Louisa's p.o.v;
I came to investigate a missing person named Levi Ackerman. He is from this town, but doesn’t live there as he does in the city and was last spotted here near where his house should be.
The police had found him two days ago when a neighbour reported seeing him on a road at night. We were alerted about his disappearance due to the fact that the victim' father has been having an affair with one of the women. It was discovered that she had been murdered shortly after by a man.
When i did an investigation about the woman, i came to know that she's the woman i saw yesterday being dead and got stabbed a number of times. I didn't have enough time to investigate further because I just had another case. But the more information I gathered, the more convinced I became that something strange is going on here. It seems like people are disappearing all around us.
I got a call from Raphael that there's a murder in 4th square. When I got there, the crime scene investigators didn't let me in, telling me to stay away. Apparently, the guy's name was Levi Ackerman and everyone thought he died by some serial killer.
I made a call to Raphael and informed that the guy I was searching for was found dead. After hearing the news, he said that he will send someone down to bring me in. I waited outside and looked around the crime scene. There was lots of blood spatter. It seemed like there was some kind of struggle.
When Raphael reached, I said, "I think I got a skeletal explanation overall. Levi Ackerman and Elizabeth was having a affair so when Elizabeth husband came to know this, he murdered his wife out of Revenge resulting in number of stabs and killed Levi Ackerman as well. I think we are looking for the same murderer, Elizabeth husband."
Raphael, "Shit!"
"What is it, Raphael?"
"He said he was taking his kids back to his parents house. I need to go."
I held his hand and said, "There's another victim still loose."
"Who?"
"Levi's father. He was the one who had an affair with her; later it was his son. I think Elizabeth's husband will come for him."
"Then, I'll put someone to keep an eye on him while we watch Levi's father."
I nodded and we two headed to Levi's father's home. As we drove, we both kept on thinking about what to do next. I felt like we already solved half of the crimes happening around us.
When we arrived at the address, I knocked on the door to the large house. A woman appeared almost immediately and answered the door. She greeted us with a small polite smile. Raphael asked about Levi's father. After she said he's inside, we walked into the house. It smelled really strongly like cigarettes and alcohol.
After a few minutes of waiting, Levi's father showed up. We explained the situation and he cried after hearing about his son's death. Raphael offered to look after him and the man agreed. I told him not to worry because we would be there to help. After saying goodbye, we left Levi's father's house. As I drove, my mind wandered around the case.
"Do you want some tea?" Raphael said.
"Sure," I replied.
We went to his place. As we entered his room, he turned on the lights. My eyes widened at the amount of stuff on the walls. It was all black or grey, but there were some photos pinned up. All of them were very blurry.
In the centre was a photo with a young woman with red hair smiling widely. On either side of the picture, there were more frames of different angles. They were of a blonde and brunette boy. Next to the red haired girl was a girl with long, dark brown hair. Her arm was around the boy's shoulders. Next to them was the redhead holding onto a boy around the age of six. He wore glasses on top of his head, his hair was tied up in a ponytail. There were even a few shots of a toddler and a little boy who had his mother's curly hair and freckles. Then I came across one with the family laughing and standing right in front of the beach house. "Is this your family?"
He walked to me while holding a cup of tea in his hand and looked at the picture I pointed and said, "Yeah."
I showed him the girls and boys group picture and asked, "Are these your friends?"
he let out a soft chuckle and said, "That's my cousin."
"Looks like you have a very big family."
"yeah."
After finishing the drink I said, "I can't believe the father and son had an affair with the same woman who was already married with two children. The more cases we investigate, the more it makes us lose interest in relationships."
"I know right? I'm getting impatient about the lack of progress though."
We talked about the other murders, which had no apparent connection until i got call from Arthur. It's been a long time since I've met and talked to him too. I stood up and said, "I gotta leave."
"Where?"
"I'll tell you later." and walked out of Raphael's house.
I came to the casino and looked for him. I couldn't find him anywhere. I took my phone and made a call to him. I heard his phone ringing nearby. I walked among the crowd with the help of the ringtone. When I found the phone, it was with someone whom I met a few times when I came to the casino back then.
I asked him, "Where's Arthur?"
"Somewhere around here." He stood up from his seat and walked to me while saying, "I need Half a million reais now. Go play and win it for me."
"What?"
"Otherwise Arthur will be dead."
"Do you know who you're speaking to?"
"I don't want to know your status, I want money. If you want him to go free, then bring the money."
"I won't. why should I give money to you?"
"Don't you want him to live? Do you want him to die?"
"Of course not."
"Then do as I say."
I took out my gun and pointed at him saying, "Do you see what I'm holding in my hand right now?"
"You're making a mistake."
"Get him here right now."
After a few minutes, Some guys brought Arthur being tied up and stood while holding him.
"Let him go."
"You don't know what you're doing right now."
While Arthur was walking to me, that guy pushed Arthur down. When I tried to lift him up, the guards surrounded me and took my gun out of my hand. I fought with him and tried to get the gun from him but his guys held me before that.
"You're not leaving anywhere."
Suddenly, someone shot a gun and the crowd parted into two halves and I saw Raphael walking through it holding a gun. I stared at him in shock while trying to figure out how the hell he was here.
"I guess I am a little late." Raphael said calmly looking at my guards with a smirk. His gun was still pointed at that guy. I took Arthur and walked out of the place.
I asked Arthur, "Why did they hold you?"
"I lost the money," he replied. I was dumbfounded.
He said again, "But you wouldn't believe me if I told you, right?
"Hereafter don't hesitate to make a call."
I called Raphael and said, "How come you never gave me any warning?"
"Well, I followed you. you should have known. You're supposed to be my partner."
"No, you're not."
"Oh yeah?" he asked mockingly.
"You're supposed to be following the lead and helping the chief to solve the case."
He replied, "If i wasn't following your leads, i wouldn't have followed you and helped you from that guy's gunpoint."
"Anyways thanks."
Raphael got a call from the station so did i. When I answered, Elisa talked on the Phone, "There's chaos in the police station. hurry up to the station quickly." and the call ended abruptly.
Raphael, "Let's go to the station."
I nodded and we two headed to the police station.
Raphael and I came to the station, but we couldn't enter since it was filled with people.
I asked Raphael, "Who are these people and what are they doing here?"
"That's for me to know, and you to find out," he responded.
We walked around the police station and finally saw a door at the end of one of the aisles, so we went that way. We stopped when we reached the other side of the aisle. "Raph, why is this door locked?" I questioned.
"Maybe to keep those guys away from this door. Hold on, I'll call Eduardo."
"Is he inside?"
"Yeah, he's the one who called me."
After he made the call, the door was opened and Eduardo asked us to hurry up inside the building. After we got in, I could see only Elisa, Eduardo and Gabriel.
I asked, "What's happening here? Why are they attacking the police station?"
"Those people are from Pandora gang. They're saying that we didn't find the killer on purpose and are attacking us."
"Where's the chief?"
Elisa answered, "He's out of town. He went to investigate a case."
Raphael, "Are they really from Pandora or the phantom gang is trying to play for them?"
"It's Pandora for sure. They have their gang's tattoo on his wrist." Eduardo answered them.
I said, "I'll talk to them."
Raphael held my hand and said, "What the hell are you saying?"
"They attacked the station earlier and there were cops around. I don't want those idiots to hurt anyone else. I can handle myself just fine but, if anything happens to Elisa or Gabriel I promise that I will help you get justice for them."
Elisa, "Stop talking like an idiot!"
Eduardo, "I won't allow you to go. Does they look like they're waiting to have a tea time with you?"
Raphael, "She is right. Someone has to talk and she isn't going. This is my job, I'll go talk with them."
A phone call came. Elisa answered it and told us, "There's a mass murders in the eleventh Avenue. We need all the police to be at that location ASAP."
The others agreed that Raphael and Eduardo should head over to the scene.
Raphael, "Let me know whatever happens here."
I nodded and said, "Elisa and I'll take care of it. you go with Eduardo and see what's happening there."
After Raphael and Eduardo left through the back door, Elisa and I guarded the front door holding a gun. After seeing the people, I asked, "Do you think we two can handle them?"
"We have to." and she gripped on her firearm more. While we're looking at the front door, we heard noises from the back door like someone was trying to break into the police station.
Elisa, "You take the front. I'll go take a look at the back door." and left me alone.
Suddenly, the guys who were struggling to get inside the police station started throwing stones at the door and the window which made it shatter into pieces. They broke the door and came through it, I started shooting at their legs to stop them from entering. When the bullets got over, I ran to the nearby cabin and took out the bullet. Before that so many came in and started breaking the things in the police station like desk, chair, noticeboard, lights and everything.
I aimed at them to shoot but suddenly someone pulled me into a document room. When I struggled to get out of the grip, he whispered, "It's me, Ace."
I quickly hugged him while saying, "I was scared."
He caressed my hair and said, "It's okay to get scared but don't show your weakness to them to gain control over you."
I broke the hug and asked, "Like you?" I let out a little smile and asked, "What are you doing here?"
"I came to see you."
"What if someone sees you? Everyone in the station thinks that you're the one who killed Paulo and is trying to locate you after you're missing."
"I did kill him though."
"Shhhhh... why are you saying it aloud? What if someone hears you? this is not a safe place for you. get out of here before someone else shows up."
"I came to talk with you."
"What is it?"
"I'm leaving Brazil tomorrow. Come with me. let's leave together."
"What?"
"I thought about it a lot. We can't live here together. it's impossible for both of us. That's why I planned to take you with me to the USA. Let's move there and start our life. a new one."
While he was talking to me, I heard a gun firing outside.
I said, "Looks like they're back."
"Then I'll leave. don't forget. tomorrow. Kl airport, 3pm. I'll be waiting for you." and he left.
When I came out, I saw Raphael, Eduardo and Elisa firing at the people who barged into the police station and those people were leaving.
Raphael, "Where were you? Did you get hurt anywhere?"
"Weren't you on the way to the crime scene? how did you come here?"
"I got a call from Elisa. so we rushed in."
After a while, everyone left and the police station looked a mess.
