“He threatened me with your life!” Jeremy had said and she had gone quiet instantly. “He was going to hurt you, Donna, if I didn’t give you up.”
“I don’t believe you.” she said, her voice shaking. “Your father would never take a life just to prove a point.”
“Then you clearly do not know my father.” Jeremy said in a low voice, his fingers wrapped around his glass of iced tea and he pulled it to himself. “It would not be the first time he would be doing that.”
Donna swallowed and her attention moved to him. “What do you mean? He has killed someone before?”
“Her name was Jenny and he didn’t support the relationship either. I thought he was bluffing and that I could stand against him but…” he paused, feeling his heart tremble and his voice quake. He let go of the glass of iced tea and reached out to place his palm over Donna’s hand, surprisingly enough, she did not pull her hand away, Jeremy knew she was still in a daze as he fixed his eyes on hers.
“You do not know the lengths my father will go through to have his way, Donna. I could not sacrifice you.”

“That’s enough now boys, I believe now she knows who we are.” the man said with a sinister smirk on his face as he wiped the blood from his hands, he looked down at Cheryl as she whimpered on the ground. She had sustained multiple puncture and laceration wounds from their bite marks and her body ached terribly, so much so that it was painful just to move.
“You will pay for this.” she said to him in a weak voice, almost in a whisper. “You all will pay for this.”
The man chuckled and stepped closer to Cheryl, bending down so that he was close enough to her.
“No, Cheryl, this is you paying for what you have done. Maybe after this, you would think twice before attacking a werewolf from our pack.”
“Werewolf?” Cheryl coughed. “I do not interfere with your kind, do you know who I am?”
“Who doesn’t know Cheryl Declan Xiu.” he placed a finger on one of her open wounds on the shoulder and pushed his finger into it causing her to whimper and scream. “I must say your pure vampire blood really does smell and taste pleasing enough, despite your bitter character.”
“This is a war you are calling for, wolf!” she spat out, breathing hard and heavy. “And you will get it!”
”Well then,” he chuckled, wiped the blood on his finger on a part of her cloth not stained by blood before he stood up. “Till we meet again, Mrs. Xiu.” he said as he and the other men walked away, leaving her helpless on the ground.
She remained on the ground for a while, just seething and allowing her body to heal just enough for her to get the strength to stand up and leave the area, and as she laid there, she tried to recall if she had any point in her life attacked a werewolf before. She couldn’t remember doing any of such things and her anger rose even more.
She rolled to her side and managed to get to her feet when she felt a little of her strength had returned. It was a drag walking the rest of the road, but luckily there were n houses around here, she would not want anyone to see her walking the street drenched in blood. Humans lived here and they would think a murder had happened.
She walked out of the alley and fell down behind the bushes on the side of the road, laying there to rest for a while, the corner was dark so it hid her well, and the only place still open was a restaurant on the other side of the road.
She laid still and breathed calmly, the injures inflicted on her had been severe but not mortal, she would survive them and she would heal, but to do that faster she would have to get home to drink from the blood reserve they had, or boycott someone on the street and drink from the person until she was able to regain her strength.
The latter seemed like a faster option but it was also the most unwise, she knew. She wold have to kill whomever she would pick to keep the person from exposing her, and if she killed the person then the body would be discovered, they would notice the puncture wounds and forensics would reveal the person had been drained of blood.
The families of the supernatural would be alerted, drained of blood means the act was done by a vampire, and there weren’t many vampires who resided in Hontari.
She sighed and closed her eyes for a minute, when she opened them, she had her head turned towards the restaurant, and that was when she saw them.
Jeremy held the door opened with a wide smile on his face as Donna walked out, holding in her hand a coat. She didn’t smile but maintained a straight face. Cheryl gasped and her eyes widened, this was where she had headed to?
She watched as Jeremy walked her to her car and placed a hand on the door just as she was about to open it.
“Donna you haven’t said anything to me.” she heard Jeremy say, her hearing could pick up even very distant sounds.
Donna sighed and turned to face him, her arms crossed over her chest. “And what do you want me to say, Jeremy? You have already told me what you wanted to and I listened, what else is there?”
“I need you, Donna. Please can you not see that?”
She raised a hand in the air to stop him. “No, I cannot see that, you have given me an explanation but that does not mean I should come back to you.” she said, a frown etched across her brows. She paused, looked away from him when she felt the tears welling up in her eyes, she didn’t want to cry.
“You hurt me deeply when you abruptly called it off…”
“...and I told you why I had to, I am sorry about that Donna, so let me make it up to you.”
She chuckled and sniffed. “Make it up to me? You don’t need me, you have Cheryl in your life, and I cannot come in between someone else’s relationship. I cannot be the second woman.”
“You’ve always been the first Donna, Cheryl has nothing of what I want.” he said matter-of-factually and Cheryl felt her heart seize to beat. “It is you that I want Donna, you and everything that comprises of you.”
“Well, we don’t always get what we want, or do we, Jeremy?” she said to him and pulled open the car door, causing him to loose his balance slightly. He watched as she got into the car and slam the door shut.
“I won’t stop coming for you Donna.” he said, knowing that she could hear him, his eyes carrying certainty. “I won’t stop coming.”
