the kitchen.

I followed her out although I'm sure she doesn't want to see my face.

I leaned by the counter watching her cook and mix the ingredients. I never thought watching someone cook would be so heavenly. I think that now because I have been shot by a virus called love.

It's so disappointing that it had to be when she already despised me.

"When we get married and we become insanely rich, will you still be making breakfast for me?" I asked teasingly and she scoffed.

"I rather become a nun for the rest of my life than marry you. You are too different. I won't be able to handle you." She answered with sarcasm in her voice.

"Right now, it's not easy handling you either." I retorted.

She ignored me and continued working in silence. Sky sauntered out from his bedroom looking sleepy.

"What time is it?" He asked and I glanced at my wrist watch.

"It's eight in the morning, kiddo." I replied and he nodded.

"Come eat." Umbrie beckoned on him and he sat next to me on the stool.

We were all filled up from the food and I sat quietly with Sky on the couch wondering where Umbrie was. She came out a second later holding an empty shopping bag.

"I found these in the room. Do you have enough money to get Sky some clothes?" She asked worriedly and I nodded — happy to save the day again.

"Alright, let's go." She said leading the way.

At The Mall

Umbrie picked out two shirts and shorts each for Sky. I watched her put them in the cart and also grabbed toothbrushes and paste. I didn't even think of that.

"You can get something for yourself too." I replied and she declined by shaking her head.

"Stop being stubborn, please.." I pleaded spotting a couple of dresses in the next section.

"Fine but I will pay you back when we get back home." She agreed petulantly.

I chuckled. There's no way I'm accepting it because by then, you will forgive me.

"Alright, let's go." She said walking past me with just one dress in her hand.

Sky looked at me laughing.

I know, right?..

I brushed my face with my hand.

Going back to the section, I picked out one more dress and a top and a skirt. Perfect.

We headed to the counter and she sneered on seeing the clothes I was holding.

"You will end up wearing those, trust me. I'm not accepting them." She bluntly refused.

I ignored her and went ahead to pay for everything. After that, Umbrie took a break to go to the bathroom. We had to wait for her outside. After a long excruciating time of listening to Sky talk about what he did last summer, she finally stepped out.

We got other things including toys and books to read for Sky before heading home.

As we drove back to the apartment, Sky was already reading his book and I admired how much he loved reading.

"We will return back tomorrow, whether the attack is over or not." Umbrie said fisting her hands like she was prepared to argue.

"Okay." I simply replied and she looked at me shocked.
