There I stood in a deep red strapless gown on the steps of the ball room with four guards surrounding me. C. J. and Willow was already here, so I was told via the maids. Slowly as I start to descend down I hear the silence wrap the room. Looking at the guards who keep forward shows me nothing. Reaching the base I see an upset C. J. in the distant with his arms crossed. Focusing my eyes on him as I am forced to continue forward I notice his eyes refusing to look towards me. Unable to keep eye contact to him I am ushered to the stage where the ever smiley emperor stands proud with an extended hand. In that moment the guards part leaving me standing still unsure of what is happening. With a heavy shove on my back I end up tumbling forwards into the emperor’s arms. Which tighten around my body.
“Now that my special guest has come falling into my arms I can continue with my announcements. We will be welcoming the Empress, finally; now that she has finally came home. Please keep this week open for the wedding events and ceremony for both occasions.” The soft tones in the emperor's words made my skin crawl as I heard them.
Looking up to the man who refuses to let me stand on my own, “who is getting married?” the words a mere whisper for only him to hear.
‘Us of course, my angel.’ His words surrounded my head as I lost feeling in my body.
“So, who is this Empress to the emperor that always refused to have an equal?”
‘You of course, my lovely;’ the words continued to resound in my skull. My eyes grew triple the size as the world crashed around me. My throat dried as my legs lost all strength.
“The future empress will became the empress by the end of the week before the new moons. This is an enjoyable time for our castle and the vampire people as a whole. We have wait many years for this woman in my arms to come back to us. Tonight we are to celebrate the home coming of her as we prepare for her to step onto the throne. I ask everyone to enjoy tonight for tomorrow we work for this coming week end.” The words echo around the hall before the room up roar in praise. My skin crawled as I started to black out. “Shall we dance angel?” Shaking my head as he lifted me off my feet to keep me at his side as he walked down the steps. Entering the middle of the room my eyes glazed as he pulled me to the front of his body maintaining my feet stayed off the floor. Twirling us around for what seemed to be eternity as he kept pushing his face into mine.
The music stopped in time for my mine to lose all focus of the surrounding. The only thing I could hear was a deep voice calling out, “take her to her room.” Blackness wiped all as I was lifted in a bridal style.
Several Hours Later
The room is dark and I am having a hard time figuring out where I am as I look around. Hearing a distant voice mumbling it brought back what happened causing my body to react on its own. Running into the shadows as I hear the door starts to open wrapping the light along the floor and blanket where I had been laying. Jumping quickly onto the intruder I wrap my arms around his neck while digging my knees into his spine. Much to my dismay he stayed standing with a long sigh releasing from his mouth.
“Is this really an appropriate way of welcoming your future husband as he comes to check on you?” This voice was no doubt the emperor.
Pulling my right hand back I reached to his neck using my sharp nails to push in. Only as they touched his flesh they stopped on their own accord. “I believe the correct way to welcome you is by putting your head across the room from it is currently resting,” I groan out as my nails start to bend with my pressure.
“Sorry angel but you can not kill me. In fact if in your head you have malicious intention you can not touch me.” His voice sounded as if he actually was smiling a real grin.
“You do not sound sorry about that. And why!”
“It is makes you feel any better I can not harm you intentionally.”
“WHY!”
“We are husband and wife, of course.”
“I have yet to agree to this charade.”
“Oh, so you have yet to figure it out? Good,” he says as he picks my body off his back to cradle to his chest. Walking towards the door they open as he walks towards them. Walking to the edge of the balcony he lets his arms go. My body stayed onto his chest while I try pushing myself free. “Look down,” looking behind me I see the ground over 300 yards below us. Grabbing his neck tightly, “there is nothing for you to worry about. I can not harm you just as you can not harm me.” Wrapping his arms back around me before sitting on one of the seats. “You can not run away now nor can you kill me. You can continue to kill everyone else but you can not me.”
“I get it,” I say removing my arms from him. Only for him to crush my face onto his chest. “Can you let go now.”
“No, I have always loved you but I know you will need time to love me as well.”
“Explain why I have to be your empress and why we are bound not to harm each other. We are not wolves who have mates. Also, you have over 100 different queens.”
“I will only have one empress. I have had ‘over 100’ different concubines. True we are not mates but we are destined due to the fact I was the one who gave you, your powers.”
“Wrong, that was a witch.”
“Uyaga, I know. She was not powerful enough to help you become who you were suppose to be. So, she called me for help to bring you to this power level. I needed payment so you became my bride that night. I had to wait for you to come to me to complete it though. I also ensured there was no way for you to harm me by placing some of my blood into your veins. That protects me, however; I knew if I could harm you then the blood would be invalid. Of course I put your blood into my veins to keep it protected.”
“That witch made a deal with you about my life!”
“I have loved you since you were little. That is why I came for you when you finally came of age but you left early. My horde was hungry so they destroyed your town.”
“WHO killed my parents?”
“He is in my dungeon as my wedding gift for you. Though it took longer then expected so he maybe very weak.”
“I am not marrying you!”
“But you have too, angel.”
“NO!”
“Well then I guess you will lose your companions.”
“Do not dare!”
“You have two choices my dear. Being a vampire I can not stop you from having concubines but I will never accept you to have another equal to me. Therefore, I am your main husband. All events we will go together. Your to keep in mind that I am to be first and foremost your top thought. As you will and have been mine.”
“I do not eat humans.”
“I know which is why my horde is for your consumption. The deal I made with Uyaga keeps me under strict rules. I can only consume drained blood that has to be mixed. My horde is the same, which is why the raids on the humans from us has lowered.”
“Why would you go so far?”
“For you. If I was not there to agree to the deal with Uyaga, you would have been weaker. I could not fathom never meeting you again so I had to help.”
“I was human why would you love a human?”
“You had an amazing, powerful, all consuming being to begin with. It attracted me. I was mesmerized from the moment you were born. It called to me. Just like when wolfy did when he was born. Of course, in a different way.”
“Is it because you are the emperor?”
“Yes, all major powers call to the heads of each clans. As a child you had a sweet heart that drove my blood lust out when I looked into your eyes. Yet, you never seemed to fear anything as you would put yourself into danger.”
“Then why kill my whole town?”
“It was the new moons the night you became old enough. I wanted to go by myself but the horde would not stop following me for they figure I was going to hunt prey. We have been cursed since for our own deeds. I have been blessed to have you back though.”
“Why would you always appear before me?”
“Oh, the mist ticks? Well, that is simple for a strong water power. I just wanted to check on you. It would calm me me.”
“I hate you.”
“I know but I will be yours for ever more now.”
“And If I still refuse?”
“Is his name C. J.? And your dog you raised for years is named Willow right? How did you bless her?”
“I have never blessed any thing.”
“Oh, interesting. Any ways, do their lives do not matter to you?”
“Does others mean more then yourself?”
“True, I guess I will just start feeding them humans and keep them locked in the cells then.”
“Do not DARE touch them.”
“This is why you will for sure marry me.” His smile makes my fist tighten, if only I could punch it off of him.
