CHAPTER 57. HOW TO TALK TO HER
RYDER
It was another radiant day that brought with it my overpowering duties as an Alpha-Prince.
I was seated at the round table, having a rather confidential meeting with my war Lords.
They'd come up with a plan to build an estate for the thousands of people displaced by the flood. It was a surreal idea and captivated me instantly.
We all dived headlong into coming up with the plans, arrangements, and techniques the building would be needing. It wasn't gonna be easy but we were determined. The people need it. And I'm willing to do anything for my people.
”Have Tiffany put the word out about this project. We'll be needing a lot of good investors for this,“ I said to Darius, scanning through the draft of the estimated cost for the project.
I merely glanced up and back to the paper but then I was forced to look up again and I was stuck staring. The door to the meeting room had been left ajar, all thanks to Jay. And through it, I was getting a better view of Hara striding through the hallway with her aides.
When she got to the door, I almost jerked to my feet but I halted in the air when she walked past the door, giving me a glacial stare. I plumped back on my seat feeling dejected and rubbing at my throbbing temple.
This was not how I pictured this morning to be. I thought it would be a lot more exciting, judging from the fact that we finally fucked. But it all went south yesterday, right after I pulled my dick out of her.
I still don't understand what went wrong, but she stopped talking to me. We stayed inside all through yesterday, but she barely said a word to me. She curled up at the extreme of her bed and had her back on me all through my stay in her room.
She didn't even spare me a glance, she won't let me touch her again, my dick was hard as a rod but I had to keep it in check. We didn't cuddle like lovers do, she didn't respond to anything I said. We turned strangers right after getting fucking intimate and I still don't understand that twist.
The only thing I knew was that she was whispering from a possible soreness in her pussy, and was muttering cusses under her breath. I guess I went way too hard while thrusting into her.
I spent all day wondering just what I did wrong that she had to give me the silent treatment. If I'd heard correctly, she'd been the one who asked me to go harder on her. She demanded a hardcore fuck and I indulged her.
I was fighting to keep my wolf from breaking free and marking her. Same time, I was fighting to keep my overly dominant side in check.
It wasn't easy for me and she requested that I shouldn't hold back, so I plunged into her as hard as I was dying to. But maybe I went a little bit far and now she's mad at me.
She stayed in her room throughout yesterday. I woke up in my room this morning and went to check on her but she was still asleep. Now, she was awake and all dolled-up, styled her hair and did her make-up. And now, I'm ogling at her like some perv, spellbound and desperate to get back on her good books.
What we had yesterday can't be the end for us. She has a sweet pussy and even a decade spent fucking her all day won't make me get enough of it. I'm insatiable when it comes to Hara.
Darius' fingers flicking on my face snapped me out of my thoughts with a sigh. They were all watching me with curious eyes. It seems they'd been talking for a while and I didn't even hear a thing they said.
“Ryder,“ He repeatedly called my name.
”I'm sorry, man. I seem to always tune out in meetings,“ I said.
“Nah. You don't have to apologize for that. You are a man with a lot of responsibilities and it's gonna be weird if you don't tune out sometimes,“ Darius countered.
I covered my face with my hands, letting out deep sighs. I was fucking exhausted and my issue with Hara was adding to it.
“Uh, I guess the two of you need to talk alone. We'll just leave,” Jay said, nudging Giveon to his feet.
“I'm sorry, guys. I didn't mean for this meeting to end like this,” I said to them. They'd been the ones that demanded this meeting and also came up with this building project, and now having to put the meeting to an abrupt stop like this was making me feel kinda guilty.
“We understand, Ryder–” Giveon said but got cut off as he turned to the exit. ”Look, it's Hara!“ He shouted, pointing to the hallway.
My head shoots up again and I'm back to staring sheepishly at her as she makes another stroll past the hallway. This time, she didn't even spare me a glance, not even a cold, glacial glance. I whizzed at the pain of being ignored. It burnt my insides to ashes.
After she walked past the room, the guys turned to me in confusion. Jay was the first to voice out his confusion.
“Wtf, She didn't even say Hi to you,“ Jay stated. His tone was judgemental and I hated it.
”Does she have to?“ I defended, giving him a stern look. Although he was right and I felt the pain from her ignoring me. And Jay didn't mean it rudely, but he had no right to call her out for what she did, not even for my sake.
“I guess she doesn't have to,“ He retracted his words, gave me a curt bow, and left with Giveon, who seemed itchy to ssh something but didn't.
I let out a loud puff, leaning back on my seat as they left.
“What happened between you and Hara?” Darius asked. ”I know you two are yet to develop a solid bond, but that doesn't seem like the reason why she just ignored you a while ago. What happened?”
I was reluctant to give him a reply. Whatever going on between Hara and I was a personal matter and disclosing it to him doesn't feel right. Doesn't feel as right as it would have felt with Jason.
“It's personal,“ I replied blandly, not willing to divulge what happened to him.
He nodded, ”It's cool if you can't tell me. I know you still find it hard to talk to me as freely as you did with Jason. But I know with time, we'll learn to completely trust each other,”
”I'm sorry. It's just not been easy for me. I trusted Jason and he gave me a hard blow of betrayal. It's so fucking hard to open up to anyone now. Don't take it personally,“
”I understand, bro. I don't fault you for anything at all. And whatever going on between you and Hara can be fixed over a good talk. Avoiding each other would only make matters worse.” He said and stood to his feet, packed up the files he'd been working on, and left the room.
I picked up the building blueprint to go through it but I got lost in thought, trying to figure out how to talk to Hara.
