Klaus
"The wedding is done so I guess you should take your leave," I pronounced with a smirk on my lips. The time to be scared of these people was gone, I was married to their daughter now and owed nothing to them, then.
The Alpha King and Xavier looked at me as if I had grown two heads. I had changed into a white suit for the Alpha ceremony and when I saw Amber's family standing in the hall, Todd suggested having some fun with those vicious creatures.
"Ah. That was painful. Epic," Todd wagged his tail and rolled out laughing.
"Alpha Elbert had invited us for the ceremony. We managed time to attend this though it wasn't part of the wedding," Katherine said with her Queen attitude tone which made me chuckle hard.
"Well, it's my ceremony and I haven't invited you, have I?" I asked coldly with a hint of sarcasm.
Amber's hand encircled my arm and I got to know about her presence. "You can't talk like that to my parents," she whispered, leaning toward me.
I wondered how she could be so clingy just after marriage as if we were a real couple!. Dragging her hand, I removed it from my arm before clearing my throat.
"You shouldn't teach an Alpha what to do," I countered, staring into her eyes coldly.
A twinge of pain flickered in her eyes but I couldn't care less. An Alpha should never let anyone teach him anything.
"You can't treat my sister that way," Alex took a step forward to me and threatened me in a deadly voice.
"Seems like, you siblings are fond of teaching but let me warn you that I'm not an obedient student," the words rolled off my tongue as if I had prepared what to say afterward.
Color scorched from his face, he was too stunned to say anything. I never talked back to her family, never disrespected them but if they would force me to do something I didn't want to, I couldn't manage the same demeanor anymore.
"Enough," Xavier roared, scaring everyone else in the hall. "Amber can fight for herself, we have taught her to protect herself. Let's leave right now." He didn't bother with lowering his voice or hiding his contempt for me.
Leaving them behind, I started strolling towards the middle of the hall where the throne was situated.
My family followed behind me, and I stood in front of the throne, waiting for my father and grandfather's arrival.
"Behave, son," my mom taunted before following my father to the throne.
I was looking here and there across the hallway to wait for only one person to arrive.
"Will you behave like this with me forever?" Amber stood closer to me, her pinky finger grazing against my hand.
The one thing I needed to do was to clear everything to Amber. She seemed different from the girl I knew since childhood.
"There is no forever, Amber," retorting to her, I walked away from her. This woman was creeping me out.
"Excited for tonight, to-be-Alpha?" I was walking around when Marcus's vague voice stopped me in my tracks.
I knew from his taunt what he meant actually. I shrugged and jerked my head away from him, fixing my gaze on the door.
"Indeed. She'll come and…"
"And what? You haven't invited her here, have you?"
A smirk pulled on my lips in response as I formulated my plan for tonight.
He facepalmed himself before opening his mouth, "you shouldn't have done that now. She can't be Luna in the presence of your wife."
"I didn't marry her, she was imposed in my life," I lowered my tone to calm, wondering if he was my cousin or enemy.
"Whatever," he rolled his eyes. "Nothing changes the fact that she is your wife now, she has the authority of the lady of the house, and your surname, of course."
I cringed at his words. I knew it but he didn't have to rub it in my face that way.
"Woah," his face dropped to the floor, and I swirled my head to see my mate strolling whilst her hands grabbed the fabric of her violet gown.
Turning my gaze back to Marcus, I shot him a death glare. "She is my mate," I uttered possessively and crossed my arms against my chest. "You better remember to cover your face with a hoodie or whatever fabric you find next time."
Marcus chuckled at my childish behavior and I ambled toward my mate, feeling everyone's gaze on me.
Scarlett met my eyes and a smile crept onto her lips which made me smile, too.
"Alpha Klaus is smiling?"
"What is this whore doing here?"
"Didn't he reject his mate before getting married?"
"How could she come here after his marriage? Doesn't she have some shame or dignity?"
"I feel pity for our Luna. Amber must be feeling cheated on."
All the whispers spread into the hall and being an Alpha I could hear every single voice in the room. Todd plunged into my mind, being restless to silence every single whisper against our mate.
"Calm down, my wolf. Let's be done with the ceremony first and then, we'll deal with these ungrateful pack members," I tried to calm Todd while keeping my gaze on Scarlett who was looking so mesmerizing in her violet gown.
I reached her and took her hand by surprise, kissing the back of her hand deeply. Stroking her hand with my fingers, I stood closer to her.
"You're looking gorgeous, my mate," I intentionally said out loud so everyone could hear that including Amber.
"Thanks. You're looking fine, too," she sniggered and retracted her hand back soon.
She wasn't feeling comfortable among everyone, her expression clearly showed that but she was here just for me so I could feel at ease.
"Let's start the ceremony," my grandfather announced, holding the red velvety box in his hand.
Laying my hand on her waist, I forced her to follow me. She wanted to protest but everyone's eyes on us made her hesitate and she followed silently.
Shooting a smile and prideful glance at me, my father grabbed the box from my grandfather. "Give me this honor," he asserted, and removing my hold from Scarlett's waist, I extended my hand to let him jab the ring on my finger.
"Please, take a seat on your throne," my father nodded his head curtly and indicated his hand toward the throne.
Scarlett stood beside me with her lowered head, I retrieved her hand in mine and pushed her to walk with me to the throne.
"Klaus, I can't," she mind-linked me. I looked at her with a stern gaze, ignoring her pleading.
Squatting on the throne, I forced Scarlett to sit on the armrest of the throne.
"I, Elbert Max Nelson, the Alpha of the Black Moonstone pack take my leave from all my duties regarding this pack and announce Klaus Todd Nelson as the new Alpha of this pack," my father disclosed in his Alpha voice and the hall fell eerily silent.
Nobody dared to disobey the Alpha or gossip when the Alpha made an announcement.
My ring gleamed with the golden light as the Alpha order was published. The ring was too loose to dwell on my finger before but my father's announcement made a magical impact on it and without making any effort, it fitted my finger spontaneously.
I was officially an Alpha of my pack now, not just a son of the Alpha. Rising to my feet, I cleared my throat and maintained a tight-lipped smile on my face gracefully.
"I take a vow to protect my pack till my last breath. I'll treat all the pack members equally without partiality. I'll keep the honor and grace of my predecessors and my mate," I emphasized my last word and glanced at Scarlett whose face had the tints of red blush. "Despite the complicacy of my personal life, I want my pack to have their real Luna, my mate. I expect everyone to respect my decision and obey my orders."
Scarlett stood beside me dumbfounded and my mother climbed the stairs to reach the throne with the similar velvety box in her hand.
"Here," she said coldly before letting the ring slip into her finger. "Since the former Alpha Elbert has placed the order, my words don't matter," my mother excused herself.
My eyes met Amber's green eyes which were exhibiting the gray hues of her wolf. Tossing me a disappointed glance, she galloped directly towards the main door.
