“Is everything alright, Miss Brooks?” the teacher said. She had to ask because Donna was still crying and holding her daughter tightly, almost even suffocating the girl even not that Alix was laughing one might have thought otherwise.
Donna only briefly glanced at the teacher and waved a hand in her direction, nodding her head without saying anything to her as she closed her eyes and allowed the tears fall freely.
“Let mummy take you home now baby.” Donna said to Alix as she stroked her hair and face, planting a kiss on her cheeks and wiping her own eyes. “Mummy will take you home with me where you’ll be safe.”
She drew strength from her daughter who was smiling happily, and then she stood up, took a glance at the teacher and turned to exit the room but that was when the cops got there.
“Stop right where you are!” one yelled and stepped into the room while the other stood by the door, blocking the exit.
Donna tensed and frowned, hugging her daughter tighter to herself.
“I will have to place you under arrest for running through traffic, nearly causing an accident and evading the police.”
“No,” Donna shook her head as she took a step back away from them. “No, you don’t understand, I had to get here!”
“Put the child down and come with us.” the man said to her, he was slowly making his way to her, approaching her cautiously while the other, the woman still remained closer to the door.
“I can’t.” Donna said to them, shaking her head from side to side as she cried. “I can not.”
The teacher had already made her way to the far end of the classroom, shocked to see the cops and just stood by, pressed into the wall and watching all the drama unfold.
“Ma’am, put the child down and calmly step away.” the cop said, one hand held out low in front of her, the other hand hovering over her gun hostler, ready to pull it out if the situation called for it.
“No!” Donna yelled out, holding her daughter close to her chest, her eyes were red now and blood shot, and one could mistake her for a deranged person with the way she acted. “This is my child! My baby girl!”
“We don’t have to be forceful, just let the child go and then we can talk.” the other said, slowly making his way closer to where she stood.
Alix little hands grabbed Donna’s cloth as she began to cry, Donna’s lips quaked as she continuously shook her head and rocked Alix, trying to calm her baby girl, but Alix would not be calm, she just kept on crying and grabbing at Donna’s clothes.
Just as Donna move her attention from the cop to Alix to hush her from crying, the male cop seized the opportunity to get close to her, pulling out a taser and using it on her. Donna’s body tensed and froze as she unconsciously let go of Alix.
The female cop moved from where she was standing by the door and ran to grab a hold of Alix as she fell away from Donna’s hold. She took the child and ran across the room to where the class teacher stood petrified.
“Take the child and leave this room.” the cop said to the teacher, shoving Alix into her arms and practically pushing her out the door so she could go help her partner to hold down Donna.
The male cop was quick to get Donna on the floor, pocketing his taser as he pulled out the cuffs. He had his weight pressed own on her thigh and held both her hands behind her back.
When her body relaxed from the effect of the taser, she began to trash about, twisting and turning, trying to get the huge man off of her.
“Let me go! Alix! Bring me back my daughter!” Donna watched in horror as the teacher raced out of the room, carrying Alix who was crying and trashing about in the teacher’s arms for her mother.
“Bring me back my girl!” she kept yelling.
“Cuff her, then we can take her down to the station.” the female cop said to the man. Donna could feel the man’s weight on her as he tried to hold her still on the floor but she would not easily give in.
“No! NO! You don’t understand! I have to be with her! I want to be with my daughter!”
“Hold still! You are resisting arrest, that is another felony!” the female cop said, her one hand still hovering over the gun despite the fact that the man had Donna pinned to the floor.
Donna suddenly felt fear sip into her soul as images of those bloodied pictures she had received earlier flooded into her brain. She needed to be with her daughter, and she needed to be with her daughter right now.
“Let me go or you bleed from your palm!” Donna suddenly yelled out as the male cop tackled her to the floor. Her eye color briefly turned green and then the man yelped in pain, letting her go instantly as he felt a sharp sting in the middle of his palm.
He had a deep cut right in the middle of his palm which was bleeding badly.
“Fuck!” he cursed as he stumbled back toward the wall, the pain was almost unbearable.
“How did she…?” the woman asked. The man watched as his female partner looked on in confusion, not sure of what exactly she should do.
“Goddamit! Taser this lunatic!” he yelled out at her.
Donna was already up on her feet by the time the woman reacted, she was heading for the door, making to go after the teacher who had carried her daughter away when she felt the electricity from the taser shoot into her body, flowing in rapidly and through her being. Slowly her body shut down and she crumbled to the floor, the only thought that was still in her head at that moment was getting to her daughter.
