I can confidently say that Logan still possesses the traits I deeply loved about him. His caring nature and gentlemanly demeanor never cease to amaze me. I never tire of mentioning that he sets the standard for what a man should be. Just knowing how he cares for me and satisfies all my expectations in a partner.
Admittedly, he is not perfect. It's true that he also wronged me; it wasn't right for him to leave me back then. He had his reasons, but it can't undo what's already done. However, a part of me is still grateful to some extent. Without those experiences in the past, I wouldn't be the stronger and more ambitious Krystal Miranda that I am today.
He has contributed a lot to my personal growth, and I'm genuinely thankful for that.
Now, I'm driving to the office in my car. This car was a gift from my brother when I was in college. He insisted that I learn how to drive, so I would have some background in it.
I used to be terrified of the idea of driving a car, but Logan taught me how to become a better driver.
Upon arriving at the company, I headed straight to my office. My employees greeted me, and I greeted them in return. Alice was already at her desk, seemingly delighted because she's finally on vacation with my brother. I hope their relationship remains strong for a long time.
I mean, they are living the relationship they want. The only thing missing is getting married, and I know my brother is already planning to propose to Alice. Knowing my brother, he's head over heels for my best friend.
"How was our vacation? Are you super satisfied?" I asked her, with a hidden meaning behind my words. She blushed and squealed, attracting the attention of other passing employees. Sometimes this girl can't contain her excitement.
"I don't even need to ask. I can see the happiness on your face," I observed.
She laughed and bit her lip. "Oh! It feels so good to be your brother's girlfriend. Our relationship isn't perfect, of course, but he's the best among the rest!" she exclaimed, as if she were on cloud nine.
"Alright, let's get back to work. So, what's on my schedule?" I inquired.
She furrowed her brow and tickled my waist playfully! What's this? I was trying to avoid her broaching this topic.
"What's that? Do you want to spill the beans about your moments with Logan?" she teased.
Sometimes her questions really annoyed me.
"Shut up! Can't you control what you say, for heaven's sake? He's just a friend now. Don't jump to conclusions so quickly," I scolded her.
"The real question is, have you forgiven him? I know you also understand how much pain he caused you over the years; it wasn't easy," she said, hitting the mark.
"I know, but my heart has opened up to him. Not in a weak way, mind you, but I genuinely know and forgive him. I listened to his side, and he showed me how to rebuild my trust. I'm not at the point where I completely trust him, but what's important is that my heart is open to trusting him again.
"I can trust him, but he still needs to prove his worth to me," I clarified.
"There you go! At least you've come this far," she said, laughing.
"By the way, regarding your schedule, you have a business meeting with Mr. Logan Lopez, and the meeting with Mr. Riyu has been canceled. It didn't take long for you to see his true colors and realize how sharp his horns are, right?" Alice informed me.
I nodded. "I agree with that. I can't imagine what would have happened if we were together. In the worst-case scenario, he would have delved deeper into my life, and then I would find out about his violent tendencies. That's scary, but at the same time, I also feel sorry for him. I may not know his entire background story, but I know he has gone through or is going through a lot."
"It may be pitiful, but that's not a reason for you to endure. You only live once; why would you choose a man you don't truly love or want, right?" she reassured me.
I left Alice because I felt that we wouldn't be able to get any work done if she continued talking. I know her tenacity very well.
After completing my tasks, I began packing up my things. My eyes landed on the photograph on my desk. It was taken by Alice, capturing a moment of me and Logan at an amusement park here in Azura. He wanted to have a picture of us before we left.
I suppose it's not a bad idea after all. At least I have something to look at when I miss him. Logan has shaken up my life once again. I no longer intend to wait any longer. We've waited for each other for so long... I believe that time is enough for us.
"Oh? What's this? Do you really miss him, huh?" Kyla said as she entered my office.
"Very much..." I couldn't deny that I truly want to be with Logan.
I took a moment, realizing that I also wanted to get engaged to him after saying yes and then eventually getting married.
"So you couldn't resist, huh?" she remarked, placing the bubble tea she was holding on my desk.
"Thanks," I said to Kyla. "Well, have you also thought about how long it's been? Logan and I have waited for this moment for so long, and I think he has already proven himself to me," I confided in her.
She hummed thoughtfully. "That's true. As they say, nobody is perfect. We just have to either embrace their imperfections or let them guide us to a brighter path, right?" she mused.
"That's exactly what I'm thinking."
With that, I bid her farewell. I have to go home because I still have a lot to do. One of which is my plan to say yes to Logan. I'm planning to surprise him with everything I've got. Naturally, I'm already looking forward to his reaction. I hope he's ready, just like I am.
While at home, I continue chatting with Logan. He mentioned that he'll be up all night working on documents, and I said I can stay up with him even though I don't have anything else to do.
"Or maybe not. I don't want to hinder the speed of your work," I told him during our video call. It's already 9 PM here in Azura.
He shook his head. "You won't be a hindrance to me, and you know that. I'm just worried that if you stay up late, you might get sick," he expressed his concern.
I laughed at what he said. "There are times when staying up late is necessary."
We both laughed until we fell into a comfortable silence. It's the kind of silence that isn't awkward at all, but rather soothing for both of us. If I can live with this kind of silence, I will gladly embrace it.
"I actually have a question," I began.
"What is it?" He stopped typing whatever he was working on.
I bit my lip before continuing with what I wanted to say. "I wanted to ask, what if I say yes to you? What are your plans?" I asked him slowly.
He suddenly took off his glasses and smiled widely. Is he happy?
"Why? Are you going to say yes to me?" he asked, clearly excited.
"It's coming soon. Just hold on a little longer," I assured him. Of course, I don't want to give him false hope. I want to provide him with reassurance in this relationship.
"I will look forward to it. By the way, regarding your question, I would love to marry you right away. I'll let you decide when you want to start a family with me. I will support and love you to the best of my ability. When you let me into your life, I promise you that I will make it up to you, and my commitment will be boundless. I will be your knight, your husband, your best friend, and your everything."
If I could cry right now, I would. But I'll save my tears for the day I say yes to him and marry him. Yes, I will look forward to that. Now, I bid him farewell. I think he'll be able to work faster if I leave him for now.
Three days after that emotional exchange of words, I received a message from Logan that he's coming home tonight. Finally, after two months and a week, I will see him again. Though it's frustrating that he only told me now. If he had informed me earlier, I would have been better prepared.
Fortunately, I have enough time to get everything ready. It's my day off, and since I'm free, I'm sure the two girls are as well. I won't tell Christian and Lance about what's happening just yet. I know those two are still holding a grudge against Logan, especially after the incident when he hurt me.
The timing has to be right for both of them. For now, I'll seek help from Kyla and Alice. It's a bit strange because even Kuya seems to be very supportive of Logan. My suspicion is that before Logan even planned to court me, he sought permission from my mother and Kuya.
I don't want to dwell on the hardship Logan faced with Kuya. I know Kuya, and he's not quick to forgive. So I imagine Logan had a tough time. I created a group chat for the three of us. Thankfully, both of them are online. I quickly shared the news.
"Guys, I need your help as soon as possible. Logan is coming home tonight, and I'm planning to surprise him by saying yes. I need to set up the event and the location."
As soon as I hit the send button, they immediately replied, showing their enthusiasm. They were eager to assist me with my plan.
"Oh my gosh! Congrats to both of you! I'll take care of the event; I know a very romantic setup," Kyla eagerly volunteered.
"Congrats! I'm so excited for your happiness. I'll take care of the rest of the preparations," Alice chimed in, equally thrilled.
The anticipation was building, and I couldn't help but feel a surge of excitement. This was the moment I had been waiting for, and I knew that with the support of my friends, everything would fall into place.
