Chapter Attack their pack

After the coronation ceremony two days ago, Ashton began his duties as the Alpha as he sat in his new office which was once Alpha Nathan’s office. Being a Gamma at the Dark moon pack had taught him how to take care of a lot of responsibilities so he wasn’t new to it.

The door opened and Hava walked in, once he saw her he suddenly relaxed focusing all his attention on her.

“How is work?” She asked sitting on his thighs as he wrapped his arms around her waist.

“It’s okay, we know I have work for Alpha Reid for a while so I could get a hang of it” he said. Ashton had never thought in his life that he would be an Alpha but because of his mate, he moved from being and Omega to a Gamma and finally to an Alpha.

“I know work could be hectic but I am certain you can handle it” she said.

Hava stared at the desk and everything in the office, it reminded her of her father Nathan and how much she missed him.

“Thanks for believing in me” he replied kissing her neck. He could notice that she was gloomy all of a sudden.

“What’s wrong?” He asked.

“I just wish my dad were still alive” she said regretting not being able to see him before he died.

Ashton had no good relationship with Alpha Nathan so he didn’t know how to feel. He just hugged her tightly to give her the warmth she needed.

“Ashton”

“Hmm”

“You are the Alpha right” she said and he wondered if she was making a dumb joke, Ofcourse he was the Alpha now.

“Uh huh” he replied.

“Since you are the Alpha why don’t you attack the Red moon pack, I want Bella and her mate to pay for what they had done to my father.

You can do that right?” She asked him and he was dead silent for a while processing it before he could finally answer.

“No”

“What do you mean No” she stood up surprised that he would reject her suggestion to avenge her father.

“I cannot risk our men to die at the hands of Red moon pack for a lost cause” he defended.

“What do you mean a lost cause, this is my father we are taking about, the father of your mate” she pointed out to him incase he had forgotten.

“I know that but I just cannot send men to attack the pack, it is pointless” he replied her. He knew he would be creating more trouble and casualty for himself if he dared to attack the Red moon pack. Ashton was smart enough to know that their pack was much bigger than theirs and after finding out that they were the ones who destroyed Alpha Reid’s pack which he thought was untouchable, he did want to mess with them. He had seen how scary Alpha Coast looked and he also didn’t want to go against him.

“So you are telling me that seeking revenge for what Bella did to my father is pointless, What the hell Ashton” Hava raised her voice pissed, if there was anything she knew she was certain that he would always stand by her decision but here he was saying no to her request.

“Look, I had heard from your mother exactly what your father did and I don’t mean to be mean but he deserved what happened to him. I just don’t see the point to attack the pack when they haven’t done anything to us” he clarified to her but his naive little mate wouldn’t listen to a word he said because she was blinded by her father’s love.

“They did, they killed my father. Bella killed my father right in front of me. You also saw exactly what happened” she vented out frustrated that he wouldn’t want to listen to her.

“I saw what happened but I also heard the whole story and I don’t see the need to fight back” he confessed.

“Who the hell are you?, the Ashton I know wouldn’t think twice about harming those who hurt his mate, I guess power has gotten to you so easily that you can’t see me any longer” she replied feeling distraught. She had thought he would be on his side of all people but he wasn’t.

Ashton got up from his seat and moved closer to her,

“Hava, if this were something worth fighting for then I would have done it. You wouldn’t need to tell me twice because I would have attacked the pack just for you but this is different, your father did them wrong and they paid him back for what he did to them. As hurtful as that might sound it is the truth Hava. And I am not about to risk my men to their death leaving their families to mourn for them.

Have some pity Hava for the men who could lose their lives to this” he tried to reason with her.

“Can you actually hear yourself, those men had sworn to protect my father who was the former Alpha of the pack so if they were told to attack a pack just so that revenge could happen they would gladly do that” she made that obvious to him.

Ashton looked at her and he could see the spoilt little brat he once knew as his mate,

“Say all you want Hava but I will not attack the red moon pack. You want to know what funny, how you were a better person in the Dark moon but once you return you turned into a selfish bitch who doesn’t care about the lives of others.

Here you are blaming me for being blinded by power but you are the one who can’t see the amount of people you would hurt with your stupid demands” he threw those harsh words at her and she was stunned by it. Hava slammed the door on her way out, it was useless talking to him knowing he won’t do anything.

She went over to Diana’s room to talk with her instead because she could also feel the pain she was feeling, after all it was her mate who died.

“Come in” Diana said hearing the knock on the door.

“Can you imagine the nerve of Ashton” Hava said barging in, she didn’t bother to greet Diana because of how angry she was.

“What did he do?” She asked noticing this was the first fight they had ever had.

“I gave a suggestion to attack a pack and he refused, I thought he was supposed to listen to me since i am his Luna and also the mother of his child” she stressed out.

“I am sure he had his reasons” Diana defended Ashton without doubt.

“No mother this is serious, he should listen to me” she said again,

“Okay which pack were you taking about?” Diana asked.

“Bella’s pack, to take revenge for what they did to father, he didn’t deserve to die in such manner” she said.

Diana had already told Ashton the reason why Nathan was killed and she understood why he didn’t want to listen to Hava and attack the pack.

“Your father committed a grievous offense to Bella, to her whole family” Diana sat her down to talk to her about the things Nathan did.

“So are you telling me they all what Bella accused Father of was true, he did really kill her family?” She asked doubting such a thing but the nod of confirmation from Diana cleared all her doubts.

“He would never do such a thing to his family” she let out.

“Would I ever lie to you Hava?” Diana asked her and she slowly calmed down. It was true that her mother would never lie to her.

“So he really did all those things” she muttered now believing her. Hava had never thought her father would murder his brother and his family, now she understood why Bella was so pissed that she challenged her.

“But still she would have forgiven him instead of killing him” she added.

“Did you see the little boy that was killed, if he hadn’t harmed that child maybe your father would still be alive but he called for death himself” Diana stated.

“She could have forgiven him, that’s what families are for” Hava answered and Diana felt sorry for her daughter, she was still too spoilt and naive to think about herself more than others. It was an attribute she got from her father.
