Jared left the house towards evening and picked up Daphne from her house where she was waiting for him all dressed up. It seems she anticipated the date more than Jared. Though she was really pretty, Jared didn't expect he would be having anything to do with her because he liked his girlfriend Tiana. Tiana may also be a human, but not his mate.
Perhaps his attraction to human girls made the moon goddess give him a human mate. This means all his kids would be half human and half wolf. He shook his head off to get rid of those thoughts and focus on the present.
"Hi." Jared said coming towards her.
Daphne adjusted her crop top, "Uhh... Hi."
There was an awkward silence as they stared at each other seeing how good they both looked. Jared liked the fact that she dressed casually in Jean and crop top. There was more awkward silence before Jared said anything, he saw how shy she is.
"You look beautiful." He said with a smile.
"Thank you, you look very handsome too." She replied shyly.
"Let's go." He suggested and they left the house.
He took her to the movies after asking her where she wanted to go. Not a fan of watching movies but he did come because of Tiana once. They were going to watch a scary supernatural werewolf and vampires story. Daphne clutched his hand while they watched, Jared remained unmoved. He thought Daphne looks cute trying to get his protection, he let her bury her face in his chest.
Jared did liked the fact that the writers could write a bit about werewolves. Perhaps the writer is a werewolf or someone related to one.
"That was so scary but I liked the movie." Daphne said after they got out.
"Really? Why do you like the movie?" Jared teased.
"Well... There's so much suspense and action, I also loved the romance part. The love between a werewolf and human against all odds." Daphne answered oblivious of his teasing.
Jared chuckled, "You were so scared the whole time. Are you sure you even saw anything?"
Daphne pouted, "I saw it. I just couldn't look at the scary parts." She stopped in front of him forgetting her shyness. She was getting comfortable with him now than she thought she would. "How were you able to watch it without flinching at all. Everyone else thoughts it was scary and you just... You're amazing."
Jared smirked, "It's not as scary as you think. Werewolves are not so scary you know, the bad ones are the ones who make them scary. They can be sweet and romantic."
"You sound like you've seen a lot before..." Daphne asked serious.
Jared was caught off guard, he can't tell her anything until they're already dating and into each other.
"Well... I mean I've seen a lot of movies before. Those ones weren't this scary and tough." He replied quickly.
She laughed, "You look worried. Come on, I know it's just a movie. Besides, werewolves don't exist. They're just a fantasy."
Jared arched a brow not so surprised. It seems she doesn't know anything at all. If only she had an idea of the person in front of her and the one she calls her best friend.
"What if you happen to meet one? What will you do?" He asked curiously.
She thought for a while before answering, "It depends on how we meet and what the person's like. I wouldn't be so comfortable especially if I know they could eat me up. I might run away..." She laughed softly.
Jared nodded, he didn't want to say anything yet. Since she is a human, he expects her reaction to be like that.
"Where do you want to go next?" He asked her.
"I don't know, I have not really been to a proper date like this. But since I suggested the movies, why don't we go wherever you want us to." She suggested.
"Are you sure? My kind of place might be boring to you."
She smirked, "Now that you mention it, I wanna go there. Come on, let's go."
She pulled him away and they left for the place he was talking about.

"This is your definition of boring? This is so cool!" Daphne said excited entering the club with him.
Jared may not look like it, but he comes to the club very often with Tiana since he started dating her. He doesn't really talk about it, and no one knows.
"I didn't know you liked coming to places like this. Does Umbrie know you come to clubs? She complained that you're so grumpy sometimes that you may never even go to a club on your own free will unless you're forced." Daphne inquired jokingly.
Jared shrugged, "Umbrie and I is a case that can't be studied. She only says that because that's what she thinks."
Daphne looked around, "Let's go get some drinks and dance."
Before he could do anything, she pulled him away. He just succumbed to her wishes. He was starting to really like how fun and cute she is.
They had a fun time at the club and made sure not to get drunk. He dropped her off at home and they promised to hang out more from today. Jared decided to visit Tiana after having so many missed calls from her. He stopped in front of her house and asked her meet him downstairs.
Tiana runs towards him with a smile and hugged him.
"What happened? I was so worried, I called you so many times but you did not pick up." She inquired showing worry.
Jared sighed, "You don't have to be worried about me. You should worry about yourself."
"Myself? What do you mean myself?" She asked again confused.
"We need to talk seriously Tiana. It's very important, our relationship and everything."
"What's wrong? You sound upset."
"I went on a date today, with someone else..."
Her eyes widened, "You went on a date?"
"She is my mate. I know you're not like me but I did tell you this right from the beginning. She is my mate and I'll eventually have to stop. We could only have continued if I didn't find her." He explained.
"Does this mean... It's the end for us now?" She was sad, deep inside she knew she would have no chance. He never confessed love to her but they enjoyed dating each other as they liked each other.
"We can still be friends. I'm sorry Tiana, I really like you and I expect you to understand why I'm doing this. I have responsibilities to take and I can't go against myself." Jared tried to explain so it won't look bad.
She nodded with a fake smile, "I understand Jared. You've been a wonderful boyfriend, she's so lucky. I wish I was the one but..." She shrugged, "Guess I'm not that lucky. All the same, I am very happy you found your mate. It may not be easy for me but I'll try to understand."
"Thank you Tiana, I also wish you find someone better soon enough. I'm really sorry again, I didn't mean to. Please forgive me." Jared pleaded.
He felt so bad doing that, he knows Tiana would be very sad. He plans not to stay far away from her until she recovers from this. If the moon goddess could just make all this pain go away at once, he wished.
"I'll be going inside now. It's quite late and you should go back. Try picking up whenever I call you or I'll come looking for you." She joked.
He pulled her into a hug, "I will. I'm sorry."
She pulled away gently, "Stop apologizing. Go home now, it's so late. Even if you're powerful, it's still dangerous."
"Goodnight Tiana." He waved at her before leaving.
Tiana watched him leave before letting the tear in her eyes fall. She could not take it, but pretended to be strong. She kept praying he would never see his mate and leave her, guess she's not that lucky anymore.
"I don't think I can do this Jared. We can't end it like this, I won't let you do this to me. I have to do something. I have to stop them from being together." She stomped her feet and ran inside.

Jared got back home very late. He did not expect to meet his mother and sister waiting for him as he entered the house.
"Welcome back son. We need to talk." Mrs Wynn welcomed him with a heated look, he began to wonder what he did wrong this time.
"What's wrong mom?" He looked over to Umbrie, "What did she tell you?"
"Did you do something wrong? Why do you look so scared?" Mrs Wynn asked him.
"Nothing mom, what do you want to talk about?"
Mrs Wynn nodded, "How are we going to plan your wedding now that you've found your mate?"
Umbrie and Jared shouted, "WHAT? MOM!!!"
