Chapter 54

Welcome to Rick town. She read silently as they drove past a sign post.

"He's a typical crazy loser. Anyway Mamon, twenty five years old." Kaiwan was saying as they drove side by side. "He started his pharmaceutical company when he was young. But after he became a vampire, cases against him won't just stop."

She turned her head to look at him."Cases?"

"Crimes against women, assault, sex issues, abduction, all of them are related to women... But the strange thing is the target isn't just any woman, but a woman with a lover.

And recently, the number of missing couples have been increasing and it's a sure thing that all the missing women in Mamon's hands are in great danger."

"We're almost at the factory, right?"

"Yeah, we'll be there soon."

But this was too bad. Why were all angels of death criminals?

They were both speechless on arriving the pharmaceutical company a couple of minutes later, and Zuriña turned to look at the detective.

"There's no way they can be here." She said, referring to the abandoned building with its' billboard, almost crashing.

"I'm certain my information is the updated version."

She heard a car nearing and Zuriña turned to see a lorry driving by.

"Detective, we can get something from those people."

"Riña..."

She was running over to them the next minute. "Excuse me..." She called, flagging down the car.

"Can you please spare us some of your time?" She asked and they pulled up close to her.

"Hi." She smiled as she walked over to them. "We're looking for the factory of Karrot pharmaceutical factory. We came according to the address but we couldn't find it. By any chance, do you know anything about it?"

One of the girls shook her head. "Sorry, we're just this neighborhood drivers..."

"But you...was it the live broadcast...I think I've seen you before." The other one said.

Oh no, since she'd changed her hair, she'd thought people wouldn't recognize her.

"Now that I think about it, you look somewhat familiar...And your eyes looks like that of a vampire." She said and turned to her colleague. "Are there vampires with blue eyes?"

This wasn't good.

What was she going to do?

A palm covered her eyes and she wanted to attack when she heard Kaiwan's voice.

"Honey, you're here. Are you done asking? I waited long in the car. I came after you because I think no one lives around here and it looks kinda creepy too."

The girls turned to them, blush zooming up their cheeks, due to their sweet display.

"Hi girls...Seems like you're delivering around here. Must be hard, right?"

Zuriña peeped through his fingers."Not really."

"Don't you think you're not fitting for this job?" He asked.

"What are you talking about?" One of them asked and he took his palm off her face.

"I mean, look at your brightly painted nails and I wonder why you're carrying so much to an empty neighborhood...Am I wrong? There's no use pretending not to know who we are, there's no mixed blood who doesn't know who we are, nowadays."

One of the girls hissed. "Damn, we were planning to pass quietly. But it seems we can't do that now, right?"

"Kill them." The other ordered.

Zuriña angrily yanked off the door of the van, scaring the girls before she got into the van.

"Try saying that again...Who's going to kill who?" She asked.

The girls yelped and Zuriña ran her claws through the body of one of the girls as Kaiwan went to check out the back.

"Don't kill me." The other pleaded.

"Are you kidding me?"

"Zuriña, wait a sec." Kaiwan said and she peeked out her head to take a look.

"What's wrong?"

"What's this smell?" He asked and her nose caught the smell almost immediately. It was a terrible one. It wasn't the smell of blood, neither was it the smell of pills.

She reached out to grab the other girl and swung her out of the van. She raced over to grab her by the collar before she recovered and dragged her to the back.

Kaiwan took out the keys from her pocket and opened the back door. The scene that greeted their eyes.

"Oh my God."

The stench was coming from the gagged couples, all in their underwears, tied up and hurled at the back and Kaiwan turned to the driver in disbelief.

There was a tape at the entrance of the van and Kaiwan and Zuriña had the driver bound before they started releasing the couples.

"What happened?" Zuriña asked a lady nearby after taking off her gag.

"All these people are couples including myself. My boyfriend and I were on a date and when we got to our senses, we were already in this state."

"I see."

The lady took Zuriña's hands in hers."Please, I don't know who they are but please help us capture them."

"We'll do our best." She said and rose over to the detective, who just dropped a call.

"I've talked to all of them. Besides the fact they're all couples, there's nothing else in common."

He shook his head as he scrolled through his phone. "No, there's one thing... Social media."

"They found each couple through media hashtags?" She asked as she peered down at his phone.

"Yeah. And then they tracked down their location through apps to reach them, giving them the pills so they won't resist, before kidnapping them."

She was awed. "How did you figure it out?"

He shrugged. "It's nothing. But this isn't enough to catch Mamon." He turned.

"Do you think we can get anything from her?" She asked as she turned to the driver.

"Don't worry. At the age of twenty eight, I earned the badge of senior inspector, although I had to survive through difficult times and jealousy from others. So the reason I can survive such draining situation is because...should I say, thanks to my amazing brain and eyes. It may seem a bit aggressive but don't be shocked. The world of a detective might be cruel for you." He said, slipping out an electric garrote and she scoffed. What was wrong with him? She wondered as they walked up to the driver, who flinched on seeing them nearing.

"You can see this, right?" He said, referring to the garotte. "If you don't tell us what you know, this could be..."

She snapped. "You think I'll tell you. I'd rather bite my tongue and die..."

Zuriña exchanged places with the detective and the driver flinched. "The factory is located under a tunnel, under Rick city hall. There are tons of cameras and the only people can go in are those who've gained permission can go in. Please let me go."

"What about the second restock?"

She lowered her eyes. "We're restocking three months worth of drugs into three batches. When the second batch is sold, two months worth of drugs will be restocked. We'll start transporting them tomorrow."

She turned to the detective. "You heard that, right? If we can prevent the second restock, we'll be able to stop people from taking it."

"That means we can stop 0101 project altogether." He replied.

"No. The two of you can't stop it." The driver suddenly said.

"What?"
