Chapter 11

Sweat mixed with blood dripped down the priest's face as he panted with the whole surrounding of the church covered with smoke.

"Did I get all of them?"He wondered as he looked around and sighted someone approaching. There was one left.

"Bravo, what a performance."Lucian clapped as he neared him, with two bodyguards behind him.

"I really have to hand it to you, Father. Even an entire squad of marines wouldn't have managed to take them down, yet you managed to kill them using weapons. How impressive."

He turned towards one of the jackets on the floor and gave it a kick. "But not a single one of these guys thought about calling their boss before they died, huh?"

The priest suspected his henchmen hadn't told him about the trap that he'd set, so he decided to trick him into thinking the kids didn't make it.

"You bastard."The priest spat.

"Hmm?"

"You killed my kids."

Lucian turned to see a teddy bear caught up in the fire and he sighed. "You know father, I can see you put a lot of effort into this plan of yours, but you should have read up on us some more."

The priest's jaw dropped when Lucian started walking through the fire, with no scratch on his body as he picked up the burning bear.

"Can't you see how the flames aren't doing anything to me? Do you really think a tiny little fire like that can kill a pureblood?"

"What? He was not catching on fire?"The priest wondered.

"Fire won't work against me except someone throes me into a blast furnace."He sighed as he tossed the bear aside. "Well, I can just look for her myself later, but I can't believe you killed all of my guys with a flame thrower and a gun."

The priest cocked his gun and pointed it towards him, knowing fully well that he had to step up his game as he wouldn't be stop him with what he had.

He fired a shot and Lucian turned to look down at the hole in his suit. "Ugh, you've made a big hole in my suit. Don't you get it, father?"

He clicked the gun. "I know, this isn't enough to kill you."He replied. He was just going to hit him with the bullets he had left.

Lucian groaned as the priest continued to shoot at the same spot he'd made the first hit.

The dropped and clicked against each other as Lucian dropped to pant. With a mischievous grin, he slowly raised his head to look at the priest.

That should do the trick,he thought to himself.

"I can't believe your aim is so terrible. You didn't get a single shot on target."

He slowly rose to his feet and approached the priest who slowly backed away. "Why do you keep backing away. You're not the type to back away from a fight, father."

The priest collided with a bag and he turned to look at it before he turned back to Lucian. "Fine, what about this?"

Lucian's eyes widened as the priest took out a blasting rifle. "Darn."

"I've made a lot of holes already so it should have no problem blasting through you."

The priest blasted him before he could say a word and Lucian groaned in pains more than he did earlier, causing a lot of smoke to rise.

The smoke slowly died down and rivulets of sweat crawled down the priest's face and his hands trembled at the sight of Lucian before him, holding onto the end of the rifle. "Ouch, father. That hurts."

The priest swallowed hard and Lucian leapt and lurched towards him.

Zuriña honked as she drove her scooter past streets. Father Michael had never been that late before, she could only hope he was safe and sound.

She pulled to a halt a few metres from the church and was stunned to see it's disastrous state.

"Isn't that the church?" A woman asked.

"What on earth happened here?"

"Father!"She screamed as she headed for the burning church.

People complained about the narrowness of the road, due to the fire service trucks as she ran to the church and fire fighters tried to get everyone nearby to safety.

The scene that greeted her eyes on arrival, broke her heart. Father was lying on the ground, with a pillar over his lower body and raging fire around him.

"Father." She screamed and dashed towards him, hoping to save him in time but he raised a hand to stop her.

"Stop... you've...transformed... There are too many... people watching..." He mouthed and she covered her hair with her bag, wondering why she had to transform at that very moment. She had to be cursed.

"Hey, step back miss."One of the firefighters said as she tried to cover every part of her hair.

She felt herself returning back to normal and she turned to dash towards him when he screamed. "Stay back."

"Father." Tears welled up in her eyes.

"If you lift me off this now....your identity will be exposed."

"We won't be able to get in there."One of the firefighters said

"The flames aren't the biggest problem. We don't have the equipment to lift that pillar."

"Miss, you need to get out of here."Another firefighter said as he tried get her to safety.

"Someone's in there, please hurry."She cried

The fear of being unable to cope without Father sent a cold shiver down her spine. No, she couldn't, she couldn't imagine life without him.

"Take care of your brother and sister..."

"No, Father. No..."She shook her head.

"And make sure...you survive."

Tears crawled down her cheeks and the top part of the church crashed down.

"Father!"
