On arriving the city Veronica saw that the team had gathered to welcome her. Sarah and her husband Emeka were also there and they were happy that finally she had to come.
"You are so much welcome and I must say that your coming here has already lifted our hearts and has made us have hope in what we had already lost our hopes in. You are so much welcome" This was Emeka, Sarah's wife speaking and all Veronica could do was smile at them. She was happy that she had been regarded by the company but she was still unable to understand why Ken was insisting that she must be the one who goes out there for Mr Charles. She walked with him and Rose and the Emeka and his wife into the office of Ken and they all sat down. Ken then stood up and began to write on the white board before them and when he had given them the plan he turned to Veronica and said, "Here is how your journey is going to be like. You will enter there and because that's the end of how much we could track him and then you go from there on your own, tracking him"

That same day but in the evening Veronica who had been given access to her house entered and looked around. The memory of how Edu entered her house the year before entered her mind and she sat down. It was after she had sat down that she began to ask herself alot of questions.
"What am I doing here, what am I doing back in this rotten city, what am I doing, what has brought me to this place, what has made me so blind again to the fault I once i beheld in these people, in this city?" She wondered. She folded both hands and kept thinking aloud. "Does it mean I have been enchanted? If not how come all I do is do the things I have decided not to do?" She shrugged and stood up, walking towards the kitchen, "Does it mean I have gone blind and crazy or has someone bewitched me already?" She entered the kitchen and sat down, it was dusty and she saw it on her butt. She hissed before she heard a knock at the door. She did not say a word for she already knew who it was. She walked briskly to the living room and then headed to the door to get it. She opened it and it was Ken standing there with Rose. She allowed them inside without saying a word to them. They entered with Rose carrying a large black back with pockets all around it. She and Ken were putting on black satin dress. When she lowered it down she sat down and Ken did same. Veronica greeted them and walked up to the bag they had dropped and on opening it she saw that it was her equipments, the tools she would be needing for her journey. She glared inside the bag for a while before she looked up at Ken.
"Is everything infact the way that they should be?" asked Ken and she nodded but cleared her throat.
"You know that I have never been to this kind of trip before and so I am wondering if it is advisable for me to carry these things or is not better If our connect is alerted so they could get these things for me when I cross to the other side of the city?" asked Vero.
"No, we tend to keep your movements a secret for now. There are many who want to have boss killed and they would do anything humanly possible to see that done. We tend to keep this mission a secret and that is why we trusted you to go for us. When you find boss the order is to bring him back home safely. You may not need to take permission from him before you do that because he is a stubborn man. Here is the thing then; when you take these you will be able to find him and then do what you are supposed to do" Rose and Ken left that night and the next morning Veronica was embarked on her mission.

"These ones don't die" This was from Mr Charles who had been arrested by the cannibals that saw them in the forest while they were hunting for the humans. While Charles was still standing over there with Shanty and Jude still tied to the trees they had begun to hear the sound of people moving in the forest and when Charles felt that this could be an ambush he drew his gun and Jude said, "Is it not better if you untie us so we could protect ourselves as well from whatever that is coming to us?" Mr Charles pretended he did not hear that. They were still like that when suddenly Charles began to see the cannibals as they were walking down towards them with their swords.
"I think there is something more here. These ones don't look like the Chief and his people..These ones look dangerous and dirty" said Shanty.
"Yes, more reason we need to make sure that we stick to the plan. We need to ensure that..." It was Jude speaking when an arrow flew and hit on the tree he was tied to, it hit above his head and he wondered if he would have been a dead man if the arrow had missed it's target. Jude then knew they were in for something huge. Shanty screamed and at that moment some men started running towards them. On seeing this Charles knew they were in for something and he picked two of his handy guns, each in both hands and began to fire at the strangers but to his utmost shock the strangers were immune to gunshots. They would fall down after they had received the bullet only to stand up shortly and continue to go for their prey. It was at that point that Charles realised they were in a serious danger. It was also when he saw that the enemy were numerous in number that he dropped both guns on the ground and raised up his hands. The enemy surrounded them and their leader stepped forward to stand before them. He walked towards Jude and Shanty and went round them, seeing they were bound to the tree. He turned to his people and raising his sword up shouted and then followed a thunderous response. He then turned to Charles and said, "We are familiar with your kind and so we are not surprised that you are here. The only thing we are surprised at is the fact that you were able to fire at us. Which means you haven't known us before now. If you had known us you wiudknf have fired at us, you would have known for sure that there was something about us. You would have not been here in the first place. But now that you and your friends have come it is only nice that I face you and subject you all to what we are good at" He then ordered his men to arrest them at once. Jude and Shanty were untied by the strangers and they also pushed Charles along with them and they headed towards the village of the strangers.
The Chief of the village where Shanty and Jude were nearly killed by the Chief the wife of the Chief who was inside the dungeon was crying when she was told that her husband the Chief wanted to see her. She was taken to meet with him in the throne room and when she was made to stand before him she said, "I am not worthy to stand before you my lord but the truth is that I love you and will always obey you"
"I did not have you brought to me here to listen to you but so that you listen to me instead and so you will pay attention to what I have to say now" Said the Chief and the wife waited to hear what he had to say. The Chief then continued, "It is obvious that nothing has been able to take us away from the very thing that matters the most. We must not allow anyone to get in-between us knowing that we are all we ve got. You are my wife, the last of them and the youngest of them all too. I would assume that you did not know before now what is expected of you and maybe if you knew you had acted ignorant of the consequences of your actions. You see, I did not ask them to bring you before me so that I can have you hanged or burnt for I have had to reason it and I have asked myself several questions and have come to the conclusion that killing you will not do me any good, having you hanged or burnt will not help me and so there is nothing I will gain from it. So here is the thing; I would want you to stick to what you know best and then give yourself up for learning and for correction. There will be enough for you to use in your learning. What this means is that I have decided to forgive you, I have decided to be kind to you, to see you for who you are, to take you for who you are and to also raise you for who you need to be. This is why you must be closer to the elderly wives so that they will teach you most of the things you will be needing to know. Now having said this I would not want to remind you that after your training you won't be getting his kind of pardon next time, you will need to know that despite the fact that I have so much to know there are many other things that need to be seen the way that they appear. So off you go" When the Chief had said this the youngest wife bowed before him and the eldest wife came forward and took hold of her and both of them went to her quarters.
Inside the chamber of the eldest wife she sat on her bed and asked the youngest wife to also sit and she did. She looked at her right into her eyes and asked, "I would like to ask you a question, should I go on?"
"You are my senior and you are the Queen. You have the right to ask me anything while my duty is to answer you" said the youngest wife. The first wife stared at her once again and then nodded before she asked, "I want to know and I would be expecting you to tell me nothing but the truth; why is it that you honor our husband so much?" she asked and the youngest wife hesitated before she answered, "He is our husband, he is our lord, the one that married us and he is also our Chief, the Chief of this village. We would not be respected as much as we are being respected now if we were not married to him. That is why" she answered and the eldest wife stood up and began to pace the room. For a while she stopped infront of her and looked at her directly in the eyes and asked, "Let me still ask you; if you were given the chance to still be as powerful as you are now, as honorable as you are now without having the chains of our husband round your neck would you take it?"
"I never knew my husband had a chain around my neck" the youngest wife said sarcastically.
"Don't joke here" the eldest wife warned and thought it wiser to make her understand better.
