Chapter The Other Room.

Aurora

I walked out of the hospital with a tired sigh. I may love saving lives but that didn't stop me from being exhausted after the day's work. I have been working double time ever since Ethan's father incident, I wanted to save him at all cost. For some reason which I refused to acknowledge, he felt like family and I would have done the same thing for any of my family.

I knew that everything would be fine once a cure has been discovered so I increased my determination to find one.

Maybe it was because of how busy I was, I hadn't seen Ethan for three days now. I usually leave very early for the hospital, leaving Arne in Kelly's care and then I return quite late when even Arne had fallen asleep. But with that in mind, why was I still not satisfied? It was because deep down I knew that Ethan was purposely avoiding me, if he wanted to see me, he would have found a way already no matter how busy he was.

“What do you want me to do?”

“Leave me the hell alone”

The scene at the Jewelry shop came to my mind, I had told him to leave me alone when he asked me how he could pay the price for his sins. Was he really doing as I asked? Was he really letting me be?

If that was the case then I just be happy, relieved even that I finally got him out of my hair. Frustratingly, I was the complete opposite and it made me feel pathetic.

I arrived at the guest house and entered my room to see Arne already sleeping, I went for a quick shower and just as I put on my night wear, a small knock came from the door. I didn't bother to ask who it was because I was expecting the help to come with my tray of food, they usually followed my new schedule and brought my food immediately I arrived in my room.

I simply just went straight to the door, hoping to see the help but colour me shocked when I saw Ethan standing with a tray of food.

“You...” I trailed off. I couldn't find words but the rush of relief and Zoey's excitement was hard to miss. She was happy to see him. We were happy to see him even though I hate to admit.

“You hungry?” He ridiculously asked and attempted to walk into my room like it was the most normal thing to do.

“Uhm, excuse me. What are you doing here, Ethan?” I whispered as I was snapped back to my senses, stopping him with a finger on his chest.

“What? I can't come in?” he asked in a deep voice that earned a glare from me.

“Shhh, Arne is sleeping. Let's talk outside” I whispered back and pushed him lightly out of the door before stepping out myself and shutting the door behind me quietly.

“Come on then, this room is open, it's chilly out here” Ethan said before I could gather my thoughts on what he was up to. Without waiting for my opinion, he went to the empty room opposite mine and walked in. I wanted to stop him but he was already inside the room with my food tray so I just sighed and followed suit.

“Are the helps on leave? Why are you the one bringing me food?” I asked after shutting the door to prevent the cold air from getting in. The room was the same as mine in size, it was clean and the bed properly arranged. I assumed cleaners cleaned the room often even though there were no guest in it.

"No, they are not. I wanted to bring the food to you myself." Came Ethan's reply as though it was a casual thing as he set the food on the table and began lighting the candles around the room. Slowly, the room began to light up and cool ambience made it more homely.

I stood there, quietly watching him work. The little flex in his muscles as he lit the candle made Zoey purr and me swoon a little. I began to think of what it would be like to have his muscles working above me, caressing, pounding…

I shook my head to clear my thoughts and almost facepalmed myself for the dirty thoughts I was having. It was probably the cool weather… yes, right?

“Why are you standing there? Come and eat, you must be starving” Ethan's voice brought back to reality and I fought to hide the little blush that was creeping up to my cheeks.

What the hell was he doing?

And what the hell was I doing standing there?

“No, no, I'm not hung… ” I was about to lie and refuse when the loudest growl came from my stomach to contradict my words.

While I felt embarrassed, Ethan only chuckled and gestured to the food on the table, “Take this as compensation to the unexpected dinner guests last time”

There was no denying that I was hungry anymore, infact I was starving. I had only had some cup ramen back at the office since morning, nothing tangible since then.

I swallowed my embarrassment and took my seat, not wasting time to dive into the still steaming hot food.

At first bite into the chicken, I couldn't stop myself from moaning out loud in relief. I didn't care if Ethan was watching me, I was only concerned about the food in front of me which tasted like a sweet ticket to heaven. Damn, it was so good.

I kept having more, stuffing my mouth with chicken, rice and the curry stew, basically everything eatable on the plate. And I kept releasing moans and squeals of excitement… was it because of my hunger or was this food extraordinarily delicious?

It was both.

Suddenly, a low warning growl brought me back to reality, I was too focused on the food that I didn't notice when Ethan had come close to stand behind me. He bent low so that his face was beside my ear, his breathing was a little ragged and I saw his grip on the chair I was sitting tightened.

His hot breath fanning my neck and the close proximity had my wolf jumping in excitement.

“Easy on the moans, love. I don't think I can hold myself any longer from bending you over and taking you right here, just to hear you moan for me."
