It's been over a week now, Jared and Daphne have gotten so used to each other. They go out together, call each other and eat together. It's quite obvious the mate bond is there, they're too attached to each other now. They both know what the other one wants, they are not hiding their feelings anymore.
Jared invited Daphne home by himself for the first time. He planned to finally ask her to be his girlfriend. Then he'll tell her what she needs to know about him later. He invited her to his own apartment which he rarely uses unless he wanted to be with Tiana. He got that so he could have privacy with her, his family hardly knows.
It's not that much of a big expensive apartment but it is comfy and affordable for him. He planned to get a much bigger place if he gets married. He was so hopeful about finding his mate for years and now he did. He waited for a few hours till she came at the appointed time, some minutes late. He quickly rushed to open the door.
He stopped mesmerized by the beauty of his mate standing in front of him. He felt strange, something he doesn't want to happen as he tried to control himself. Now it seems he's unable to do so, she's too beautiful in the short dress she is wearing.
"I'm so sorry I came late. I don't know, I was doing some work at home before rushing over." She apologized but he can't take his eyes off her body.
Daphne noticed Jared kept gazing at her without saying a word, he seems to be lost in his own world. Her plan was to make him speechless when he saw her and it worked.
"Are you even listening?" She said again to get his attention.
"Umm... Sorry, come in." He said quickly, feeling a bit embarrassed that she might think he's a jerk for looking at her like that. He made way for her to enter.
She smiled, "You seem to be lost in your own world, mind telling me what you were thinking about?"
"Nothing really.... You're just beautiful." He complimented not knowing what else to say.
Daphne decided to relax, she was alone with him in the house and they could do whatever they wanted.
"Aren't we hanging out in your room?" She asked him.
"You want us to hang out in my room? Won't you be uncomfortable?" He replied with questions.
She shook her head, "Are you going to eat me?"
He chuckled at her joke, "No... I mean not that way."
"It's a joke. I mean we are all alone in this apartment, you've got a nice place by the way. I thought you lived with your parents, does your sister know about this place? She never talks about it with me." She said flopping down the couch.
"Well... She doesn't, I only wanted to bring you here so you don't feel uncomfortable staying there." He explained.
Jared thought about getting back to his apartment now that he found his mate. It wouldn't be right to invite her over to his parent's house everytime. And the fact that he has two annoying little siblings could make it worse.
"You're so sweet." She said, looking around the house to avoid his gaze.
It felt awkward, but she wanted something to happen so she got nervous. He's so attractive that he can make any woman fall for him, she felt lucky he was interested in her. At least, he has been able to prove that for the past week.
"What are you doing? Sit down with me." She brought him back from his thoughts again.
He mentally slapped himself, 'Control yourself you idiot'
"I'll go get some drinks and put the movie you wanted to watch over the weekend." He said and walked to get some drinks from the counter.
Then he opened them for himself and her. He put the romantic comedy Daphne had always wanted to watch with him. He got that from the store after inviting her so she doesn't feel bored.
"You're so considerate Jared... Thanks." She appreciated him.
There was a weird silence as they watched the movie, they both didn't say anything as they both have things running through their minds. Jared's mission of inviting her over was to get her to become his girlfriend. After a while of deliberating whether to tell her or not, he decided to.
"Daphne... I think it's time I asked you this." He finally said.
"What is it?" She asked confused.
"Do you have a boyfriend?"
She sighed, "Yes, I do."
His face went blank on hearing that. She is his mate but she has another boyfriend? She has been hanging out with him all this while only for them to end up with nothing? Why did she lead him on in the first place? Umbrie never talked about her having a boyfriend...
"You're not even going to ask who it is?" She asked him, seeing how pissed he already is.
"Is it someone I know?" She nodded, "Who is it?"
Jared already pictures himself telling whoever it is to stay away from Daphne since she is his. It took him so long to find her, he won't let her go be with just any man.
Daphne moved closer to his ear and whispered, "You."
He froze on hearing that, he looked at her confused. He pointed to himself, "Me?" She nodded giving him assurance.
His lips curved into a smile, "You were playing with me when you said you had a boyfriend. I was scared for a moment, I did not think you'll be in a relationship with someone."
"Well I'm in one with you now, you should know that." She shrugged.
Daphne also planned to take the first step since she is very blunt. She has always loved him since the first time she saw him in school. It's been long but they never got to meet or talk before, he hardly has time to look at anyone.
"If you're my girlfriend, then it means I can..."
She cuts him off by pecking his lips to make him understand how serious she is. Jared is shocked once again, he doesn't think she is a pushover but she's daring and cute.
He pulled her closer and brought his lips on hers. It felt like they were being shocked by a strong force. They could not stop, he deepened the kiss letting out all his feelings. She wrapped her hands on his neck, leaning on him.
Jared stopped and pulled away after a short while. He quickly gulped down his drink, while she kept giving him a heated look.
"What's wrong? You just pulled away suddenly. You don't like it?" She asked worried that she might have messed up.
"No, it's not you... I just thought I should stop there. It's our first time and I don't want to mess things up." He explained seeing how worried she is.
Daphne pulled him towards herself again, "I know what you're talking about and I'm willing to give in to you... I wanted my first time to be with someone I really loved. Even though we just started, I don't care giving it to you."
Jared is shook again. "You're a virgin?" She nodded, "Oh... I shouldn't do this then. Let's just..."
She kissed his neck, then playfully bit his earlobe a little. "Who asked you to control? I came prepared." She whispered.
He lost control of himself, he pulled her back into a harsh kiss. She reciprocated and it got very heated, they proceeded to the bedroom where they slowly took off their clothes. Daphne was left in her underwear, Jared could not take his eyes off her.
"You're so damn beautiful." He complimented, his eyes dark and filled with passion.
She smiled shyly, knowing that his eyes and hands are now roaming her body. She has never let anyone do this with her before, so she still feels shy. She is only comfortable doing this because she feels safe with him and she is very much attracted to him.
